Guest EQ Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I agree that the majority of the episode was weak, but the ending *definately* made up for it.
Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Next week, I've got 5 words for ya... Allison Hannigan as Willow Rosenberg! And not some lame last second cameo, a nice meaningfull visit from the original WB witch! Take THAT Charmed and Sabrina Steve
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Cordy and Xander would be perfect for each other now.
Guest EQ Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I don't know about that, Cordy seems too serious for someone like Xander now.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Oh I dunno bout that. Xander hasn't matured as much as Cordy has, but he is like regarded as the 'responsible' one on Buffy now - I mean, he's the only character with a car!
Guest EQ Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I think Xander only seems like the responsible one because he's the only character that doesn't have some kind of power to use in an unresponible way. And besides, even old-school Cordy had a car. =P
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Well, I'm still not convinced that it's Cordy. Maybe the First's little sister (The Second?) or something. If it IS Cordy, Joss has some 'splaining to do and it better be a good one. As for tonight, Faith continues her ass kicking goodness (man she kicked the everloving crap outta Angelus) and there was even some humor besides Lorne to keep it somewhat light hearted ("Did I mention I have Tourette's?"). Plus, Wesley continues to rule the whole Angel universe. It's hard to believe the transition Wes has made from his first appearance as the prissy Watcher wannabe. I'm eagerly anticipating the crossover with Glenda the Good Witch showing up in LA next week.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 13, 2003 But he uses his car for work. He works. He has his own company. He does stuff. HE DOES STUFF. If that's not responsible, I don't know what is... Xander HAS a power dammit, he is just waiting to unleash it upon the world...
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 13, 2003 It's not hard to believe Wes' character development.. Cause it was a character IMPROVEMENT - unlike Cordy. There was the whole stressing over Angel killing Connor thing, and the neck slashing thing, and the expulsion thing... This all lead up to the Lilah-lovin thing. It makes sense. The scene with Wes and Faith where Wes tries to bait her - that was awesome. A TON of things said there that has more depth than 95% of the shows on TV. Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Angel continues to impress me to no end. I'm sorry I missed most of season 2 and all of season 3, and I eagerly await picking them up on DVD.

If it IS Cordy, Joss has some 'splaining to do and it better be a good one. Even before Cordy turned all bad, her character started to bore me. I started noticing it in the third season. Actually, I think it was mostly around the time she started to develop feelings for Angel. I watched season 3, so fast though... so it all bleeds together. Guest EQ Report post Posted March 13, 2003 But he uses his car for work. He works. He has his own company. He does stuff. HE DOES STUFF. If that's not responsible, I don't know what is... Xander HAS a power dammit, he is just waiting to unleash it upon the world... Wait... does he actually own the construction company? Did I miss that? I remember the episode where he got promoted to "team leader" or something, but I don't remember anything beyond that. (I'm not trying to nitpick your argument, I'm just wondering if I missed something along the way) The more I think about it though, he has gotten a lot more responsible. Whether he owns the place or not, he does have a good job, he has his own apartment, he had a long and steady relationship and yes... he has a car. You think about Buffy and Willow. Buffy has a "job" at the school only b/c Principal Wood knew she was the Slayer and Willow... student, no job, crashing at Buffy's place (which she only has cause it was her Mom's). I still don't think present-day Xander and present-day Cordy would make a good match. (At least, I don't think it'd make for interesting TV). I think Xander and Cordy played off each other really well in Buffy seasons 2 and 3. As far as Xander's "power" goes, I'd like to see them call back to the Halloween episode from the first season where he became a soldier. He wouldn't have to have superpowers, he could just be tough and able to kick *MAJOR* ass in a fight. Kind of like Riley, only not gay.

Guest JMA Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I really hope the big bad IS Cordy. Maybe the so-called "Powers that be" don't have the noble intentions everyone thinks they do. I also hope they explain why Faith was attacked in the prison. I'm guessing it was an assassination attempt by minions of The First. Anyways, I'm glad the respective "Buffy" and "Angel" shows are interracting with each other again.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I liked last night's ep, mainly for the Wes/Faith bits, which made me mark out pretty hard. I haven't been watching long enough (this is only the 7th episode of Angel I've ever seen) to care about the Gunn/Fred/Connor/Cordy stuff. But next Wednesday can't come soon enough. Guest EQ Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I also hope they explain why Faith was attacked in the prison. I'm guessing it was an assassination attempt by minions of The First. I read online that the designs on the knife used against Faith in that prison scene were the same designs seen on the weapons that the bringers used to kill off potential slayers on Buffy. I can't wait till we're right in the thick of this crossover. =D As an aside, I wish they hadn't gone the "magic makes Willow go crazy" road. When she was super-Willow, she could have destroyed so many Vamps that Buffy could have just sat back and watched.
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 14, 2003 I'm looking forward to Willow on Angel, she's gonna kick some major ass. I'd like to see what she thinks of Cordy, and how much she has changed. Cordy isn't a bitch like she used to be, just a bad ass mofo. I hope Faith, Angel, and Cordy are the only ones who show up on Buffy's last episode.
Guest EQ Report post Posted March 14, 2003 (edited) Fuck it, why not go all out and have everyone from both shows on Buffy's last episode? Eh, I guess it could get a little crowded seeing as how Buffy's got a pretty big cast (so does Angel I guess). Well, I don't care who's on Buffy's *final* episode, but I do hope we see all the characters meet at least once. Edited March 14, 2003 by EQ
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 14, 2003 On the last Buffy eps they should pass the torch to Angel. Pass the torch! Pass the torch! Put Andrew on Angel! Put Andrew on Angel! I mean, jesus christ Andrew would own that show. OWN IT!
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Angel already sort of has a brain character though, Fred. Andrew could be quite funny on Angel though.

