Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 Really, now? I'd love to know what everybody thinks. Just maybe somebody may get it into their head "Well, if I was a hundred pounds heavier, I'd have a world title too.." Warrior flopped, Yokozuna flopped, Goldberg flopped, Big Show flopped, and if there's anything good in the world, Lesnar will flop too. There's simply nothing that makes him stand out from the other, genuine main eventers. When you give the guy a title, you have to compare them to people like Hogan, Austin, and Rock. Does Brock look like he can stand in that company? Not at all.
Guest MrRant Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 Goldberg never flopped. He was still cheered everytime he went out so define how he flopped.

Does Brock look like he can stand in that company? Not at all. Yokozuna, Warrior, Goldberg, and even The Giant were very successful upon their debuts. And why are you comparing Lesnar to Hogan and Austin? It's a different era. Besides, the fact that he doesn't belong (I'm assuming it's because he's new) simply adds to his reputation as an immediate and sudden threat to the rankings. As for your thoughts on Lesnar not being able to "stand out from the other, genuine main eventers" I've tried but I can't help you there. Obviously I see something there that you don't.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 Why am I? Because it's the same thing. They were all World Champions..the same thing Lesnar is. It's completely fair to compare them in that way. The guys who've been main eventing the last four years..Austin/Rock/HHH/Taker..Lesnar dosen't measure up to any of them. And he dosen't belong simply because he dosen't belong. He'll simply be another guy that nobody really cared about who was given a belt because he looked big. As compared to the guys who got belts because they were really, truly at that level. Lesnar's a step below. Yes..upon their debuts. And look what happened to them all? Gone once the novelty wore off. Because that's all they..and Lesnar..are. Novelties. He isn't anything special. He isn't anything that I should care about. He's simply the latest product to come out of the WWE Hype machine. I don't believe that he's deserving of a championship belt, and no ammount of video packages, hype, and bad matches will make me believe it. He dosen't have anything that a main eventer should..a good character, decent mic skills, charisma, and a proven track record. He has nothing. He is nothing. I'm not going to argue anymore, because apparently..it dosen't really matter. I'm not a brain-dead sheep, and I'm tired of the WWE treating me like one. I'm not going to like Lesnar, and I never will.

All that really matters is how I personally feel, and I feel that Brock Lesnar belongs in the position he's been placed in. I'll be watching the coming weeks' worth of television with that mindset, hopefully enjoying the shows more as a result. He has something. He is something. I'm not going to argue anymore, because apparently... I am a brain-dead sheep, and I'm tired of the WWE creating storylines that entertain me. I like Lesnar.
Guest Chuck Woolery Posted September 7, 2002 Report Posted September 7, 2002 If I may interject... Angle, in his book, "It's True, It's True", states that there is a Grand Slam of wrestling accomplishments, which is as follows... - Olympic Champion - World Champion - NCAA Champion - State Champion I think that's it, anyway... if we go by this, let's take a look. Kurt Angle One Olympic gold medal Two NCAA Titles One World championship One or two or maybe three HS State championships Brock Lesnar Two NCAA Championships Probably a couple state championships. Judging by this, it's pretty obvious who the better am-wrestler was... and hell, if you really want to play the "Brock has the look" argument, why not hire John Llewellyn? He beat KA to become an NCAA champ? There's a lot of people in the am-world, as well as in WWE, who you could argue are just as or more deserving than Brock Lesnar. Mr. Lesnar just has the look. Maybe I should grow four inches and gain a hundred-and-twenty pounds...
