OAO Raw Thread - July 30, 2007
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in The WWE Folder
You really think that would work? I'd hate to see that happen. How would they do it? Would they have the indestructable Cena have a faux injure and drop the title? I have no idea, but I wouldn't like to see it, I think they just need to mix things up a bit, make things unexpected. I'd really like to see a return of the King of the Ring or something similar, maybes used to highlight the new talent coming up, that would make me watch again. -
Ghostbusters 3 definately would be horrible. I'm still holding out hope for Punisher 2 with Thomas Jane and Constantine 2. Aliens 5 would have been great with Ridley Scott writing and James Cameron directing, but that was forever lost and destroyed by AvP being made pissing both guys off. They weren't the only ones, even though he's from the North-East so I shouldn't really hate him... I hate Anderson. His VideoGame Movies fucking suck, his MTV directing style sucks, ergh. I can't think of one film I've enjoyed that he's done. As for Ghostbusters III, I think I could buy into it if they made it with the 'Owen and Clive Wilson and co' in mind. Punisher 2 would be awesome, I didn't actually think the first one was that bad of a movie. I'll pass on Constantine 2 though, I found the first one really slow and boring.

A software development kit for making Xbox and PC games. You shouldn't be able to make grand games, more along the lines of the ones you can find on Xbox Marketplace. I'm still reading and doing the tutorials, but it appears to be similar to dreamweaver in the sense of how its interface is. So you don't need to know every single last ounce of C coding to work it, as you can use drop down menus to do alot for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_XNA http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/xna/default.aspx

Hope this isn't an indication of what Madden08 is going to be like, from the feedback I've read over the course of this thread. Anyone played/seen a demo yet?

Someone asked me at work what movies I'd like to see made, even though I'd know they'd be shit and I'd ultimately regret them being made. I know strange question. However my answers were Ghostbusters III Alien 5

Bonnie Hammer submitting ideas to Vince
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in The WWE Folder
I think this might have been the time when he had the idea of turning Rock gay. All I remember for sure is he was put in the writing team and his ideas were considered so out of touch that he was removed and made a 'consultant' and sent home/quit all in the space of 24hrs. Oh man, is that true? Jeez -

I thought it was burn out from being asked to do Raw and Smackdown? -

Russo going back to WWE could be the catalyst behind wrestling becoming good, and TNA becoming unique. Though, I guess that all depends no who really is booking TNA, and how different Russo would be in WWE. -
Have to say, I'm totally disappointed with how this VKM fued has panned out. All that time, all the build up and for what? Christy Hemme's bad acting and Lance Hoyt's, erm, worse acting? No thanks.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
HHH will get me watching Raw again, but I'm not sure for how long. I've got to admit that the whole Benoit thing has dinted my interesting in watching wrestling. I have no idea why, its not like I've taken a moral stand point on the situation, but ever since the day I've found out I've just subconsciously not bothered to make an effort to record or watch it. If its on its on, but I haven't made it an occasion. Its not just WWE though, its TNA as well. Just tired of seeing the same stuff being repeated, there's no escape from it other then CHIKARA and ROH. -
Guess he was used as part of the on going 300 pimp WWE are doing, which is a shame. Hopefully that's not the only thing he's been used for. Drew Galloway should form the Foreign Legion with SoS and someone else, his stable was fun to watch in IWW.

WWE General Discussion for August 2007

I don't mind the gimmick as such, I think its something a little different compared to the rest of the roster (though typical WWE in other ways), but its too gimmicky for him to be THE Champ. Umaga has certinaly grown on me over time, but not enough to buy into him being another more then a squash match. I reckon Orton/HHH is the best bet for a title when from Cena, but I think they're holding back from Orton due to his past behavior and he's pretty young to be a 2 time champion already, maybe? -

Personally never been able to buy Umaga as a Main Event title contender. -
Isn't today the day that somethings suppose to be announced about this?

It was The Quebecers... They weren't The Mounties! Nor were they The Rougeaus for that matter. Oh yeah! They were the same guys though, weren't they? Almost...The Rougeau Brothers was Jacques and Raymond Rougeau. Then Raymond retired in 1990, Jacques went on to be the Mountie and in 1993, he teamed up with Pierre Carl-Oullet to become The Quebecers...who for the record, were NOT The Mounties. Ah, thanks for that Actually, on further memory draining, I can kinda remember Pat Sharp (English DJ, TV Personality and owner of the grandest Mullet ever) hosting a WCW show on ITV (Channel3) around the early 90s. I'm not sure if that or the WWF memory came first. Anyone else remember Pat Sharp hosting a wrestling highlight show? -
WWE General Discussion for July 2007

What's the deal with Meltzer anway? Was he refused a WWF tryout as a kid or something? 'Scuse my ignorance, just I never really used to bother with the internet sheets till last year, and for someone that spends so much time around wrestling, he seems to be quick to shit on everything. -
They have a Brit wrestler under development named Drew Galloway that I was reading someone describe as "100 times better than SoS so why is he getting the look and not Galloway" what do you think of this? I'm gonna guess you know more about both of them than me. That would be THEE Drew Galloway you're talking about! He's a good talking, has a pretty good look, no idea why he isn't being used yet. Have they got something against his Scottish accent? He's good lad seen him work a few wZw shows.

HOHO! Good for SoS! He's a good wrestler, hopefully he impresses and gets some time on WWE TV.

WWE General Discussion for July 2007

Damn the internet for lying to me! -
I thought as much, though it still seems that they'll have a hugely overcrowded roster. That seconds what, 30mins more screen time?
-
I want to, but I don't want to pay for anything that I'm not sure what it is It's free I played an unbelievable amount of Gears of War this summer, the majority of it on co-op online. This is great news, and it did push me over the brink of buying this, on which I'd been teetering for a while. Just makes me wonder how hectic its going to be. How many more mobs are going to be on the screen to balance out against 4 human controlled characters? Will there be plenty of split routes like on GoW? As that was a cool part of the game, you could both do the game and experience something different while still be playing together.
-
With all this possible influx of past WWE stars coming in, it really does seem likely they're getting a second hour - otherwise that show is going to be DAMN packed.
-
haha what the hell, I'm not selling cars, ok?

Botching a spot is fine...but repeating it soon after is not good. I wasn't *sure* he botched it until I saw him try doing the move later. Yeah, that's a fair point actually. I suppose that's a perfect example of someone desperate to get their spot into a match. I really thought he was out cold after the botch though.
