Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Stupid Vince trying to bring in Goldberg for Two PPV's. Instead of doing the right thing and having Rock job to Hardy, Benoit Etc., Vince has Rock lose a "Retirement Match" to Goldberg, only for Goldberg to leave also. Guest Brian Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Well, he is bringing back corporate Rock.
Guest Army Eye Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Matt Hardy.. WTF guys. Matt Hardy has a very good, funny, solid midcard heel character, but it is not a character that will ever draw money in main events. And even if they did want to do it, at this point he has not been built up properly. He still is pretty much a jobber. It would just look like a fluke if he beat Rock. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted January 27, 2003 Yeah, Andrew I am totally for Hardy going over Rock. Why is that such a bad idea? They have tried EVERYTHING to get Edge over even more. He has had his shot. I guess they could use Benoit, but I am for Hardy. No doubt. It won't happen, but it could work. While Hardy is a good worker at what he does and his character is amusing, it's not a character that people take seriously. It's comedy filler, though it does make for some good laughs. That would be like Kurt Angle retiring the Rock while acting in his Doofus Heel act, rather than the Badass Ankle Snapper type we currently have. It's not Tommy Fierro levels of terrible, but it's down there somewhere. Why they'd want to blow a huge buyrate they'd get on Rock vs A Number Of People on Matt Hardy would be beyond me. Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted January 28, 2003 I think Booker may be the one guy Rock had a program with and he didn't job for.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted January 28, 2003 I think Booker may be the one guy Rock had a program with and he didn't job for. That was probably Vince's decision. Lance Storm doesn't even job to Booker.

Guest Just call me Dan Report post Posted January 28, 2003 Oh I wasn't saying that to blame the Rock, he's not selfish in the ring as far as putting people ove, I'll give him that any day. I was just pointing that out. rock has earned his stripes A LONG TIME AGO as far as putting talent over.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Report post Posted January 28, 2003 So the People's Champion is leaving the People? I wonder how the millions...and MILLIONS of The Rock's fans feel about that? Personally, I find it hypocritical for a man who has said wrestling is in his blood and how he will be WWE forever could just walk right out without even saying a goodbye. Am I mad for Rock making movies? Nope. He does have the look, charisma, and can (not WILL but CAN) pull it off. But don't make a speech on live national television vowing to stick to pro wrestling for the rest of your life then leave to film a movie. If (and this is a pretty big if still) Rock actually does retire from wrestling after Wrestlemania I will be sad. I don't want The Rock to go. But it's the best for him and his wife and daughter when it comes down to it. Another thing that shocks me is how Vince can let Rock retire and NOT beg for him to stay. The man made Vince money and he is just gonna let him go? Unless ofcourse this will just mean constant ads for Rock's movies on WWE TV and in the arenas until the fans get sick of it (although I think they already are). With the WWE annoucers shilling Rock's latest movie even if he hasn't wrestled for a year. And why have your final match against Goldberg?!!! I would like The Rock battle Chris Benoit in a Retirment match at Wrestlemania XIX (seeing as how Benoit loves pro wrestling). So if Rock goes will I be sad? Yes. Will I be sad for the rest of my life? Nope. I'll move on and so will the fans. I just hope The Rock remembers that he wouldn't have a movie career if it weren't for the WWE fans. There would be no Rock without the WWE. P.S.-Will Rock call himself the Hollywood Champion or the Hollywood Box Office Champion when he turns heel? Just something I wonder.
