OK, that HHH/Tajiri photo makes me think a couple of things.

1. Great sportsmanship.

2. HHH bitches about not being over as a heel, yet he goes out and does this? I'm sorry, but should the "big, bad, huge" heel be extending his hand with sportsmanship? Then again, we won't see this in America (most likely) so we'll stick with number 1.

From puroresupower (1/25 show):

Results from today's WWE show in Tokyo at Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 1:

- Spike Dudley defeated Steven Richards in 6 minutes, 14 seconds with the "Dudley Dog."

- Test (w/ Stacy Keibler) & Jackie defeated D-Lo Brown & Molly Holly in 6 minutes, 52 seconds when Test pinned D-Lo.

- Rico defeated Sean Morley in 9 minutes, 32 seconds with a back spin-kick.

- Goldust & Hurricane defeated Rosey & Jamal in 9 minutes, 12 seconds when Hurricane used a Shining Wizard on Jamal and Goldust took the pin.

- Victoria pinned Trish Stratus in 9 minutes. The perverts were out in full force in the Japanese crowd, gawking at Trish's breasts at every single second, hoping her top would get ripped off.

- Scott Steiner defeated Christian in 11 minutes, 16 seconds with the Steiner Recliner (Camel Clutch).

- Kane defeated Batista in 11 minutes, 24 seconds with a choke-slam.

- Lance Storm & William Regal defeated The Dudley Boys in 18 minutes, 16 seconds when Storm pinned Buh-Buh after a taurus (superkick) kick.

- Chris Jericho defeated Rob Van Dam in 19 minutes, 6 seconds with the Walls of Jericho (modified Boston Crab).

- In the RAW Heavyweight Title Match, HHH defeated Yoshihiro Tajiri in 23 minutes, 21 seconds with a Pedigree.

At the 1/25 show, WWE announced return dates for Summer of 2003 in Japan.

WWE claimed 13,000 for their 1/24 Tokyo, Yoyogi National Stadium Gym 1 show. The announcement of Booker T not working the show did not go over well with the Japanese, as the fans booed big time.

From Meltzer (1/24 show):

--WWE results from earlier today at Tokyo Yoyogi Gym: William Regal & Lance Storm b Hurricane & Spike Dudley in a tag title match, Steven Richards b Rico, Test b D-Lo Brown, Goldust b Chief Morley, Dudleys b Rosey & Jamal in tables match (this match got over really big live), Rob Van Dam b Christian, Trish Stratus & Jacqueline b Molly Holly & Victoria, Tajiri b Chris Jericho (reported as the best match) and HHH & Batista b Scott Steiner & Kane (Kane said to have carried the match). They switched the main event because of the bad reaction to HHH vs. Steiner as a single. Today's main event will be HHH vs. Tajiri for the Raw title.

It's great that the matches had so much time....I'm betting that RVD vs. Jericho was probably the best match, but I wonder how the main event was?

Scott Steiner defeated Christian in 11 minutes, 16 seconds with the Steiner Recliner (Camel Clutch).

Ha, they finally realized the only way Steiner can wrestle is if they can put him against a bump machine.

Damn they even get to see Rico wrestle....

Hope they show clips on a future Confidential.

Looks like a solid show.

I wonder if Tajiri's back hurts from carrying HHH?

Wow. Considering the size difference that is one swank german suplex by Tajiri. From the other pictures it looks like Triple H busted out the moveset too. And 23 minutes? That's got to be twice as long as any of Tajiri's prior WWE matches. Ah, Triple H, his mind is a closed book to me. For TV he hogs centre stage and buries others, but for a house show he's willing to go 50-50 with a cruiser for twenty minutes. Strange mentality.

Bet right after that, HHH SWERVED~! the crowd, and pedegreed Tajiri again, then cut a 20 minute promo in English, then had Steph come down and translate the promo into Japanese.

Nice sign behind Tajiri/Trips up there, with a letter from the logo of each of the former Big Three.

Thanks to 411 reader Ray Strack for sending in this report.

The audience was really, really into all wrestlers. I can’t imagine the last time wrestlers like Steven Richards got such incredible heat. Everyone got heat and pops as the audience pretty much ate what it was given.

(Disclaimer: would like to apologize to Eric S., Scott Keith, Grut, or any

other 411 writer whose jokes we intend to rip off of).

With that said, let’s begin.

Howard the Coward comes out and reads us our rights, in a 5-minute speech explaining what we are and are not allowed to do with the footage we get at the event. He thinks he’s all that, but he’s not.

Spike Dudley vs. Steven Richards:

Test of strength junk, some jokes, SR is awesome and managed to piss of the Japanese quite a bit. Spike Dudley pins SR with the Dudley Dawgg.

