For my makeup pick, I'm taking SP Nolan Ryan. And no, I honestly didn't see he'd been taken.

What a horrible PPV, both quality and scoring wise. Nobody gets the five point bonus for picking the winners correctly. Also, no points to Vampiro69, who missed the one hour before the show deadline. It doesn't appear he had a great PPV anyway, but it could hurt his overall standings for the year. The results: 1. Taylor Wilde/Roxxi/The Governor b. The Beautiful People when Wilde pinned Madison Rayne. 2. Brutus Magnus beat Eric Young. This match is not scored. 3. Matt Morgan b. Abyss 4. Awesome Kong beat Sojourner Bolt to retain the Knockout Title. 5. Scott Steiner defeated Samoa Joe by disqualification. For the record, I missed the entire match because I was changing my daughter's diaper, which shows you how short this actually was. 6. AJ Styles beat Booker T to win the TNA Legends Championship. 7. Team 3D defeated TNA World Tag Team Champions Beer Money Inc by countout, so they don't win the titles. No bonus points scored. 8. Suicide won the Ultimate X match and the X Division Title. 9. Sting pinned Kurt Angle to retain the TNA World Title. Tonight's totals: Jebus (8pts) The Ghost of bps21 (7pts) King Cucaracha (7pts) 6foot9 (7pts) Eugenius (7pts) Ed Wood Caufield (7pts) Canadian Destroyer (6pts) daileyxplanet (6pts) The Buzz (6pts) MillenniumMan831 (6pts) RepoMan (6pts) JHawk (5pts) Exslade ZX (5pts) Diamonddust (5pts) haws bah gawd (4pts) Aero (3pts) TSM Fantasy (3pts) Our first new entry for quarter 2, !!!!, would have picked up five or six points if eligible (he hit a winner with Styles but specified a DQ finish). Vampiro69 would have scored 4 pts had he gotten his picks in on time. Final standings for quarter #1: 1. Exslade ZX (44pts) 2. The Ghost of bps21 (35pts) 3. Eugenius (34pts) 4 (tied). Diamonddust (32pts) King Cucaracha (32pts) 6foot9 (32pts) 7. Broward83 (31pts) 8. Jebus (30pts) 9. Ed Wood Caufield (29pts) 10. MillenniumMan831 (28pts) 11 (tied). JHawk (26pts) daileyxplanet (26pts) 13. Aero (25pts) 14 (tied). TSM Fantasy (24pts) Canadian Destroyer (24pts) 16. haws bah gawd (20pts) 17 (tied). I forgot that too and PMd Al my next pick because I wasn't going to be home yesterday. Don't feel bad.

It was supposed to be but Hogan never wore it until The Main Event I think they started falling behind around the time Thunder debuted, so maybe they just couldn't figure out what day to do voiceovers to cover everything. Which doesn't really fly since WWF syndication was always on time, but it's a theory.

One I saw when I was refereeing at an indy show: "Notorious" Shane Taylor was supposed to climb up to the middle rope like he was going for a Vader bomb, only for some other guy whose name escapes me to power bomb off. Well, the other guy took about five years to get up for the spot (and I can't even say he was selling all that well), so Taylor's saying things like "I'm going up" or "I'm going to squash him" to try to kill time. Which immediately brings to mind "HURRY UP JEFF GODDAMMIT" at Survivor Series 2002.

Too late to be eligible for the first quarter, but I'll consider this a sign up for the second quarter. So your picks won't count officially, but it could be fun to compare you to the rest.

