Smart Marks Fantasy Baseball League?

Jacque Jones. Not in regards to his OBP, which is about right, but his stolen base numbers. He's got 6. He had 6 all of last year. The year before he had 12, and 7 the year before that. He's not that good of a base stealer.

Well, the trade is off for a couple of days, since he has a strained Quad muscle.

Back to the drawing board.

::grumbling:: I've been unable to change my roster for most of this week, due to our intermittent and annoying recurring internet problems at work. I never think of doing it at home the night before, for some reason...

Bad News one of my best players Klesko is out for unknown time period.

Good News the pitcher that beemed him is also on my team and gave me a much needed Win.

Hey Marvin, got another trade proposal comin' your way.

I think it's pretty fair, but I'm willing to negotiate.

Damn. With Piazza out, that Lieberthal trade looks pretty bad now. I'll have to count on Greg Myers to keep hitting, because there's nothing out there.

I'm willing to trade some of my pitching for offense.

how about that trade I just offered?

wierd..

Its basically sweeney for Castillio, but I need to clear a roster spot for Redman when he comes off the DL on friday, and instead of dumping Jenkins who has some value as a hitter (not much even for his #'s though) on the waivers, I figure it made sense to include him in the trade.

Basically its Sweeney and Jenkins for Castillo/Redman..sort of..

Didn't see it before, but I'll take it.

But Tom, do we have to wait until Sunday to make this happen?

Good. I really need to get the SB total up. It might look like a bad trade, but I can afford to trade Sweeney with Dunn/Gibbons and I'd rather have Redman than Jenkins just because I need the low ERA/strikeouts over a streaky power hitter.

And I hope Dr. Tom can get this through early so I can start Redman on friday..

Aye, and I could use all the streaky power I can get, since my linepu ain't exactly lighting it up this year. Plus, I keep my two top pitchers (Woody and Moose)

I think I can pickup a few SB points now, with Castillo who should (knocking on wood) be good for 20 more steals, and Abreu, who is coming around and should be good for 20 more steals as well (knock on wood again).

Also, maybe in about 2 weeks I'll be looking to trade a pitcher or two. If anyone wants a starter, keep an eye out, since I can't carry all the pitchers I picked up recently. Chances are it will be Tim Redding and/or Jason Johnson.

But Brandon Webb is missing his next start, and Chacon scares me pitching away from Coors (huh?) since his #'s are horrible on the road.

What's amazing about my team (13th) is I have Mulder, and Morris arguably the best starter in each pitchers respective league this year and Rivera the best closer in the AL. Too bad the rest of the players can't produce.

You abused your powers when we asked and did so in a timely fashion Tom. Kudos.

Those of you in my unofficial league, please note that due to the Red Sox-D'backs trade, Shea Hillenbrand is on the waiver wire. He comes off June 2nd, so get your claim in by then if you want him.

Wow, you're a nice commissioner. That's something I'd let people discover for themselves, but that's also the competitor in me talking.

Two reasons.

1. I have Edgardo Alfonzo, and I don't need Hillenbrand, and I am not putting in a waiver claim.

2. We use OBP as a stat.

Bravesfan, which team are you?

Hmm, the league is deceptively close, with the top 6 teams only 7 points apart.
