Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted April 24, 2003 So the other day I'm listening to Hayden's "Live at Convocation Hall" disc and a song on it called "I don't think we should ever meet" goes about a minute long but still managed to rule. What about you? What's YOUR favorite short-song? *Please refrain from jokes about The Dames or using "I Wish" by Skee-Lo in this thread.*
Guest The Metal Maniac Report post Posted April 24, 2003 Any of SOD's various ballads, and Suicidal Tendencies "I Won't Fall in Love Today".
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 24, 2003 There's a lot to choose from. Maybe "Corrosion" by Nasum.

Guest notJames Report post Posted April 24, 2003 Pretty much any short song by the Descendents, like "Kids", "Pervert", and "I'm Not a Loser". But my fave at the moment would probably be Me First and the Gimme Gimme's cover of "My Favourite Things". I like how they stole the opening riff to Bad Religion's "Generator". BTW, Fat Wreck Chords put out an awesome compliation CD of 30 second songs by every punk band under the sun called Short Music For Short People. Great stuff. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted April 24, 2003 AFI's "Strength Through Wandering" Its "Strength Through Wounding"; and I don't know if it really counts, since its not much of a song, rather just an album intro. Anyway, other favorites of mine: "Pissing In The Mainstream" by Dying Fetus (thank you AoO) "Death Comes Ripping" by The Misfits "Last Caress" by the Misfits "Biotech is Godzilla" by Sepultura
Guest raptor Report post Posted April 24, 2003 Fish Fuck- GWAR Funny and has a good beat. A good deal of the songs of of Short Music are all good, like Howdy Doody in The Woodshed.

Guest godthedog Report post Posted April 24, 2003 'tourette's', nirvana 'eleanor rigby' would have EASILY gotten it, but it runs at exactly 2:00.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted April 24, 2003 Prince, "Sister." 1:37 of pure incestual fun with a great little riff. And I'll admit to having also checked the time on "Eleanor Rigby" before coming to this decision.

Your Paragon of Virtue 0 Report post Posted April 26, 2003 I'd echo both of GTD's picks, and something I'm currently digging is Dust Brothers, opening theme to Fight Club. I don't care for looking up the title, but I'm sure you all know of what I'm talking about.

Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted April 26, 2003 NOFX has about 50 contenders. 'Straight American Slave' by RFTC is godlike. 'Something for the girl with everything' by SPARKS runs about 2:10, but it's the shortest song I can think of that is this near to utter perfection.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Report post Posted April 26, 2003 Another contender that goes, I think, 1 second over: the Smiths' "Girlfriend in a Coma." Pretty great.
