TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2003 Yup the time of year is upon where a lumbering hoss gets to eliminate numerous other superstars in a desperate attempt to get over. This happens almost every Rumble with some pushes working out(Yokozuna, Nash & Austin) and some not(Kane, Big John Studd & Hacksaw Jim Duggan). So who will this year get the Kevin Nash memorial push at the Rumble: Batista or Bill DeMott? My bet goes to DeMott since they'll be more desperate to push him than Batista cause of his age. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 4, 2003 Seeing that the Rumble is 9 out of 10 times used to continue pushing guys at the top, I'll say zombie Undertaker. He needs to get something back after being eliminated by Maven last year.

Guest Mole Report post Posted January 4, 2003 Batista, because he is the man!!
Guest midnight_burn Report post Posted January 4, 2003 DeMott will just destroy any cruiserweights in the ring, and Batista will eliminate RVD quicker than HHH did last year, because god knows Batista is more valuable to the WWE than Rob. After that they'll both just get tossed out in short order by either Taker or HBK (who i predict will enter at number 1 or 2 and be one of the last to be eliminated). Guest Angle Armbar Report post Posted January 4, 2003 I predict DeMott and Batista won't last long in the Rumble. Taker will be the so-called bigger wrestler that will last the longest.
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted January 4, 2003 If it is either of them, I would guess Batista. They seem to be building him up to the top, while DeMott is just getting a token push and should be back on Velocity any minute now.
Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted January 4, 2003 I say Raven. And it's about time, too.
Guest ryankeast Report post Posted January 4, 2003 I think out of the two id say Batista. Demott as someone has mention will not get over no matter what and will be back looseing to Rikishi very soon. But I also think that The Taker will get the big push in the Rumble also. I do think that Batista will maybe last the longest in this years though.

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2003 Out of only those two, I'd say Batista, although I can assume 'Taker will last longer. Although RR is going to be extremely fun for me, since the Rumble last year was my second PPV, and the first one I kept (I was an idiot and threw Vengeance '01 away). So, it'll be fun to compare the two, considering how many changes have occured since last year.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 4, 2003 I say Raven. And it's about time, too. I'd rather see Michael Cole get the push instead of Raven. His offense, ring-work, everything...just totally inspired, while his gut has expanded faster than an hot-air balloon. He looked totally gassed about a minute into Thursday's house show match against Steiner, and he looked horrible against Hurricane a few weeks ago on Heat. If you're pushed into the dumps, you should attempt to build your character there, such as a Funaki, Matt Hardy or the like. If the company notices you still have "it", you will earn that push. You will go NOWHERE, if you resort to whining, or fail to work-out.

If the company notices you still have "it", you will earn that push. You will go NOWHERE, if you resort to whining, or fail to work-out. When did Raven whine about his current position? Maybe he has put on a few pounds, but hey maybe he thinks he'll get pushed if he hits the cheeseburgers. And with good reason too, considering recent recipients of pushes include such 'heavyweights' as Big Show and Albert...And with the exception of Jericho, Booker T and a handful of others, he wouldn't be any worse than the horridness currently occuping a Raw ring... And in reference to 'building his character'...what has he been doing on Heat for the last 7 months? And I have no sympathy for Matt Hardy. He's been a popular wrestler who has always had a fairly prominent spot on the roster up until recently...so fuck if he's been getting slighted for a few months (if you could call it that)...I'm sure a lack of push for a couple of months won't hurt him

Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Raven can lose and gain weight like that. I remember seeing him on Heat a few months back with a nice belly, but two weeks later he had close to a washboard. But then it was back to being fat a little while after that. I think what I assume is a coming push will benefit his physique.

Guest bravesfan Report post Posted January 5, 2003 I doubt it will be Lesnar getting the push. I see Lesnar getting the "Bret Hart 1994" treatment: comes into the Rumble hurting after a earlier match in the night, then winning the Rumble. I see the push going to Batista
Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2003 Most of these "pushes" have originated from RR 1994. I guess that tells you something. It is my favourite rumble, as everything was original at the time, including the finish. Now, the rumble is screwed over all the time, and just because someone wins it, it doesn't necessarily mean that they will be going to Wrestlemania. Also, I thought the Undertaker thing was cool at the time (I was seven). Where was I? Oh right, I think Test is getting the "Diesel" push, while Lesnar is probably getting the "Bret" push. Who knows, maybe DIESEL will get the "Diesel" push...
