Guest notJames Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Anyone know what happened with Ron Artest? I saw a clip of him shoving one of the Indiana suits on his way to the locker room.
Guest Ripper Report post Posted May 2, 2003 Manu Ginobli, Stephen Jackson, experienced and better Toni Parker... 3 reasons that the Lakers haven't been able to stop the Spurs all season and after the cluth performances these guys gave against the Suns(my favorite team...great season guys) they have confidence out the wazoo. Lets all remember, the Lakers didn't exactly beat the shit out of the Spurs last year. In all 5 games, the spurs were up coming into the 4th quarter. Lack of 4th quarter execution and no one to take the slack off of Duncan is what killed them last year(and Kobe) things have changed. If you watched them play during the season, you know how Ginoblis gambling, pesky defense forces alot of turnovers out of Kobe in the 4th. Its show and prove time for the Lakers...I just don't think they can do it.
Guest Tony149 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 If the Spurs can keep Kobe & Shaq under 25 points a piece than they will win the game. I don't think that matters. Shaq & Kobe will get their points, the Spurs will just have to stop the rest of the Lakers, which outside of Fisher, I believe is very possible. I'm more concerned with the Spurs' free-throw shooting than anything else. You have to make those; they killed the Spurs in game 1 against the Suns.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted May 2, 2003 It basically comes down to can the Spurs role players match Kobe? The Lakers' role players, outside of Fisher and Shaw late in the game aren't much of a a factor. Horry normally is, but he has absolutly sucked ass so far. So it's Ginnobili, Parker, Jackson, Rose vs. Kobe more or less. To be honest, I'd take Kobe.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 2, 2003 A little late. But do the Wolves know the meaning of the word defense. They cut the lead to 6, and Lakers sit Shaq. Anyone with a brain would know, double team, triple team Kobe. But the Wolves let Kobe score 12 points in like 4 minutes. The Lakers have two good players, when one of them is out don't let the other guy get open. It doesnt' seem that hard to figure out.

Guest Deebo Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I think the Lakers will win. Shaq doesn't get much more joy in the NBA than he does from dominating Duncan and Robinson, and SA has no answer for Kobe.

You're right Vern, but when Fisher and George are producing there ain't shit you can do. And to Smell, mark my words, Horry will step up when needed. If you don't believe me, go back and watch some old Houston Rockets games.

If you don't believe me, go back and watch some old Houston Rockets games. That's true. But you still wanna double team Kobe. The role players on the Lakers always seem to step up in the playoffs. I just hope its not enough to beat the Spurs.
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted May 3, 2003 I think the Lakers will beat the Spurs in 6, the Spurs are choke artists in my book until they're proven not to be choke artists. Hopefully though, the Spurs break the streak of being choke artists cause I fuckin hate the Lakers.

Speaking of choke artists...how 'bout dem Mavericks? From up 3-0 against the Jailblazers to having to win Game 7.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Anyone know what happened with Ron Artest? I saw a clip of him shoving one of the Indiana suits on his way to the locker room. They said it had something to do with Celtic fans getting on him, and it finally set him off. Why that means you need to try and fight someone from your own organization I have no idea. He is worse than Rodman was at his peak of bad behavior. Did anybody else see Orlando start fouling Ben Wallace with 3 min. left? That was ridiculous, Orlando knew that they would not be able to win a Game 7 in Detroit and got desperate. The saddest part is that it was working, but Orlando couldn't buy a shot. Dallas is in trouble know too. Portland has proven this year that when they have their heads in the game they can be the one of the, if not the hottest teams in the league. They have blown out the Mavs twice in the last 3 games, and I would not be surprised to see them take the series.
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted May 3, 2003 Wow! The Mavs are choking hard. The Trail Blazers are playing scary basketball right now. They have all the momentum going into Game Seven. The talent of the Blazers are gelling at right moment. It will be interesting to see if the Mavs are able to stop the bleeding. Did anyone catch AI draining that game winner against New Orleans. Dagger in the heart. AI is da ma. Philly looks good right now. AI is capable of beating teams by himself. But I also like New Jersey as well... I wouldn't mind seeing those two teams in the Confrence Finals. In the west, except for Game 3 of their series with Utah, Sacramento looks very good. They have been the most impressive so far in the playoffs. The Lakers have some serious issues. They might not miss Fox'sa offense, neither will any one else, but they will miss his experience and defense. Their bench is not much to begin with. And Derrick Fisher is either going to face Tony Parker or Stephon Marbury in the next round, so that is not going to be an easy task for sure. If the Lakers do win it, it's not going to be cake walk for them. I expect dog fights all the way to the end. But, when you have two of the best players in the game, anything is possible. But sports has taught me that all great winning has to come to an end eventually. The Lakers just look vulnerable this year. If they play a San Antonio or Sacramento, and play like they did against Minnesota, they will lose.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 3, 2003 as princess leia once said... help us obiwan ginobli, you are our only hope. - Goodhelmet The Force is strong in him, YES but there has been false profits before in the land of the Midwest Conference Champs as Derek Anderson & Antonio Daniels were canidates but all failed in the pressure games vs The Empire of the Pacific and were injuried or walked all over. Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted May 4, 2003 If they play a San Antonio or Sacramento, and play like they did against Minnesota, they will lose. The Lakers won 3 of the 4 games by more than 15 games. One of the Wolves win had alot to do with Shaq not being in the game because his Grandfather died. Honestly, I don't think the Lakers have been tested yet.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Speaking of choking... how about the Orlando Magic? I fucking HATE the Magic and this is just great... they blow a 3-1 lead in this series and now they're getting their sorry asses handed to them in Game 7. They greatly deserve this. Sorry T-Mac, you're a good player and all, but you aren't getting out of the first round unless your team pulls a miracle outta their asses.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted May 4, 2003 If the Magic couldn't make good on a 3-1 lead, fuck 'em. The same thing goes for the Mavericks today. I think I would rather see a Sixers-Pistons matchup anyway.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted May 4, 2003 There go my Magic. *sniff, sniff* Why must my teams always choke?! WHY?!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Dumb TMAC had the stupidity to proclaim himself in the second round after they won game 3...Idiot deserves to lose.

Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Dumb TMAC had the stupidity to proclaim himself in the second round after they won game 3...Idiot deserves to lose. LMFAO Yeah, I know... Isn't this the SAME Tracy McGrady who called the Hawks a soft team and then went on to LOSE to them in the playoffs years ago? I'd say this is more karma for Mr McGrady. Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Kobe being better than T-Mac may be debatable...but Kobe being smarter than T-Mac is unquestioned.
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Pistons! Stomp that ass!!! Man, it was like a wrestling event at the Palace. It was all types of full arena chants...man I wish I could have gotten tickets!!! Well, we got the Sixers next round. I'm pumped for it. Sixers is a more experienced team than Orlando. So it should be a great matchup. And what about Tyshaun Prince??!?! That kid stepped up big time!
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Report post Posted May 4, 2003 What about Gooden for Orlando. That rookie really stepped up. If McGrady would have been on the game could have gone a different way. The Pistons/Sixers matchup may be who wins from the east. Either can beat the Nets.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Isn't gooden a Second year player?
Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Yeah Gooden got like 17 boards in the game. And was accurate as fuck in the first half. He was doing his job this series. Its odd though... when T-mac does his thing.....no one steps up. When the team does their thing...T-mac doesn't.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 4, 2003 Look at this way...Next year Gooden could become Pippen to Tmac's Jordan...
