More on Goldberg/Jericho

Recommended Posts

DH...so what if Jericho went up to him first? Goldberg initiated the physicality of it and did so in a violent, potentially serious manner and Jericho defended himself.

It seems as if you're afraid to blame Goldberg at all for this.

By executing a front face lock, Jericho shows that he has more patience than I. I would've kicked the motherfucker in the balls

Goldberg: Hey Jericho You Suck and your Small and you don't Selllll Sticks his Tongue out and walks towards his Limo.

Those two defenitley belong together. Both completely childish and funny.

Because Jericho should have just let it slide. Yes Goldberg was wrong for both saying what he did, and for grabbing Jericho, but we don't know EXACTLY what happened. So I'm basing my opinion simply on the FACT that had Jericho not went up to him, then this would not have happened. For all we know Jericho went up to him being this badass trying to start shit, he shouldn't have done it. He should have understood that it would only lead to something negitive. Even more, it was stupid of him to get in the face of Vince's new "guy" on his second night there. It's not right if Jericho is the only one punished (but no one will be), but it will not suprise me if he is.

Neither one of them used their heads, but it could have been avoided.

I disagree. Jericho has the right at this point to let the weight of his views be felt. If he approached Goldberg about it and Goldberg childishly wrapped his arm around Jerky's throat, I'm glad Jerky showed him not to screw with Y2J. AND, Jerky apparently did it in the safest way possibly that ended the fight easily. I think Jericho accomplished all the goals I would have wanted to there.

From my personal experience, transfer this exact situation to another occupation and Goldberg would be the one getting fired. No matter what Chris said about him, he should've kept his cool.

Once again, it seems as if you're deflecting all of the blame off of Goldberg and onto Jericho.

According to this, Goldberg was unprofessional and was talking shit about him. How do YOU know that Jericho didn't go up to him and try to speak to him calmly about it? You're assuming.

These are the facts, according to this story.

Goldberg said some things about Jericho.

Jericho confronted Goldberg about it.

Goldberg attacked Jericho.

Jericho defended himself.

If you think Jericho confronting Goldberg is worse than Goldberg attacking Jericho, then you've got to seriously work out some issues man.

Yes, if Goldberg had kept his damn mouth shut in the first place. I'm sure Jericho's tired of what's been going down and I don't doubt that he felt that he and Goldberg's feud from WCW didn't need to be continued in WWE, which is just what seems like what Goldy was going for.

In a similar situation if they were bus drivers, yes they would be fired. I look at wrestlers more like a baseball team or something like that, a proffesion where there are only a limited number of peeps who can do it, and you have time constraints on when you can replace peeps. (like you can't release your shortstop a week before the playoffs without repercussions.) So the thought of Goldberg deserving to be fired, etc. is just silly cause it takes a lot to get in trouble much less released in a comparable situation. Look at the freaking Trailblazers....

And again, for like the 10th time does anyone find it strange that only 1Bob knows about this? No Meltz, no torch, no Law?

theres also maybe in Jericho's mind he feels he is in a better position in the WWE than he was in WCW. Granted many of us believe that Jericho's talent deserves greater consideration And World title shots and pushes.... But Still when he was in WCW and Goldberg was there..... Jericho was the WCW joke, very talented but no one gave a damn about him because it was all about the nWo the old guys and Goldberg....... Now Jericho since 99 has been a predominated figure in the WWE. and may feel more than the standard Insult in what Goldberg may have said because Jericho has finally proven himself to be a Main eventer, and Goldberg still treats him like some Piss ant Comedy act that he felt and Bischoff agreed at the time was BELOW his standards.

thats just a theory

lmao at Downhome's logic. "if jericho hadn't gotten in his face, none of this wouldn't have happened."

you know what? If Goldberg hadn't TRIED TO CHOKE JERICHO, it wouldn't have happened either. My god, Goldberg "threw the first punch" (though it was a choke).. in my book, whoever starts violence is at fault. And don't say Jericho was baiting him, because if anybody was baiting, it was the person who made the comments in the first place.

