Fabolous To Appear WrestleMania XIX

Recommended Posts

Guest Flyboy
Yes, they serve more of a purpose on a wrestling show having a" match" than some guy that, as several of you have admitted, is not in the main stream and may not be recognized by everyone, make a personal appearence. I don't want either to be there. But at least it will be two minutes of "fun" in the ring as opposed to ten minutes of talking

And once again, Fabolous' appearance serves a purpose. Are you all overlooking at why he's there? Cena's supposedly getting a big push after Mania and WWE as well as many of the people on the board seem to be VERY high on him. Now we all know that he's got a hip-hop gimmick that they're trying to get over and it's going fairly well. So if they're trying to elevate him with the hip-hop gimmick, please tell me how him dueling with a REAL hip-hop artist at the biggest wrestling show of the year serve no purpose? I don't see why some of you continue to insist that this thing serves no purpose.

Because it's rapper "OMG HE SUCKS~!" they don't know, and they can't see past their ignorance.

Because not enough people know who this REAL hip-hop artist is.

Is that Puff Daddy?

Another guy I hate but at least know.

Not everyone in the world is as close-minded as you or the rest of TSM.

I am still trying to figure out how it is close-minded to say "I don't like rap, therefore I don't follow popular rappers"

It isn't like I have never heard rap and just think to myself "Who are all these angry thugs? Why would I listen to their crap?". I have listened to rap, I don't like rap, but I gave it a chance.

Now if that were the case, I'd be ranting on how "Fabulous" has only one 'o.'

I would care significantly less if this was a big name rapper and not "just another celebrity."

I am still trying to figure out how it is close-minded to say "I don't like rap, therefore I don't follow popular rappers"

It somehow also makes us members of the Klan.

I never said that everyone in this thread was close-minded for not following rap.

But it's stupid to think that just because YOU haven't heard of a guy that NO ONE has. That's the old ostrich with his head in the sand syndrome right there. "Because not enough people know who this REAL hip-hop artist is." Who's not enough people; these few morons here who don't even listen to rap to begin with? That's a pretty shoddy litmus test for Fabolous' overall popularity nationwide if you ask me.

And FABOLOUS has more than one "O". It's actually spelled with an "extra" O as opposed to the traditional "U" that's supposed to be there.

I agree with that. I will acknowledge that the people who follow rap will most likely know who he is. But my problem is that he is not mainstream enough like an Eminem or DMX nor is he big enough like a 50 Cent to justify taking time on this PPV. And I didn't agree with Drowning Pool or Saliva doing it either.

Does the main stream media have some vendeta against him and that's why they refuse to cover him?

Is he at least from Seattle? That would make some sense.

Ooh. What a rebel.*

*Idiot.

Anyone who listens to rap should know who Fabolous is, and while not the best known celebrity, his appearance pretty much guarantees press from music-related outlets. Win, lose or draw, it gets Cena some mainstream attention, which is good if they plan on going through with his main event push.

If you are offended by bashing and ignorant attitudes you have come to the wrong folder.

Wait, I thought that's what the No Holds Barred folder was created for? I hope I'm not the only one that comes to the WWE folder for good old fashioned discussion.

And that makes up what percentage of wrestling fans?

You need to have someone the whole audience knows, not just certain parts.

I think whatever folder Anglesault posts in is gonna have ignorance and bashing. And here I thought Banky would be the gimmick poster most likely to ruin this thread.

The mainstream media does cover him but just as advertisers buy time on shows that their consumers are likely to watch, Fabolous shows up covered during things you probably don't see. I doubt you see much Fabolous on the NASCAR channel or fishing shows.

I don't really think so. Minor celebs show up and interact with wrestlers all the time, and no one cares. Those Wassup Assholes, Rebecca Romajn-Stamos, the Hylander cast, Ice Tea/Cube/Pick (Whoever was at Mania 2000)

So, Anglesault and the others here are pretty much the only backwoods and backwards folk who don't know him (Fab)? Figures. Dale Earnhardt, Jr. probably like, leaves his house and stuff.

So...If you don't like rap..You live in West Virginia? And they say I make leaps in logic.

if you seen Junior's House...You can see like a THOUSAND Rap albums...and He also is very anti-Confederate...

If you read his book, He makes references to rap music a lot...

One would hope after 150 years that would be his feeling.

Let it be known that I NEVER took anyone to task in this thread for "not liking rap" or insult the great state of West Virginia.

I meant Anti-Confederate Flag.

I understand you. That should have died when the Union won.

Crucifixio Jones,

Just because someone doesn't like rap it doesn't make them an ignorant sterotypical southern who watches fishing and listens to Lynyrd Skynyrd. Fab isn't that bad, but I do agree with AS what place does this have on Mania and not on Heat?

I don't know about logic, but there is, at least, a leap in topics.

So...why am I living in a trailer with the mountain people?

And if that's why I don't know about this guy, why have I heard of other rappers?

Don't Worry, AS nothing wrong with living in a Trailer...

You heard those other guys most likely because there unavoidable because they are around in other venues then just rap music...

I never said that not liking rap makes you ignorant. It's bashing the genre when you admittedly know nothing about it that's ignorant. Those are the attitudes I was attacking, not people who happen to not like rap. I don't care if you like rap or not.

Y'all should probably go back to the Confederate flag discussion, though, seeing as how it probably has more to do with this topic than most people realize.

And that's been my point all along. You want someone who is known in more than one specific venue, because more people will recognize him.

We weren't talking about the flag....I use it in passing when i used Junior as an example...

I was trying to so that REDNECKS are not allways the stereotype...

So just because you don't like rap, does NOT make you a Redneck living in a trailer in West Virginia...

I never thought I'd see the day when I would actually cheer on Anglesault in a thread debate...

I just hate people putting labels on one another, and these rap folk putting labels on everyone else saying we're all redneck assholes because we don't like rap or whatever is just as bad as if we said they can't appreciate whatever music we listen to because they're all black/hispanic and commit crimes and live in the ghetto.

But shit at least rap music talks about committing crimes and living in the ghetto and shit, so if they get labelled with that it isn't anyone else's fault but theirs. I personally don't give a fuck about any of that, I listen to whatever music is good, I like some rap (any of you ever heard of da fuckin Brotha Lynch?) but I mostly like hard rock and metal. Who the fuck cares and most importantly..

...WHAT THE FUCK DOES THIS DISCUSSION HAVE TO DO IN THE WWE FOLDER IN THE FIRST PLACE?!

I'd wish not to expend any more energy on this subject matter but I feel I probably will be compelled to later...
