From an OAOASTer to the SWF:

Wow. Granted, I still prefer the OAOAST's style of writing, after reading From the Fire up and down, I have to admit it was one of the BEST shows I've ever read, OAOAST or otherwise. Congratulations to everyone, especially the main event. Outstanding~!

The fact that we drew an OAOAST guy over here and amazed him with the show is pretty cool in and of itself.

Oh, and thanks King. :D

Wow... what a show, what a show!

Neilsen shows to the rest of you how badass he really is. A truly mark out promo and finish to the ICTV title match... and it's a damn good thing it was Neilsen, because noone else can get away with that type of ending. Although war on the SWF... that's my job you little fuck. ;) I also stole your Hardcore King claim while you were gone... come get it motherfucker.

Now I haven't read any full matches, but all the promos and the finishes for each match.

The set up promos before each match were the shit! I was happy that whoever did that before my match. Kris and Kross were hilarious... Please feed them to me, King! PLEASE!!!

Mike Craven is the Nightmare!!! Ohhh... scary. Heh heh heh.

Janus with a nice debut.

Sorry Wildchild... your buddy had it coming. I hope we get another match though, your character has loads of spots to fill out with.

Danny Williams puts over one of my favourite superstars in which was no doubt a classic match. I again read the ending and hope the rest of the match is just as good. It probably will be, and I hope I get the chance to face both of you in the near future.

Justice and Rule are the new tag team champions in a match I'm not sure who wrote... but that was a nice finishing move. Another match I look forward to reading...

Now TNT... You son of a bitch. I honestly didn't think you stood a chance. You best not be a lazy fuck though this month like other From the Fire winners(Facts is facts, you still my boys though)... or I will personally slap you silly. Your match has an ending that looks like it will lead to a good story. Let's see that kick in. We have a new start, with a new champ. I can go hurt that Mexican slut now... hee hee hee.

Although I didn't vote for all of them, all the hall of famers deserved to be in there. I can give reasons off the top of my head for each one, and I'm betting most of you can to.

From the Fire 2003, was a PPV. It seriously reminded me of that vibe I got when I got bumped for Genesis III. Neilsen's promo was so ridiculously well done. His gimmick and how it helps leaps and bounds with using the crowd, plus just the concept of his reason for returning, it was unbelievable. Even the small things like Riley bitching because of how Neilsen treated him in the IGN era... and I think staying with tradition and starring out parts of f**kin' made the promo all the better.

The bumpies opening the card did a wonderful job with a stip that I know I would have had trouble dealing with. Both you guys worked your asses off and made me a believer. You guys have the skills. You guys have the ability. It's up to you how far you take yourselfs. Janus and Mike, I salute a great end to a JL feud. Drew and I are still the best two man bumpie class, to have a PPV match against each other though ;)

Neilsen beat Frost... it was a tie, with a tie breaker that I don't know about, but all the same he beat Frost. I never got to see Neilsen's work before and it was a treat to read his match. The McTwist is alive and well! And some pretty decent storylines can evolve from this match.

JD is beingz the man and this is HIS HOUSE! I was wondering if you were going to throw Johnny into or outside of the cage... but at least Johnny gets back in, which is good in my book as I think the guy can write. I really must say that the cage played its part well and this Franchise is pleased that King may just grant JD his shot at the US title as a reward for the punishment he dished out.

Both the Kris Kross promos were great. I wonder which two people are returning. Thrillseekers is a wonderful gimmick for characters and will lead to an interesting moveset, if in fact, they study the 'Idiot's guide to Wrestling handbook'

Ash's promo was very well done. In fact, if you write your matches with the level of seriousness I felt in this promo you'll be well on your way to overcoming the pokemon gimmick.

Man, that was what I saw in my head, when I PMed you during the beginning of our little feud and said... you know what, we need to do a 60 minute Ironman. I'm disapointed in myself for not being able to spend more time on my match, as I really looked forward to it. I know that you are as well, since we both missed our word goals by a lot, but quite frankly it doesn't matter because together we accomplished one of my goals for the new year. Create a feud that had people talking and elevated both wrestlers to that next level. Well done and it doesn't hurt that you made my character look like a million bucks eithers.

