God, another thread nearly killed by forum drama.

No shit. It's sad that people think it's cool to take advantage of a thread discussing the death of the wrestler.

A helluva shock to come home and see on the top of the forums. Shame that he wasn't able to have a noteworthy WWE comeback before this happened...

I didn't beleive it at first, with all the spamming that goes around on here at times. My heart just sunk seeing this as the Smartmarks Forums latest news. What a sad day it is. Rest in peace, old friend.

I've been away from my comp all day and just found out a couple minutes ago. This is very sad as Mr. Perfect was one of my favourite heels growing up (behind Debiase).

Here's hoping for a tribute of sorts on Raw.

As a kid I loved Perfect's cocky heel and was disappointed his last run in the WWE was so brief. It's even more disappointing now that there will never be another chance.

let's just stop discussing the pricks who think a death is funny. i'm generally not in favour of deleting posts altogether, but i think in this case it would be appropriate.

as other people have said, this death has hit me harder than than others such as rude, bulldog, etc. i don't know why. perfect was a great heel, but he was always someone i think fans secretly wanted to be. i certainly did. the cocky swagger that was always backed up by being the best, his gestures like throwing the towel behind his back and catching it again, swatting away his gum, sitting on prime time with bobby heenan and flipping his pen into the air, catching it with the other hand. everything curt hennig did was just ... cliched as it is ... perfect. in the ring and out of it. i can't believe he's gone. again, as someone has already said, he didn't look all that different between first starting out in the wwf and today. in a way, he seemed timeless, ageless, and i guess now he always will be. damn, i can't believe i'm this upset over a wrestler i never knew.

rest in peace, curt, you're the guy who took down brock lesnar at 35,000 feet.

When I grew up...you give me three people I loved to hate, and those three people were Ric Flair, Vader, and Curt Hennig. Flair for being Flair, Vader for hardly letting Sting win, and Curt Hennig being that dickish heel that just made me realize that perfection means cockiness.

And then I remember when he turned face on that interview with Randy Savage on Prime Time Wrestling before the Survivor Series over a decade before, after his supposed "retirement" from the ring, and when he came back and teamed with Savage, I can just remember the ovation he got, the kind of ovation that just made you think, this guy was it. He had the look, the attitude...to coin a Paul Heyman saying, "He had 'It.' That intangible." He could hold the crowd in the palm of his hands with his annoying jargon when he talked. I remember him drawing so much heat one time that I wanted to jump through the TV and destroy him myself. The way he talked shit to Hogan and Bret and all those other guys was PRICELESS, and even in his twilight, he could still entertain.

What really sucks that I think that after he lost the IC title to Bret, that he was so underrated and such that people lost track of his greatness in that ring. It sucks because I think we as a group of fans are in the old adage that "We aren't missing him until he's gone." Like Owen and Rick Rude before him, he's gone, and now we truly miss him. Curt Hennig, Mr. Perfect, may you always be perfect in your happy place, and may you be happy for an eternity of eternities. Rest in Peace, and you will seriously be missed. Your legacy, forgotten or not, will live on...

He looked like he was in great shape last year. I wonder what went wrong.

I went to school with Curt's daughter, my dad taught his older daughter in class. I've never met him but he must have been a great man to raise his children so well. Minnesota is missing it's champion.

Damn..and he was just wrestling. Gonna pray for his family tonight.

You know, they used to say they have a good baseball team in heaven..well, now Heavens got a damn good heel for their wrestling federation.

What an awful day this is!

Mr. Perfect? MR. PERFECT?! He may have fallen from grace recently, but he was still my favourite wrestler (along with DiBiase) when growing up. I'll miss you Curt Hennig!

BRANDON, Fla. -- Professional wrestler Curt ``Mr. Perfect'' Hennig was found dead in a hotel room Monday. Officials said foul play wasn't suspected.

Hennig, 44, of Champlin, Minn., was scheduled to appear Monday night at the Florida State Fair in Tampa.

A housekeeper at the Homestead Suites Hotel found Hennig in a room about 1:30 p.m, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. Hennig was not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner's Office, and the sheriff's office was investigating.

Hennig, the son Minneapolis wrestler Larry ``The Axe'' Hennig, has wrestled professionally for more than 30 years, according to an online biography. He worked for the World Wrestling Federation and most recently wrestled for Jimmy Hart All-Star Wrestling.

I've just found out about this and I am still confused with the details...but um...yeah. I won't say he was the greatest guy to ever live...but I always appreciate his efforts in entertaining myself and millions of others for years.

R.I.P Curt "Mr. Perfect" Henning.

May Heaven be blessed with another quality worker.

It's amazing...every once in a while you think of wrestlers who might pass away dead in a hotel and people like Jake Roberts always come to mind, not atheletes like Curt Henning...

My heart wants to say that it was something natural but my mind knows all to well.

I still don't understand why they go

How do you mean that? Is it on CNN or something? It's not like Henning was Andre or Owen...

Just got home and flipped on the 'net. Last news I was expecting to hear. Sad day in wrestling history.

This may sound dumb, but one of the things I'll always remember about Curt was how he spit out his gum. When I was a kid I would always try and do that with my gum. The first time I did it I thought it was great.

I'll also remember that he sold a punch better than anyone else.
