this has nothing to do with the war on terror really, but what do people make of the 'max' movie that is coming out apparently humanising hitler? i don't see a problem with it from what i've read. it's not disputing the man was evil, merely trying to pinpoint what made him that way instead of the traditional 'evil is evil and that's that' approach. i don't know if it's been released in the states yet, but it's getting a fair wedge of negative pre-publicity over here.

The History Channel has had many, many things that point out the other things in his life that may have caused him to be like he was. I don't have a problem with it at all and if anyone makes a big deal about it then they are being hypocrites because they haven't got on the History Channel at all. You don't have to make a movie/documentary about Hitler that is just about the Holocaust. The points before WWII is pretty interesting from what I have seen and read.

one of the major sticking points is the suggestion that, i guess in hitler's mind, the complete revolution of german national identity, military, architecture, even the holocaust, was all basically just a project in aesthetics. he couldn't accurately portray his vision of a new germany after WW1 through his art, so decided to do it in reality instead. that's quite the derranged art project.