The tag match was very good and had a solid theme throughout. Justice and Rule are the next coming of Chilly Chilly Bang Bang... I'm sure that Drew and I will have something to say about that... if he still wants to put up with me that is. The one thing I don't want is for the M7 to break up as it is the only heel stable around... maybe a name change and reduction by one member will fix that, as it seems all but in the works now.

I have yet to read the ME and since TNT won, I think he should give me a new movie to watch before I comment... so yeah thats what I'm waiting on.

Overall it's a mediocre show because of TNT becoming our World champion, but other than that it would have been gangbusters. ;) The little lead ins to each match fit perfectly and made this feel like a Televised PPV. I seriously can't believe we did something this good without the likes of an Edwin MacPhisto, Sacred, Chris Wilson, Raynor or Bo on the card, like back at Genesis. Maybe 2003 won't be such a bad year for the fed, if we keep doing like we're doing.

- Congratulations to Sacred. I voted for Raynor in his exclusion, but it was a very, very difficult choice, and I can't believe that anyone would say he doesn't deserve it.

- I've skimmed practically everything, and sadly, there's not much else for me to say. It was a great show up and down starting off with a bang with the Australian Something Or Other and ending with TNT winning. If he ever says he sucks again, I'll kill him.

Oh, and just for the record, Judge wrote the opening, Ejiro wrote the middle and I wrote the finish of the tag match. We wanted Frost to have as much time as he possibly could to devote to his ICTV match.

God damn.

Kudos to an awesome group of writers and an incredible PPV. Every single match on this card was something special. Every... fucking... match.

Now, a few post show notes:

No no-shows? Outstanding. I think as a reward, we need to get Mark rolling on those SWF T-shirts.

It's so hard to possibly choose a Match of the Night because they were all so fucking great. I really marked out during the Ironman match, and of course I loved the much anticipated M7 Tag Title showdown. And TNT as new champ? A surprise, but a welcome one. Pure gold, motherfucker.

I'd like to address the ICTV title situation for a moment. Unless I hear another ruling from King, I'm marking down in my title history that two title changes took place last night, and I'm marking Frost down as a two-time ICTV champion.

Who the hell are Kris and Kross? Other than a retarded rap group of the early 90's.

One final note. I find it interestingly ironic that the entirety of the WF Kliq entered into the Hall of Fame on the same year... but seriously, congratulations to all the new inductees.

Roar mother f**kers.

I will now be accepting written apologies by everyone that doubted the original Hardcore King. I will not wear the ICTV Title and as far as I'm concerned it was Neilsen's second title reign and now it's Frost's second title reign.

That said...you really had better apologize...but that said, heh, good show on eveyone's part and way to f**kin' go TNT. Of course, now that you've deprived me of the joy of ending the longest World title reign in that belt's history... Well, I'll just leave it at that.

I'd just like to say this fed always brought me such enjoyment and this last PPV showed everyone why. I'm not just happy to be a part of this again, but I'm proud to be. I never would have left if I didn't need to and now I can show Neilsen to a whole new audience. This is going to be fun.

P.S. Wildchild, my stats'll be up soon.

And...oh yeah...

Jay Dawg really does suck.

First off, let me say, great show, homeslices and homeskillets all around.

Okay, I want to commend Xero and Heat for the great work that they did with the Bra & Panties match, although it didn't, and no B&P match will ever equal JD's, it was still great.

Jesus, good match, good to see you beat Siclen, who's a t00l and such. GOOOOO JEEESUS!!

NotJ, there are those of us that already knew your skills, and it was proven and such. Ah...I still remember when I was crucified or some such by Neilsen. Best moment of GOAT's career...well, that and throwing Wilson off a double cage or whatever (And I'm rambling)

Uh, other matches and such...yay for things, like people winning, and blood coming from people's faces.

