Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Countryside Clubbers, Al. Hmm, the league is deceptively close, with the top 6 teams only 7 points apart. League Standings Being six points behind, I'm really hurting at .OBP, with my homerun and RBI totals in the bottom-dwellers of the league. Beltre was definitely not helping matters, so my two additions (Drew and Hillenbrand) will at least improve on my horrific team OBP (.342) to where I can make a move up. On the other hand, your team doesn't seem to have any glaring weaknesses; you just need to break a few category ties.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted June 1, 2003 Not a bad team at all. A little weak on the infield. I have Rollins and Alomar sitting on the bench if you're interested in a trade.
Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 1, 2003 OK, I'm working on it right now. Unless you're willing to deal Kent, Alomar isn't an significant upgrade at my weak .OBP. Rollins is a good player, but I'll pay the price to move up to Renteria or Kent. If you don't want to make those moves, I'll just trade for Rollins, I think. Guest bravesfan Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I'd be willing to see your offers, too.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 1, 2003 I am willing to trade my Outfielders. My team is the Beers.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 5, 2003 I know that Adam Dunn isn't getting a lot of playing time, and he's struggling at the plate when he does, but I can't trade him. And WHOOOHOOO for picking up Jeff Davanon after he hit 2 hrs in back to back nights and then hit 2 again to night.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 5, 2003 That's it, I have way too many outfielders. Higginson, Hunter, Jones and if the offer is good enough, Klesko are all on the block. I'm looking for a good SS or a pitcher with a fair amount of saves.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Today was a good day for my team! HRs from Lopez, Jones, Dunn, Bonds and Vidro.. and I didn't start Chacon, who gave up 12 ER in 3 innings!
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I hate inter league play, because of it my ERA went from around 3.60 to what will be in the near 5 or 6 range. The Angels vs Expos series has given me so much grief. After watching the Angels win the 1st 2 games by huge margins, I decided to bench my best pitcher Javier Hernadez. But what happens! He gets 11Ks and a ERA below 3.

Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Granny by Sweeney in Game 1 today, NIIIIIIICE. Oh, and can I say that Dennis Eckersley SUCKS in the booth?
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Yes I got the name wrong I got Livan and Javier confused. Javier Lopez the catcher of the Braves is my favorite player right now, he is a Home Run Machine!
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Yes I got the name wrong I got Livan and Javier confused. Javier Lopez the catcher of the Braves is my favorite player right now, he is a Home Run Machine! Yeah, and in the official league he was sitting on the waivers a couple weeks ago..amazing. Glad I got him.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I think I made a nice pickup with Dontrell Willis, too bad I'm out of contention.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I picked up Brad Wilkerson the other day and he has produced 2 Homeruns! I am glad I got rid of Reggie Sanders.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Sanders as done nothing since that hot start he had. You can kind of see why he's been on so many teams, I think he's huge underachiever.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Well Reggie Sanders did not get alot of starts for whatever reason and when he did play he did well as a power hitter. I missed out on alot of his HRs and RBIs since I had him on the bench forever because I never knew when he would play.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted June 8, 2003 It's tough to know what a player like Sanders is going to do. He' capable of playing very well and he's also just has capable of playing like this.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 8, 2003 Another 2 HR day for Javy Lopez, plus HRs from A. Jones, Batista and Abreu so far. The sad thing though is that my pitchers have totally fallen apart. I might need to construct some sort of trade for pitching if things don't get better soon. Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 8, 2003 ::Dangles a few of his best pitchers in front of Marvin's face:: I'll take Gonzalez or Javy off your hands and I'll throw in Jacque Jones if I can get one of your closers.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 8, 2003 I'm having the same problems myself Marvin, I'm going to be patient and wait it out. Just like that Yahoo Sports writer said "Is punting going to save your league?" I hope so. Javy Lopez does rule.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 9, 2003 Im going to tough it out. Hopefully, between the 2 or 3 good pitchers I do have, I might be able to pull something out. Oh, and I really don't have 3 closers of which to choose from for a trade. Borowski, although he's been pitching well in the closers role, suposedly won't stay the Cubs closer. Im just happy to have 3 legit closers for a while. As good as he's been pitching, Im hopeful that Baker won't make the idiot move of taking him out of the closer role. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Ryan Franklin gives my pitching staff a nice lift! Amazing he was on the waivers not too long ago.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 13, 2003 What is amazing is that the Stennicks is in 3rd place in the other league and has 2 F'N players on DL that are starting! I hate you for having a good draft.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 13, 2003 I don't know if I have ever drafted a better OF before in a league - Bonds(1rst), Abreu(2nd), Dunn(3rd) and A. Jones (6th)..and I got Vazquez in the 8th Round..the rest of my draft was crap though..and considering it was a list draft, I guess I was just lucky more than anything.. Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 13, 2003 I still hate the Stennicks for doing so well without changing the team in months, DAMN YOU whoever you are. My draft went average with Smoltz and Vazquez as the big pitcher picks. At the batter position I got Rafael Furcal and Preston Wilson putting up decent numbers with Ivan Rodriguez and Ryan Klesko doing ok but miss too many games. Key Free Agent pick ups were Javy Lopez, Kenny Lofton, Brad Wilkerson. Once my ERA gets better I shall be on top again.
Guest alkeiper Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Give it up. I have claimed my rightful place on my throne, and I'm not about to lose it.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted June 13, 2003 Well Commish I can easily over take you in HRs, OBP, Saves ERA in a week or so. I am expecting a big game against the Tigers by Chacon.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted June 14, 2003 I proposed a trade to Diamond in the Rough. I'm not trading either Woody Williams or Mussina, so don't ask. I'm still willing to trade Jones or Hunter, since I can't play them both too regularly and are just wasted on my roster.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted June 16, 2003 Somehow, I've been on a tear over the last week. Over 100 pts and only 8 back of first. The only two stats holding me back are WHIP and SBs. Im going to try and get the SBs back up..not much I can do about the WHIP as long as my pitchers are getting good results in the other areas.