Goldberg initiated the verbal conflict with his comments.

Goldberg initiated the physical contact, this for sure definetly puts him at fault. If Jericho had walked up to him and tried to choke him, I'd be blaming Jericho. It's as simple as that. You are blind man.

why is it that all fights between wrestlers seem to end in front facelocks? jericho/goldberg, ddp/that other guy from that 'have a nice day' anecdote who i can't remember, bret/shawn...the winning strategy seems pretty obvious here, so if you're going to get into a fight with another wrestler, why even bother with stuff like punches or choking? why not just sneak up behind him & go for the front facelock?

Personally, I'd rather wail on a guy than choke him out and possibly kill him that way. That's only a last resort for me.

It's also a way to contain a guy if don't want him to keep wailing on you, which is why I think wrestlers end up in it.

It was pretty stupid of the new guy on his second night of work to immediately start talking shit about his co-workers. That takes a lot of chutzpah.

Who the hell decides make a frontal assault or fight, or brush someone off, or defend oneself using a Choke????

I believe him Choking Jericho was some sort of a way to just show Jericho is nothing to him. Choking is Intimindation. Its like Im Goldberg I can Do what I want and theres nothing you can do about it. Thats what it appears it represents And Jericho Slapped it away and Slapped on a front face lock, if true, thats like saying Fuck that bitch...

Sorta speak heh

well if this is all true.... and if my theory is correct that is...

I Doubt Goldberg actually thought it would be a fight.......

He probably was gonna Choke, say something Smart ass and shove Jericho away before walking off feeling good about himself. Because who would dare defend themselves against the AWESOME powah of the Golden One?

Problem was Jericho got out of it and the fight erupted there.

Seems more like Jericho swatted him away and ended the fight before it became a fight.

I say punish Jericho by immediately shipping him to Smackdown and making him feud for the world title with Brock.

That would teach him!

"What really happened backstage at Raw"

by Willie the Worker

Chris Jericho pulled a Donnie Brasco. Goldberg was walking by and wanted to say hi to Jericho but Jericho didn't want his friends to know that the Douchberg knew him. So Jericho just started beating the shit out of him and said "the sick fuck grabbed my cock!".

Woo hoo another scoop!

I told you that Jericho more than likely got in Goldberg's face instead of the other way around.

I know it's already been said about 20 times, but Goldberg was talking junk about Jericho behind his back. When Jericho confronted him about it Goldberg grabbed him by the throat, at which point Jericho took him down with the facelock. If you're trying to make a point for your boy at least make it a good one.

So DH if someone talks trash about you, do you just let it slide without confronting them about it? And if Goldberg can't deal with it when someone confronts him about what he said, then he has no business running his mouth off.

BTW, Marek posted his Law report for the day and there is not even one word about this "incident". The torch updates today also had nothing.

Wait, has no-one besides 1cockjock reported this yet? Fuck's sake people, this coming after Willie the Wanker so soon, get a grip. Isn't it slightly obvious to anyone that this all sounds a little implausible and comes from a shitty source?

From PWTorch.com

Bill Goldberg and Chris Jericho were involved a brief physical altercation in the locker room following Monday's Raw. The word going around Smackdown last night was that Goldberg told someone in the locker room that Jericho needs to learn how to sell better. The remark was then relayed to Jericho by someone else in the locker room who overheard Goldberg.

Jericho confronted Goldberg about the comment he made. After exchanging words, Goldberg lunged at Jericho, who put him in a front-facelock until the two were separated by other wrestlers and backstage personnel.

Although Goldberg has a reputation for being short-tempered, at least one source doesn't blame him for the incident with Jericho. "I don't think Goldberg was in the wrong on this," the source told PWTorch.com. "I just think (another wrestler) got Jericho all worked up (by repeating what Goldberg said to Jericho)."

The source also insisted that the incident had nothing to do with the past tension between the two wrestlers that stemmed from Goldberg not wanting to work with Jericho because of their difference in size. That incident may have played a part in Jericho being as upset as he was, but the subject did not come up during their most recent encounter.
