There's a lot of cool little stories in there and I think Bobby would have done well to go even more into that direction. Although, I wished he would have spent more time talking about the WCW, because I believe he has a lot of incite on how just horrible the company was during that period. Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted March 8, 2003 I don't think DK is stuck on himself. He tells thing matter-of-factly and doesn't embellish on stories like Hogan or Piper do. If he's talking about putting somebody over, he'd use a phrase like " If we fought the next night, the match would be up in the air for me. That's true." He keeps it simple, which to me is more believeable. For me it's a toss up between Pure Dynamite and Have A Nice Day. I didn't see much bitterness in Foley's book, so I'd love to hear your reasons. I just picked up that he didn't like his fans imitating him, but to a much extreme degree (slams thru flaming tables and such). He seemed like he'd rather kids learn their craft instead of doing insane moves to get noticed. My List of Favorite Wrestling Biographies: 1. Have A Nice Day--Just the fact that he covered most of his career makes it tops for me. 2. Pure Dynamite--I picked up the bitterness in his book, but still think it's a good read regardless. 3. Bodyslams--This is a book about ring announcer Gary Micheal Cappetta, really good read that I'd recommend picking up if you can find a copy. Just seeing how the WWF changed over the years is interesting enough 4. Bobby the Brain Heenan--Interesting read on a few topics, but I felt it could have been a bit longer 5. Arn Anderson--Same deal with Heenan, but still a good read. 6. In the Pit with Piper--He keep explaining who people are and stuff like that in the middle of his stories, after he had already explained them. Thus detracting from them. Where's the love for If They Only Knew? This book and The Rock's book are 2 of the worst I've ever read. Chyna just comes off as a she's The Shit, but really ain't worth a shit. The Rock's, he goes into character and doesn't talk much about his WWF career. Edit--Forgot about Angle's book. To me it's really good, but he really hadn't been in the business long enough.
