I don't think the SSP was neccessary. In fact, I think it was wasted.

I thought this Mania was very good. The SSP botch at the end took ALOT away from Angle/Lesnar, but the hug at the end made up for it.

I'm way too tired, but I'll talk about this tommorow.

Great PPV. Teary Eyed as I watched Angle v. Lesnar. All in all worth the 40 bucks I paid. Thanks WWE.

I can't call it a good show because Booker and Jericho jobbed when all logic stated they should have gone over.

Even with a couple of good matches (Jericho/HBK, Austin/Rock, Lesnar/Angle), I still thought the PPV was sorta 'blah'.

For my money, the card offered precious few surprises. Although it sucked to see HHH and HBK go over, it wasn't really a surprise. There were no big name surprises or run-ins (save Piper of course).

On the positive side, HBK v Y2J was a MOTY candidate and Rock v Austin, the womens three-way and Hogan v McMahon were present surprises. And the Hoss match didn't totally suck! Wow!

On the negative side, the cruisers and three-way tag match weren't given long enough, HHH v Booker was dull and lifeless and Angle v Brock was devoid of crowd heat and, in parts, a definate disapointment. The end of the two world title matches were definate anti-climaxes too.

As for the memorable WretleMania moments, Cena cut a damn good live promo on heat, Y2J and HBK got each other over, Cole nearly lost his voice and Lesnar fucked up the biggest moment of his career so far (and possibly his whole career, poor guy).

Its now 6am in the good old United Kingdom and I'm shot to fuck.

So, discuss B-)

well even if he blew the SSP, it still looked like Angle moved a little so it's not tha bad

great match and great Wrestlemania overall except for two things

- i wanted Jericho to go over Shawn

- The cruiser and Tag matches were too short

still i rate the matches like this

- Matt vs. Rey - ** good, but waaaay too short

- Hosses Tag - *1/2 blah

- Women's - ** pretty solid match here

- Thriple Tag - *** but too short and dissapointing because of that

- HBK vs. Y2J - **** MOTN, but the wrong guy went over, still amazing match here

- HHH vs. Booker - *** decent but kid of slow, wrong person went over again

- Hogan vs. Vince - ** bad match wrestling-wise, but it was good sports entertaiment

- Rock vs. Autin - ***1/2 little fun match here, not too serious, just fun

- Angle vs. Lesnar - ***1/2 too, great match here, no run-ins or anything, straight wrestling, the ending image with both hugging was just amazing

overall alot better than last year's...

i'm off to sleep, bye

Not WWE logic.

Plus the Kliq went over, just like they almost always do at WM. No shock there.

I can call it a good show, botched SSP and Booker/Jericho jobbing notwithstanding, because the two jobs consisted of HHH and HBK lucking out wins after having the crap kicked out of them, and one botched move isn't going to absolutely ruin an excellent match. Star ratings, you ask? Enjoy.

RVD/Kane vs. Morely/Storm: *1/2

Mysterio vs. V1: ***

Taker vs. Show/Albert: -*

Jazz/Trish/Victoria: ***

Team Angle vs. Rhyno/Benoit vs. Guerreros: ***1/4

HBK vs. Y2J: ****1/4

Limp Bizkit: -****************

HHH vs. Booker: **1/2

Hogan vs. Vince: **

SCSA vs. Rock: ***1/2

Brock vs. Angle: ****

Hardy/Rey - **1/4. Decent little cruiser match, nothing much to say otherwise.

Taker/Jones vs. Train/Show - 1/4*. They amaze me at still not letting us laugh at Jones attempting to wrestle, but he didn't botch his two moves and, well, this was about as good as it could have been.

Trish/Victoria/Jazz - *. Trish bumped around a lot, and the finish was pretty good. Standard PPV women's match.

Team Angle/Guerros/Benoit+Rhyno - ***1/4. I certainly enjoyed Eddie and Benoit killing each other when they were, and there was some real solid work surrounding their spots.

HBK/Jericho - ****1/4. Oh my God what a match! The story told was awesome, Michaels brought everything he could and the teased finishes at the end had me screaming at my TV.

HHH/Booker - **1/2. Decent enough match, but Booker losing the way he did totally threw me off.

Vince/Hogan - *. They did an okayish job of hiding their weaknesses by hitting each other with a chair repeatedly, and a nice legdrop through the table by Vince kept it from being unwatchable.

Rock/Austin - ***. This didn't touch their other matches, and was mostly Rock doing the work. It told a decent enough story, but it seemd to go straight from begging to end with no middle.

Brock/Angle - ****. I was the one on here unconvinced that this would be a classic, and then even with Angle's neck they went out there and put on a really good match. Teased finishes even when the end was obvious, good bumping by both men, and especially the hug at the end made this a total classic. Angle went out there and made himself immortal. If this is his last match, he did it very well.

Overall, a solid card with 2 blow-away matches that left me with a good feeling. Good Wrestlemania, really good PPV. Rock/Austin was disappointing, but everything else was exactly how I thought it would be.

Does a "good show" cost $40 to you?

You could buy 4 *excellent* wrestling tapes (about 12-15 hours) for $40 in comparison

I dozed off at the very beginning of Austin/Rock (2nd year in a row I fell asleep during an Austin match ), but I loved the show. Jericho/HBK was great, as was Hogan/McMahon (), and I was feeling Angle/Lesnar even though I would've liked to see Brock hit that SSP.

