  1. I'm definitely nitpicking, but the home plate ump just got hit with a foul ball in the Phils/Marlins game, and the crowd let out a big cheer. If this game was in Philly and the same fan response, it'd be a top story on ESPN about how horrible Philly fans are.
  2. Gotta keep this train goin', Phils. After counting them out a few weeks ago, I'm pleasantly surprised at the current happenings. We need to take 2 of 3 in the next two series and hopefully we'll be in good shape. I'd never have thought we'd be in this position, and possibly looking ahead, I like our chances against the Cubs, Dodgers, Brewers or Mets. Even if the Phils don't make the playoffs, what a final week and a half it's going to be.
  3. That was pretty much the only bad non-call on the Eagles. Cowboys got away with a bunch of facemasks before they finally started calling them.
  4. DVR'ed and soon to be put on a DVD. I love when shit like this happens even if it isn't my team.
  5. Live and die with Philly teams. I loved the 9ers as well growing up, but after I was paranoid it made me seem like a frontrunner, I quickly made that my last favorite team. Now they suck, but oh well. I tend to lean towards the franchises when there is franchise vs. player, because most athletes today only care for money. I also love the sport as well, and will watch almost every playoff game from each sport, minus basketball. I felt good when the Red Sox won the WS in 2004, but now I despise them because of their fans. I loved when the Giants won the SB, even though I hate them right now because they are a division rival. I mainly go for the feel good story because sport is theatric as well as athletic.
  6. Obviously Vince McMahon does not care, and neither do they. Why do something that won't affect your job status if you don't really need to? Would you clean up aisle 4 if you knew you wouldn't be fired if you didn't?
  7. I got it, and the opening promo from Slick is exactly what I remembered, so I taped this over my coliseum video version of SS '92. The CV version had a different speech, but I loved this one from Slick on 24/7 and it's exactly what I remembered, so I figured I'd just tape all of it over again.
  8. The fact that you need someone to explain to you why Primo is on SD now is sad. Make an explanation for yourself. Make the explanation "He probably wasn't needed on RAW and being a tag team with his brother seems like a good idea." Why do you NEED an explanation on TV? Make one up yourself and roll with that. It's what I always do, and it's better than bitching about it all the time.
  9. So the Phillies game was canceled tonight. Smackdown was supposed to be shown tomorrow night. I have a series recording on DVR and it was going to record tomorrow night. But since the Phillies game was canceled, Smackdown was shown tonight. They don't replay Smackdown. I am sad.
  10. According to PWInsider, the Best of Starrcade DVD due out later this year has now been canceled. It will be replaced with a Kane DVD. Saying I am upset would be a huge understatement.
  11. Why does it bother anyone if you can't answer a question about professional wrestling? My answer is always "it's professional wrestling, deal with it."
  12. no they just show JR 's farewell speech. Also a funny note, I just got the NOC dvd (as well as the GAB 08 dvd), and I noticed they used the same banners with the various belts on them that they used last year. But I guess there was no ECW banner last year but there was a Cruiserweight title one (hey remember that belt? WWE doesn't) in 07. So guess what they did? If you guessed take the CW banner and cheaply write ECW over it,you are correct. You're about 2.5 months late, as it was mentioned quite a few times during and after the PPV.
  13. The NL East is stealing the show tonight. Two fucking crazy ass games.
  14. Suspend your disbelief, will you? That's what pro wrestling is ALL ABOUT. Suspending disbelief. And if you do not agree, you are clearly misguided. EDIT: Don't mean to come off as a dick or anything, or thinking you are wrong and I am right type of thing, but seriously...all of us suspend our disbelief when we watch wrestling. Or at least we try to. All of your rhetorical questions really have no answer, because it is pro wrestling. When they tell you Orton's kick is deadlier than MVP's, then it is. Simple pro wrestling type of logic here.
  15. Reading the recaps, didn't Jericho pass out or something in his match with HBK because he didn't respond to the ref? How is he a suitable replacement? I love the fact that's the route they went, but it makes no sense the way it happened. HBK at least would have to be considered as the replacement, then have Jericho attack him or something and claim his spot.
  16. Hamels is a far cry from a big game pitcher. He just can't get the big W when the Phils need him the most. That's not what an ace does.
  17. Looks like our heads aren't in this game. Big mistake against a guy like Santana and first place on the line.
  18. And apparently you can be awarded a base when you get tagged before you touch it.
  19. I share the same sentiments. They should NOT do this for a nationally televised sporting event, no matter what. Unless there is another 9/11, this is pure shit.

    NFL WEEK ONE

I hope it doesn't vary from that, because the Eagles have Carolina's first round pick next year and I'm gonna be rooting against the Panthers all season. That, and that fucktard of a 2004 NFC Championship Game has not left my mind.
  21. lol @ the overreaction to the Cubs.... Anyways, Phils close the gap to 1 GB in hopes to end tonight tied with the Mets for first place. With Hamels going tonight, and the Phils pitching being almost dominant this series, it isn't as ludicrous as I thought Friday at 7pm.
  22. So, the Phillies, 2 GB for first, can jump two games up with a sweep and be tied for first place at the end of one day. Has that ever been done before? I'm sure it has, but it's still an interesting tidbit.
  23. I admit, it does get annoying when people harp on you for "jinxing" something. Although it is part of the fun, getting names thrown at you (in real life, mind you) rather harshly because you "jinx" something really pisses some people off. If it's all in fun, there's no reason people need to be like "WAY TO GO FUCKER, IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"
  24. I see. At least some Phillies, albeit coaches, show some emotion when things don't go their way. As much as I love Utley, I'd like for him to show some emotion sometimes. This differs from the type of thing Ryan Howard does after hitting a ball that is going to be a homerun. I always hate when hitters stand there and only start running halfway down the line.
