Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted April 22, 2003 They didn't try to do it but it actually makes more sense the way it turned out. Anyone who has ever lived in a city knows it is a lot easier to catch a obivious car like a hummer limo on foot due to the traffic then in a car race. To me this is a simple thought that someone who has never lived in a city should be able to grasp. I think people just want to hate Goldberg so they criticize anything he does. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Criticize? Er...what's to criticize? The fact is, that a misfortune happened to Goldberg, and we find it very funny. Nothing to "criticize" there except that I thought that they pre-taped most of these backstage segments, and they could have avoided this if they did. Guest Army Eye Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I don't see why they don't tape more of them. Is there any strong reason to do them live? We had this tonight, Hogan's motorcycle incideint, and remember Raven with Moppy? All embarrassing stuff that could've been avoided.
Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I'm glad RAW aired late here and I accidentally stumbled onto that. The sight of Goldberg deciding that, since his car had stalled, he'd best get out and continue the pursuit on foot, was priceless. I give it 0.9 on the Hogan scale. wouldn't that make the triple h/kane trunk incident like a 1.7 on the hogan scale then?

We had this tonight, Hogan's motorcycle incideint, and remember Raven with Moppy? All embarrassing stuff that could've been avoided. The bike stalled on the RAMP--nothing could really be done about that. Ironically, they had taped the backstage portion where Hogan was riding around in the back looking for Taker. What Raven with Moppy incident, BTW?

Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I didn't mean you were criticizing Goldberg. Some people were criticizing him for getting out and running out after the limo when that is actually smart.
Guest TheBlurricane Report post Posted April 22, 2003 wasn't the car thing planned out? The funniest part about it was the noises his car was making.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I didn't mean you were criticizing Goldberg. Some people were criticizing him for getting out and running out after the limo when that is actually smart. Right--at first I thought it may have been meant to be Rock sabotage. Sure, it's very out of character for Rock to have done such a thing, but at least he tried to cover for it. Basically, that's all he could do in that situation. If he'd had sat there trying to start the car for a solid minute--that would be criticism worthy. Raven tried to feed Moppy though a woodchipper, but the damn mop still had a lot of fight in her, so it took an embarassing amount of time. I never noticed that. I was cracking up too much at Raven's "Moppy" voice.

Guest notJames Report post Posted April 22, 2003 scha·den·freu·de (shädn-froid) n. Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others. [German : Schaden, damage (from Middle High German schade, from Old High German scado) + Freude, joy (from Middle High German vreude, from Old High German frewida, from fr, happy).] Just wanted to share what I've been feeling with the rest of you. I haven't laughed this hard since Bill Gates got a pie in the face. This dude just has no luck with cars, eh? F.G.B.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I actually think it was set up like that,.........they can say that Christian sabotaged the engine while Goldberg was dealing with Rock. Also, i think it was smart tot get out of the car and run out. What else was he gonna do, stay in the car like an asshole while the camrea focuses on him for like a minute while he's not doing anything. He would have looked even dumber. He proved he's not as dumb as Hogan who tried about 24 times to get the bike started
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Honestly, he really did do the only thing he could. But it was still funny.
Guest notJames Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I chalk it up to the karma wheel realigning the universe. Now if only it would spin on HHH's number again like it did on that wonderful Monday night in May of 2001.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I thought that was way better...dumbass jumps out of the car and persues on foot. The only thing better is if they would have checked in later with the hummer going down the expressway with Goldberg only a few feet behind running. Yeah, I can see Goldberg pulling off the T-1000 gimmick. Oh oh, Terminator reference!
Guest Mik at Cornell Report post Posted April 22, 2003 It makes no sense AT ALL for it to be a work. If they sabotaged the car, they didn't realize he would run after on foot. So, he probably could have just gave up and ended up staying, which would have ruined Rock's whole plan. He drove the car really poorly. I even looked at my friend and mentioned that he was driving like a total asshole, how funny would it be if the car doesn't start, and it didn't. I really really think there's a less than 1% chance it was a work.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I chalk it up to the karma wheel realigning the universe. Now if only it would spin on HHH's number again like it did on that wonderful Monday night in May of 2001. I believe that karma is going to be a real bitch. When HHH's number comes up...oooh...he's going to wish he was never born. And yes, Goldberg is at least smarter than Hogan. Although having Christian say he sabotaged the car would be a good cover up.
Guest Ascalon Report post Posted April 22, 2003 The funniest part about it was the noises his car was making. Yup...CRUNCH CRUNCH...FLOOD. PUTPUTPUTPOOT!!! You can tell from the moment he peeled that he fucked up shiftin or sumpthin...like the time i blew my boys clutch practicing on an old Civic. As for karma in the world, I too am wishing for Crip's number to come up. It...will be nice.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Maaaaan, I wasn't a Goldberg hater until I saw him fuck up that PRISTINE HemiCuda last night (I was SCREAMING at Coach to get it right). I mean, if he had tore out of the arena, that would have made my night, especially after I saw the '71 GSX yesterday. My friend and I were on the FLOOR laughing at Goldberg just deciding to trot after Rock instead of getting his car to work. Guest EdwardKnoxII Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Maaaaan, I wasn't a Goldberg hater until I saw him fuck up that PRISTINE HemiCuda last night Check the tape again it was a 440 Cuba it said so on the side of the car. But, yeah I to was sad about what happened to the Cuda. BTW, when Goldberg couldn't get his car started did anyone else think that Goldberg was going to run out in the middle of the street, stop a car, throw the driver out and chase after Rock. I thought that would have been to funny.

Yuna_Firerose 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Moments like this and Shawn Michael's pants falling down are the reason why I still watch Raw. And people wonder why smarks make Clique gay jokes... HHH goes into Shawn's dressing room, and the door is closed as Raw fades to commercial. Then, during the match, part of Shawn's pants become unsnapped for no explained reason. Nope...nothing slashy about that at all. Whatever are you thinking, AndrewTS? CelticJobber, is that TATU in your avatar?