Rico vs. Queef Morley:

Why the hell is this Morley wrestling? Wrestled with Val Venis tights, had a

nice set of consecutive suplexes leading into a fishermen suplex which was

kind of nice. Crowd chanted for Rico’s sideburns the whole match and had

signs up with his sideburns on them. Go figure. Rico wins with the spinning

heel kick.

Test (w/ Stacy) & Jacqueline vs. D’Lo Brown & Molly:

The crowd was all over Stacy. Test probably the least over face in the

entire show. D’Lo managed to pull the Sky High but Test kicked off and

finished with a big boot. A lot of comedy in that one, fun stuff. Stacy came

in with a neck brace, but none of the Japanese people are supposed to know what’s that about since we get the shows on 3 week delay here.

Big Poppa Pump vs. Christian, of all people.

About 10 minutes of Christian avoiding a fight, which was incredibly funny

live, probably super boring watching at home. BPP almost killed Christian

when attempting to do a suplex. Triple H proceeded to run in and attempt to hump Christian, then realized he’s not dead and fled backstage in shame (Huzzah!). Christian got a surprising amount of offense in, Steiner didn’t do much. Finish saw him do a Samoan Drop from the top rope (probably has a proper name which I don’t know) and pull the Steiner Recliner. People didn’t seem to know it was his finisher though. Disappointing due to lack of posedowns.

Jezebel vs. Trish, Women’s Title Match:

Lots of random chants for Victoria, relatively long match. Victoria wins

with that sweet neckbreaker…really cool.

3MW vs. Goldust and Hurricane:

Booker T had some family emergency and he left after the Korea show. VERY disappointing. Match was fun stuff though. Japanese absolutely love comics so naturally they were into the Hurricane character. He was really over. They won with the shattered nuts followed by a shining wizard. Fun match.

Batista vs. Kane:

Kane got huge pops and a full entrance pyro though none in the ring. He won with a chokeslam in a pretty good physical match. Batista was pretty cool but comes off as a fake Brock. Our Katie Vick chant did not catch on.

*Intermission*

I was trying to WRITE all this stuff DOWN but Daniel wouldn’t let me.

Dudley Boyz vs. Commonwealth Connection for the RAW Tag strap-ons:

Lotsa comedies, and some technical stuff too. Good match full with heel

shenanigans. Japanese people HATED Regal. He packed more heat than a kettle of boiling water on the counter. CC won legit without cheating, but Regal got put through a table after 3-D’ing Storm. We liked this a lot.

Some Other Guy vs. RVD:

RVD ordered extra biscuits tonight. Some Japanese guy had a “RDV” sign

behind me. I was going to piss myself of laughter. Lots of chants as the

crowd totally loved it. MotN, no doubt. Lots of near falls and since this

wasn’t a title match this could have gone either way. The ending was great

but saw Jericho win by slapping on the Walls, RDV got to the ropes but he

pulled him away and I think it was lil’ Naich that let him get away with it

and RDV tapped out.

Steph comes out and introduces the challenger for the RAW title, and how

convenient, he’s from the Smackdown! brand…Tajiri! Flair talked a bit before the match started and introduced Trips as the greatest champ.

Tajiri vs. Poochie (World Title match):

The crowd goes insane of course and claps along to his music in perfect

sync. Tajiri got a lot of offense and near falls and even got to kick out of

a pedigree. Lost eventually though, with a pedigree. It really was cool to

see HHH in the main event because originally I thought it was going to be

HHH v. Steiner. Steiner did such a better job doing his 3 moves against

Christian and Tajiri (who was just as over as HHH was) got to main event in his home country. At the end of the match HHH went to raise his hand and the applause was amazing. Tajiri actually started crying and bowing like crazy to HHH. Probably the greatest moment in Tajiri’s career to go for the title in his home country. Great moment.

What the fuck? Kick out of a pedigree? Triple H - either an enigma wrapped in a riddle covering a big nose or his food was spiked with happy pills.

An enigma? WTF?? It doesn't mean shit if it's not on TV.

What's all this stuff about Booker having a family emergency and being ill and whatnot. I read on Meltzer's site that his work visa wasn't approved.

T.V. or not, Triple H just went up in my books.

ditto. i give trips a lot of credit for putting tajiri over so strong. it's not on tv, but so what? that is a great moment.

Guest art_vandelay

What exactly did he do to "put Tajiri over so strong"? Allow Tajiri to compete against him? Allow him to kick out of his finisher in front of his home crowd during an untelevised event? Raise his opponent's hand after defeating him? I call that doing your job.

Yes, it was a great moment, but I don't understand why Triple H deserves any extra credit or praise for simply doing his part.

Umm......wow you know you're really a sad person when you get applauded for doing what you should do normally.
