Least Favorite Gimmick Match

I've come to hate cage matches. They used to be cool back in the day, but the last few years they've done nothing but bore the hell outta me.

 

Also, I could die a happy man if I never saw another table match. Anyway, what's your least favorite kind of Gimmick Match?

I wouldn't call it my least favorite, but the infero match is very lame, the only rule to the match is "Kane loses"...

 

TNA has killed the ladder match.

 

I'm also burnt out on table matches, unless it was a 15 minute table ironman match...most table bumps in the time limit wins...Slingshot Suplex told me about that one a few years back...before table matches were on every week.

Cage matches suck now, cage matches used to be hardcore because it was nearly impossible to escape, now the ref will open the door for you. I hate bra and panties matches now and any other female bikini contest because you know it's going to be some dumb brawl with some poor chick running away from the ring half-naked at the end while Lawler screams PUPPIES untill his old crumpled dick can pull together enough energy to orgasim. And _____ on a poll matches suck too.

Handicap Matches are the worst. The WWE has over used them in the past few years to the point where I never want to see one again. Although I've never really seen a handicap match that was very god.

Cage matches are the worst IMO. They used to be awesome and special, but with the overflow of gimmick matches now, they've been reduced to pretty much crap. There have been a few good ones like Benoit/Angle on Raw a year back or two, but for the majority, they've been pretty boring, like Booker T/Big Show on Raw Roulette.

I'm not too big on Evening Gown/Tuxedo Matches ot Inferno Matches.

 

Then there's the ever sucky Scaffold Match.

No-Rope Barb Wire matches its basically throw to the ropes which is always counted by a slide about 3 times then the wire breaks as the wrestler fars out of the ring.

XXX on a pole sucks too, but that doesn't happen very often...

Being an actual referee, I have two views on the subject.

 

I hate watching on TV:

- Mix Tag Matches, where it strictly has to be man vs man; woman vs woman.

- Tables matches, with rules rewritten. (IE: all a guy has to do now is throw himself into a table to be eliminated)

- Heavily Biases Guest Referee Matches. I mean, you just KNOW that the guy is gonna favor his rival's opponent. Take Judgment Day 2000 as the perfect example of a good guest ref.

- First Blood. Just another excuse not to have a guy be pinned, it's just a matter of the guy blading at the right time and hoping he doesn't get busted open hardway.

 

 

I hate reffing:

- Basic 2 on 2 or multiple-man tag matches. Too damn many things to keep track of.

- Matches with many run-ins or interferences by the manager at ringside which requires me to be in a million places at once.

- Battle royals/rumbles. In this one you need to have eyes EVERYWHERE.

- Main events. I'm usually exhausted by the time I get to those.

I think the Coleminers Glove match was left off cause they've been smart and haven't done one in a while.

 

I hate mixed tag matches cause of the announcing.

plus they always do the predictable spot where the heel chick ends up falling face first in the heel dude's crotch and hilarity ensues

I've got one of the workers in Missouri/Tennessee interested in the idea of the 30 minute table marathon match but I have heard no definite plans yet. But they are running a hardcore promotion down here now so it may happen after the first of the year. More attempted Slingshot Suplex booking (since the Simon Diamond and Mike Kelly stipulation matches were never heard from again)

talking about pole matches. Anyone remember when Shane Douglas and Kidman had a Viagra on ploe match. Now, thats gotta be the worst gimmick match ever.

It was Simon and Don Montoya...Mike Kelly was far far away from the card

Mike Kelly was a GLW show in Westland....Kelly was doing the promo after the match to set up next month and I happened to be standing a few feet behind him and said something about if he and Skull Ganz won their tag match next month,then Cheri (Skull's manager) got 5 minutes with Handsome Johnny Bradford. Then Kelly decided to throw that out on the mic. Unfortunately,it was never brought up again.

I HATE strap matches. That touch all 4 corners bullshit would be the main reason. I have too many bad memories of really awful strap matches to not mention it.