TNT, hurrah for you. You'll be getting a gift basket of fried babies and such. Just make sure your parents don't see it, unless they're cool with baby eating.

Kris and Kross, huh? I wonder who they could be...and judging by the way they spell words, I'm going to have to guess it's Chris Storm, and someone or something else, because face it, back in the day, Storm would tag with anybody/anything. I mean, Xtreme and Chris Wilson? This is after Xtreme finished tagging with Funyon, mind you. If Storm's not right, then I'll just list people from the IGNWF...I'm bound to get it right eventually...

Once again, happy fun show all around!

All I gotta say is wow.

Janus. Hats off to you, for putting out a great match. Hard stipulation to do, but it was a great put out.

...aw shit. I forget who's next. Dammit. Hang on, I wanna make sure I do these things properly. *goes figure out who the hell is next*

Alright. Back again. Neilson (hope I spelled that right) you bastard. Nice match, and a heck of a return. Good luck in getting that World Title.

Now I don't know who won that match of J-Dawg and Wildchild, but DAMN~! That's just sickly nice Hardcore Cage Match. Well, I mean who wrote it (JD?) not who won. Wildchild won, but Jay delivers the hurt.

Kris and Kross. You guys bloody f'n rock~! Great promos, and can't wait to find out who you are. I'm so calling King, Kingsly from now on...

Williams, you put out a hell of a match. Commentary just blew me away. Great stuff, and although, I kinda thought you'd win it. Still great stuff~!

Who the hell ever did those little tale thingys before each match did a hell of a job on them. I mean, it got me excited for the matches and I couldn't stop reading them.

Yo, Craven. Cool promo dude. Can't wait to see where this going. Keep it up.

...God, so much to comment on, and so much to freaking get through. Excuse me while I take a moment to rest... *takes a drink of his pepsi nearby* ...ah... Where was I?

Great tag match~! Damn, I'm saying great to f'n much~! Ejiro and Judge are the new tag team champions~!!! WOOO~! GO JUDGE AND RULE~~~~!

...and as for TNT. YOU SON OF A BITCH~! You won the World Title~! And with such a damned awesome match~! That was one hell of a stipulation and greatly played out. Way to go~!

Damn~! Great PPV~! I loved reading every moment of it.

Aww, but adding that clause means you wouldn't be able to defend your title against the Neilsen Ratings.

TNT vs RATINGS = RATINGS~!

...so if you derive that, TNT= ~!

You're the champ, so I guess you are worth a tilde bang.

So I finally finished the main event, which was one heck of a read. Here's my write-up for that match alone.

First of all, the introductions are pretty solid. I'm generally not one for "copy and paste big chunks of other matches/promos" as a strategy for opening the match, but it worked well here because TNT used only the most important chunks and interspersed them with fitting commentary--all in all, it played as a really solid setup and made the feud look like it was more complex than it had been. Great touch. The intros were explosive up the wazoo, and coupled with King's pre-match Tale of the Tape, made the main event feel like the biggest one in a long time.

The actual match was excellent, and the greatest contributor to this was a clear and astute use of both commentary and environmental details to make sure the reader knew what was happening for both guys at all times. The way the interactions were written--Mag scrambling out from under TNT, Mag using his speed and mobility to lock in all those cradles and roll-ups at the beginning, TNT flipping him 180 with a huge clothesline--painted a better portrait of how either guy actually moves, attacks, and acts in the ring than I've seen before. Solid sells on the moves, too--the nature of the match allowed for a lot of interesting falls, and I especially loved the figure-four story throughout. It was perfect--TNT plays the persistent and smart heel, going back to the submission and using his much larger frame to simply power into it, and Mag refuses to tap because he doesn't want to give up...but as Stevens and Riley suggest, Mag might be in trouble if he doesn't get out of a big submission in a multi-fall match. Mag eventually taps, but he's hurt--it was an effective moment where you could really feel that Mag had lost something and that the sense of power was shifting. At first I was a bit put-off by the occasional moments where Mag seemed to get dominated, but then realized that I was just seeing the TNT character really become a star--Mag was getting plenty of shots in and absolutely owned the world with the BCC/MPP combo, but TNT kept coming back. It was a strong portrayal of both characters, and by the time the finish rolled around, I was heartbroken when Mag's leg just simply gave out on the top rope--no deficiency of spirit, mind, or attitude, but simply a failing of the body that he could not help. The champ had everything, but in a physical showdown TNT was that one tiny step the better man.