Only bad spots on the show for me were the catfight skits (I wish they would keep skits off of PPVs unless they serve a REAL purpose) and Booker jobbing. I really didn't mind Shawn going over Jericho because one, the mark in me wanted HBK to get one last WM win, and two, he made Jericho look great in the process...but I don't see the logic in Booker losing clean like that (other than to set up some bullshit Goldberg/HHH feud that I don't wanna see). It's all good if Booker is able to stay in the title picture though...overall it was good.

I still can't believe that Cole said that it was the first time anyone had ever kicked out of the Angle Slam before...

yes, we all know that we could've bought Puro or Lucha (I buy it myself) but we wanted to buy WM...if you can't like that show wrestling wise (ignore the idiotic booking if you have too) then quit watching the WWE.

I enjoyed the actual in ring action alot.

HHH and HBK winning...no surprise there.

What I did love was both Jericho and HHH working a body part...and only one of them paying off. Kliq happens.

Lesnar botching the SSP was something...credit Angle for starting to move and salvaging a finish.

A few non-booking complaints:

The SD! tag match needed another 15 minutes.

Hogan/Vince was so bad it embarassed me as a wrestling fan.

I hate Undertaker.

The fact that they won't acknowledge what Angle did out there tonight during the match represents everything that I hate about pro wrestling.

Also...sick of seeing HBK win matches he should lose with his superhuman back recovery. I don't want to hear shit about how that match had a good story...unless your idea of a good story is "HBK is superman and even a younger better wrestler who works on his near broken back isn't enough to beat him" is a good story.

I did like the match though...but don't give me the "good story" crap.

That was a great show. A fun four hours of wrestling. I got my money's worth and then some. I don't know how you can say that was a wasted move as far as the SSP goes. Everybody has been saying since Day 1 that he should save that for WM. He did. Too bad that Angle was just a LITTLE far away and they had to go to the Plan B finish, but that was still solid.

They basically hyped five major matches and the only one that disappointed me was the HHH-Booker match.

Solid show, no doubt.

There's a thing called "Value" and "Worth". WM should have been *excellent* rather than "good" or "not bad" for the price paid.

My favorite bad commentary line of the night would be...

*Rey-Rey hits a leg-scissors on Matt*

Cole: "Wow! Rey takes Matt down with a twirly-twirly!"

Tazz: "Or what about a dirley-whirley!?"

Cole: "Hahahaha!"

...It made the show, for me.

I thought the show was excellent, as a matter of fact it reminded me a lot of Summerslam last year, as it had excellent matches and horrible booking.

I look forward to the day Jericho gets a win next time on pay per view..

Best Wrestlemania this year!

Well duh, that's rather obvious considering there is only ONE WrestleMania all year, every year.

Um, that was obviously a joke.

Great Show...Shawn and Jericho was ***** for me just because I was more Marky then ever in my life...

Do you guys even realize that Everyone only likes Hogan at Mania...I was with 600 people and all but myself chanted Hogan-Hogan for the whole thing. Brock/Angle wasn't well recieved at first until it got rolling.

LOVED the Set-Up of the venue...very swank...

It really felt "Major" every match save for the chicks had that "This is Huge" feeling. Even the Hoss Tag Match for some bizare reason.

I guess Brock's Botched SSP took away from the Goldberg announcment which SORRY SMARKS but Got the biggest Pop of the night after Hogan's pinfall...and Piper's return.

I think it was a great card which had some fantastic wrestling action. For any of those out there who think that HBK vs. Jericho wasnt a great match or didnt tell a great story you should really try looking at things with your biased thoughts of certain wrestlers away. I was at the edge of my chair from every near pin fall in the hbk/jericho. Even Hogan vs. McMahon was entertaining stuff for what it was. i have no complaints about the show, and though it was well worth the $40 bucks i didnt pay B-)

What's with all the **** ratings for Jericho/Michaels? It didn't even touch 4-stars. It was in at about *** from where I sit. HBK's superhuman comebacks just negate the good stuff.

A lot of decent matches, but no match that was memorable. I think you've got to put this Wrestlemania in the lower tier. Y2J - HBK was good, Austin - Rock was good, Angle - Lesnar was good, but there was nothing special.

It sucked to see Hot Rod out there looking like someone's Grandpa. Hogan is obviously broken down and shouldn't wrestle again until his retirement match at Wrestlemania XX.

It's about being a Real Fan not a fucking Dickhead with a Ratings Clipboard...The emotion and the drama and the intentsity that I went through during that match made it ***** for me.

I thought that the worst thing on that PPV was the "cat fight" that was so horrible

the best thing was the fans, they were hillarious, the guys in the back with the 1-2-3 signs were great

Some of you guys need to take the smark vision glasses off for a minute and enjoy the actual entertainment. Some of You guys could let a great match be played down as being just good just because you dont like one of the participants in that match. Is the guy (HBK) an asshole? probably.......Has he held people down in the past? definitely.....was his match with Jericho a great see saw battle with a lot of drama and excitement worthy of motn? You bet your ass! Give the freakin guy his props and stop being bitches about everything. He makes a comeback and it s a terrible "superman comeback", but yet when angle kicks out of an F5, or any smark darlings make a great comeback it's a "holy shit" moment. Be fuckin fair and call it the way it is.