I've tried to add a bunch of bonus points to at least give someone a chance to overtaker our leader, but I doubt it's going to happen. Five bonus points for picking all eight winners correctly, leaving up to 18 points available, so there is at least the possibility of a shakeup. Bear in mind that even if quarter one goes as expected, all points carry over for the annual prize, plus quarter two scores start from scratch with WrestleMania on April 5. The quarter one prize will be awarded with 48 hours of this PPV ending. TNA Destination X - March 15, 2009 from the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL 1. The Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde/Roxxi/The Governor BONUS (1pt): Who gets pinned? BONUS (1pt): Who scores the pin? 2. Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner 3. Booker T (TNA Legends Champion) vs. AJ Styles BONUS (1pt): Will the title be on the line? 4. Match of 10,000 Tacks: Matt Morgan vs. Abyss 5. TNA Knockouts Title: Sojourner Bolt vs. Awesome Kong© 6. TNA X Division Title Ultimate X Match: Suicide vs. Consequences Creed vs. Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley© vs. Chris Sabin 7. TNA World Tag Team Title: Beer Money Inc. vs. Team 3D BONUS (1pt): Who gets pinned? BONUS (1pt): Who scores the pin? 8. TNA World Title with special referee Jeff Jarrett and special enforcer Mick Foley: Kurt Angle vs. Sting

Wrestling Roster Draft: Luxe & Reduxe
JHawk replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
While I agree in principle, you're not exactly helping your case by continuing to complain about not being in. I'm pissed about not being in, but shit happens. There's another draft this summer. Chill out. -
This only furthers the stereotype that Tyler Perry is funny.

I normally love lists like this because of the debate they cause, but seriously, this is bad. I saw exactly one Go Shiozaki match in 2008, and it was a match of the year candidate. All of Mark Henry's work combined in 2008 couldn't carry Shiozaki's jockstrap in that one match. I don't follow Japan or lucha much (I'd know the names but not have seen many of their matches, particularly the lucha guys) so I'd have to take other people's word on it, but I've never scratched my head so much on one list. He's still wrestling? Not anymore, was just forced to retire a couple months ago due to spinal damage. I thought his retirement was a couple of years ago, which is the immediate reason I began to question this list even before seeing Mark Henry on the list.

This is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and watch the games. Are any of these competitive beyond the fifth inning or so?
-
Simple. The interview was pretaped with the 1986 belt, and Hogan wore the winged eagle (the belt specially made before WrestleMania III that never got used for some reason) for the first time when he went to the ring. For that matter, why did they make such a big deal about making the new belt before WrestleMania III, making a point that whoever walked out as champion would have the new belt, only for Hogan to use the existing belt instead for the next ten months?

Garvin debuted as the "new" Freebird member at the June '89 Clash of Champions (VII). From what I've gathered, they hyped that the Birds would be getting a new member (Gordy was still with NWA/WCW at the time), and out came Jimmy Garvin with Hayes and Bam Bam. They went on to win the World Tag-Team Titles at that show. But it made no sense because Garvin was injured by Kevin Sullivan in August 1988, which led to Eddie Gilbert's babyface turn, and Garvin shows up after nine months off to wrestle as a heel with the angle forgotten. Granted, at the time of Garvin's injury, Dusty was booking, and Flair was booking when he returned, but wow was that a major logic gap. I was ten years old at the time and went "What the hell is this?"

He's still wrestling? I'm going to make my own list. 1. Nigel McGuinness 2. Bryan Danielson [commercial break] 245. Necro Butcher 246. arm-BAR [commercial break] 20,345. Mark Henry

The next eligible PPV is Destination X next week (and also the last PPV of quarter one). For those unaware, TSM Fantasy is the former "TheFranchise", and CubbyBr has had to re-register as "Eugenius" due to log in issues. If any other name changes are made, please PM me so I can adjust accordingly.

On one WCW show, someone used one of those giant tubs for holding soft drinks with the Surge logo just because they were sponsoring that piece of shit company. In the late 80s/early 90s when WCW had that agreement with Roos shoes, someone ran someone else into the "Roos post" (instead of ringpost. Get it?), and even Jim Cornette looked as JR and went "The Roos Post?" And as far as contrived spots, and "tower of doom" spot in ROH/TNA multiman matches where 16 people all hit some sort of suplex/power bomb/whatthefuckever at the exact same time,

Yes. Swollen lymph nodes in my upper leg, way too close to the groin. The doctor said it was most likely caused by a cat scratch, so I took the opportunity to tell everybody I had cat scratch fever. Favorite part of the experience was the prescription for vicodin. Sweet sweet vicodin.