Guest Mole Report post Posted March 17, 2003 I don't know if this has been posted, but here are the spoilers for next two Angels: "Orpheus" March 19th Spoiler (Highlight to Read): After drinking Faith's spiked blood, Angelus lies shackled and unconscious at the hotel. But his rest is anything but peaceful as his drug-addled mind presents him with disturbing memories — of Angel's good deeds. Also along for his strange trip is Faith (Eliza Dushku), who's clinging to life after her violent showdown with Angel's evil alter ego. As the two struggle with their flashbacks, the gang confers with Willow (Alyson Hannigan), who has come from Sunnydale at Fred's behest. The witch, who was able to re-ensoul Angel once before, may be their only hope. "Players" March 26th Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Gwen Raiden returns to Angel Investigations and asks Gunn for assistance in rescuing a kidnapped girl from a powerful tycoon's high-tech mansion. In other developments, Cordy and Connor reveal their secret to the rest of the gang.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Man-o-Man is Angel hitting 'em out of the park this season or what?! I didn't think this episode would be that good... I was never more happy to be wrong... Inviso-text Acti- ah shit. Spoiler Tag, REPRESENT! Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Willows interactions with AI was awesome - esp. w/ Fred who is a lot like the Willow of old. In fact, it almost looked like Willow was getting annoyed - but Fred was having a ball talking to a female equal to her intelligence. Willows convo with Wes ROCKED the hizzy. Wes:"Willow, i've changed a lot. I've seen the darker side of myself, you don't know what it's like" Will:"I ripped the skin of a person and tried to destory the world" Wes: (sullen)"Oh... I chained a woman up in the closet." Wil:"Oooh That's dark" and Willow vs. Cordy was pretty good. Willow: So, what have you been up to? Cordy: Higher Power, you? Willow: Ultimate Evil. Cordy: Oh. And then there was faith... YEAH! Mmm Mmm Mmm. (to connor when he tries to kill angel) "Cut me a switch, son - it's time for a whoopin" I was really surprised at how effective the 'in angels mind' was played up. I thought it would be really goofy but they did it really well.

I thought it would be really goofy but they did it really well. I would like to say that episode rocked. Oh yeah. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): You know, I thought it was cute how Willow and Fred got along. Then the "I'm seeing someone" line came up, and I couldn't stop laughing. GOLD. Kennedy and Fred is a pretty tough choice. Is there anyone left for Fred to go after anymore? Willow's convo with Wes did indeed rock the hizzy. Poor Wes. "Hey look, it's the Marlboro man." I'm suprised you didn't mention the Barry Manilow running gag. Or the PUPPY!!! How hilarious was that? Course, Angelus' reaction to the whole thing is what sold it. Great stuff. I thought they pulled off the whole "Inside Angel's head" thing rather well. Flashback scenes are always fun. I would so buy a "That 70's Angel" action figure. He has powers...mullet powers! Faith was pretty awesome as well, playing off of Angelus in Angel's head. Good stuff. All in all, a wonderful episode. Man, Angel makes me mark out pretty much every episode, usually multiple times. WWE never does that anymore, or if it does it's insanely rare. Kinda sad. Oh well. Seeing Faith back on Buffy is going to rock.

Course, Angelus' reaction to the whole thing is what sold it. Great stuff." Dude, that eps had so many classic lines in it... Though I am ashamed of forgetting the puppy. I thought he was going to kill himself or something - and Angelus' reaction was priceless. It will be great to see Angel listen to Barry Manilow just out of spite from now on Kennedy over Fred - fo sho - but Fred and Willow looked GREAT together... In my mind... having a 3 way...with me... :) This reminded me a lot of the 'Critic meets Simpsons' eps.

Guest Mole Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Good new for Angel: "Nothing much was happening at the repeat-heavy netlets, though an original episode of the WB's "Angel" drew its best numbers since November." Eliza Dusku is a draw!!
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted March 19, 2003 We get it on Tuesdays here in Canada, right after Buffy. Makes for a good night of tv. Anyways, more talk of this weeks ep: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): So you'd pick Kennedy, eh? I have a weakness for cute smart chicks, so it's Fred for me. But yeah, Kennedy is still damn hot. It'll be funny seeing Angel reference Angelus from now on...never thought he'd listen to Manilow out of spite, but it seems like the Angel thing to do. And yes, that ep was full of great moments. I'm sure we've both forgotten a few. And how disgusting was Cordelia at the end? Ewwwwwww. I mean, they sort of did her heel turn well, in that it's really easy to dislike her for what she's doing now. I mean, I don't even think Cordy is hot anymore, unless it's Buffy Season 2, ya know? Blah.
Guest areacode212 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Sci-Fi has some casting news that some of you might find interesting (especially if you were fans of Firefly). Also, I'm crossing my fingers & hoping that the people at WB remember that nobody watches WB for war news.
