Guest Dmann2000 Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 Okay, what the hell was that dumb crap they had for HHH's music at Backlash 99. Obviously they hadn't settled on "My Time" yet. But still, for a guy supposed to be getting a big heel push he got saddled with some damn crappy music out of the gate.
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 That would be "Higher Brain Pattern." I know it sounds stupid. To me, it sounds like doves being tortured. Anyway, HHH had first used "No Chance In Hell" as his theme music after he turned heel and joined the Corporation but at Backlash, "Higher Brain Pattern" debuted. He continued using it through May and into June but before King of the Ring, the music was modified and Connecuit Yankee supplied the lyrics and "My Time" was born. Hope that anwsers your question. I remember EVERYTHING about RAW and SmackDown! from 1999.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted April 6, 2003 Report Posted April 6, 2003 For the record, "My Time" kicked ass.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I like the E&C and Kazoo version best
Guest CanadianChris Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Ah, the dying seagulls. Those were the days.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 It didn't sound like dying seagulls to me, it just sounded like dumb generic rock riffs, are you sure you're remembering the music he came out to at Backlash 99?
Guest Stunt Granny Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Yeah I don't think you're talking about the right theme. After HHH turned heel he used No Chance in Hell for a few weeks then some generic theme. HHH still had his "DX" look at Backlash and a week or so later he started wearing the short tights and started using the theme that would evolve into "My Time".
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I still wish they would have left his May/June theme alone and not added lyrics. As for the actual Backlash theme, they probably didn't want him coming out to No Chance, but had nothing better to give him. I know some dark match jobbers at TV Tapings still use it though.
Guest HartFan86 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 It wasn't Higher Brain Pattern. He had used No Chance in Hell up to Backlash, then he used that generic theme song...then at Over the Edge 99 debuted "My Time" instrumental (aka Higher Brain Pattern), then at Fully Loaded 99 used "My Time".
LooseCannon25 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I know what he's talking about. He used some tremendously lame generic song that sounded like a wanna be Cactus Jack song. It was terrible, and the thing that made it worse was his titantron. it was him still in his Hunter Hearst Helmsley jockey tights trying to look all mean with his hair looking gay as hell. Awful stuff, but i think he only used that theme for 3 or 4 shows including Raws.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Yeah, music sucked, but the match with X-pac was tight....Hmmmm I wonder why?
Guest Dmann2000 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Okay "My Time" vs "The Game" which wins?
Guest Michael Joel Benoit Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Yes I made a mistake. He didn't use "Higher Brain Pattern" at Backlash 99. He just used some generic rock n' roll theme song. He also didn't have a titantron yet. But if you listen closely to the theme, you'll fine some elements of "My Time" in it. But you have to listen real closely. I actually did like "Higher Brain Pattern" better than "My Time." I downloaded it on Kazaa a few years back.
Guest WhenDanSaysJump Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Wasn't HHH's Backlash 99 music the same generic rock bleh that DDP wound up using?
Guest eiker_ir Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Okay "My Time" vs "The Game" which wins? i like The Game more, but both are pretty good
LooseCannon25 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I like "Higher Brain Power" more when it had more of an electronic sound to it. That was tight. And i also really liked the remix of it at Armageddon 2000 in the 6-pack HIAC
Garth Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 I prefer "The Game" but "My Time is also a sweet enternce music.
DrVenkman PhD Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 IIRC, HHH's music at Backlash was the generic theme Bull Buchanan later used around and at KOTR 2000.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 "My Time" had a better "hook" and was better music for a heel. "The Game" is specifically designed for the sole purpose of getting a pop those first five seconds.
The Dames Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 I've got to disagree with you Zsasz. "The Game" was also designed to give HHH a better entrance with the whole spitting water and posing during the bridge. Dames - *poses, spits water*...Bringing Back The Classics.
Guest Kotzenjunge Posted April 11, 2003 Report Posted April 11, 2003 "My Time" > "The Game." Fo rillz.
LooseCannon25 Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 1, 2...is this on? You ever notice the words to the ending of My Time. "Does anyone know who's sleeping with who around here?"
Guest The Tino Standard Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 That is INCREDIBLY ironic. Also, anybody know where I can download "Higher Brain Pattern" or the HHH theme from Backlash 99?
Guest Dmann2000 Posted April 14, 2003 Report Posted April 14, 2003 1, 2...is this on? You ever notice the words to the ending of My Time. "Does anyone know who's sleeping with who around here?" You Jimmy hit me with that Triple H Here comes trouble Not gonna listen to anybody Tell me who and what to be MY TIME!
Guest Steviekick Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 "The Game" is superior only due to the fact that it is performed by Motorhead. Lemmy = God