The end result is that both characters look amazing coming out of this match. They've each won several falls, each nailed finishers, and in the end it was just an absolute character-defining moment for TNT when he hit the Boilermaker for the win. When he first told me he was planning that for his ending, I was skeptical as to if it would be cheesy or not, but it played out perfectly--that, plus astute commentary throughout lay the seeds for TNT to take his character any direction he wants and perhaps feud with the Boilermaker Master himself sooner or later.

A few criticisms, and very few at that: for one, I thought that the CIA interference was kinda cool, but unnecessary. On the pro side, it gave him face time on the PPV, referred back to earlier Carnie promo interaction, and provided a nice change of pace in a very long match, breaking up the Mag/TNT stuff significantly. In execution, though, I thought it was lacking--the notion that CIA would come down with that chair and go as far as to swing without consideration for the fact that he would cost Mag the world title was something I absolutely could not buy. In terms of ends it ensured that TNT would lose a fall by whacking Mag and then gain it back immediately thereafter, but altogether I give this section a marginal thumbs down.

I also thought the Daybreak at the end was a bit contrived--at that point Mag was simply running on adrenaline and fumes, and I felt a more instinctual move would have played better, even it was just a monster neckbreaker or the biggest lariat his little frame could muster. It also seemed like a bit of "other people's moves" overkill and wasn't nearly as cool as the finishing Boilermaker.

My only other loose criticism? Too many superkicks. I would have liked a little more variety, and the numerous ones that Mag hit kind of undermined the one absolutely murderous one he nearly KOed TNT with. Altogether, though, an amazing match that made TNT a star while even raising Mag's fighting spirit, tenacity, and heart. I waver between ****1/4 and ****1/2 on a personal scale. I think it's definitely the best match TNT has ever written. Congratulations, man.

Don't worry, Danny. Yours will inevitably be better anyway, since I mostly go on how neato stuff was, without paying too too much attention to logical flow of tech sequences.

*cough* Well, ELM wanted CIA interferance in the match, it was only a few hours before the match was due... and I was sort of just hoping that no one would notice the total lack of logic, there. ;)

Oh, and I cannot take credit for the pre-match promos and the Tale of the Tape. Those were written by Tod deKindes, who graciously volunteered under his own volition to add a little something to the PPV.

Let's see... I've now read Neilsen/Frost and Danny/Mak all the way through...

Danny... you insanely put over the Franchise! Damn that was an awesome match to read... and although I read the ending... I didn't know the score... and jesus... after the Deathbombs and the Dangerous Backdrop... I thought the score was going on... the super gutwrench was another nice spot... that I thought was a fall. I think maybe some of them should have had a fall each at one point. However an AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME match my friend.

I loved the ending to Neilsen's match... even if it was a classic Austin finish, I mark for both. The match was brutally sick, where Neilsen considerably cheated to make Frost both look good but vulnerable due to his honorable tactics. An fun match that truly let's us all see the classic badass motherfucking jungle king.

I will proceed to read the bumpers, tag match and the main event later.

Thank alot, you have no idea how happy it makes me to see that somebody bought the near falls. I put alot of effort in the past month actually in getting the moves over to the point that they would be bought as near falls in the Iron Man Match. The Sleeper, Rolling Elbow, Powerbombs, and Dangerous Backdrop.

Sure some of them should have probably been points, but I was really set on writing a straight up 58 minute match while getting over Mak's fighting spirit. The whole match also helped to get over a move I've been neglecting the Juji-Gatame, making the submission hold seem more dangerous than anything else in my arsenal.
