Goldberg 1-0 --- The streak begins...

Over at wwe.com, the splash has a picture of Goldberg with the caption "1-0 - The Streak Begins". Now, I don't know if this is a joke, a way to build interest in him, of if it's a sign for things to come. I just thought I'd share this, that's all.

The spash, if you don't want to go to the main site.

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

Goldberg's streak of getting booed despite the fact that he was supposed to be the big face-

1-0

Streak of bad matches vs. good matches.

1-0

I didn't say Goldberg sucked because of it- I just thought it was funny that Goldberg got booed in his first ever WWE match when he was supposed to be the big debuting #1 face.

How did the crowd booing Rock mean he sucks? They booed him because his character was stale and they wanted to see Lesnar win. With Goldberg... it's probably for the same reasons.

Shouldn't Goldberg be a breath of fresh air? This is first time wrestling in two years and his first in WWE.

Yeah but for the most part he is the same One Dimensional Player...

Fans who didn't watch WCW can only look at Goldberg and go "What's so great bout this guy?"

I didn't see the PPV, but from that splash I gather that he has a new tattoo on the underside of his right arm... ??? What is it of?

And that's where we run into the problem of pushing the wrong talent again.

He never should have been brought back.

I think it's some kind of skull design. I wasn't really paying attention to him.

Besides, Rock's ever-growing tattoo is all-encompassing when it's on TV. I think it's a schematic of his house.

"This is the People's pantry. And This is the People's guest bathrooom. And "This is where the Rock keeps the People's lawnmower."

What was up with that? First, the crowd pops for his entrance, then like out of nowhere, GOLDBERG SUCKS! He even smiled at the chant!

Interesting. I actually don't mind the Rock's new ink. It looks like he's expanding it to his back now. It should be interesting considering if he wants to be a big movie star, it's gonna take it's toll on what types of roles he gets. Guess there's always makeup and FX that can cover it up though...

Maybe the crowd thought the same way I did? The match was sucking and they blamed Goldberg for it!

If recent roles are any indication, I think Rock's future as an action/adventure hero ala Ah-nold and Stallone won't be hampered by his newfound taste for ink.

It's when he delves into more serious roles that he might run into problems. Personally, I don't see his career threatening the likes of Brad Pitt or Denzel Washington.

btw, Raw is in Boston tonight and they tend to boo the people they don't like. Hopefully Goldberg is on their shit list.

Steiner still hasn't recoved from his first time there.

Goldberg started his streak with Lowcarders and midcarders in WCW from Hugh Morris till defeating the likes of Hogan, Brian Adams, Scott Hall, and finally getting jobbed to Kevin Nash at Starcade.

In WWE.....

He starts with a Main eventer????

Unless he is gonna squash the handful of Main eventers next he is taking a trip to Squashing the Low mid carders..and Jobbers too.

Like HHH said, WWE doesn't have the 300 man deep talent pool the WCW had wasted.

So the Squash Streak isn't gonna be as long before someone with Political Klout will beat him.

probably be even longer if Goldberg hopfrogged from show to show.

Sorry, thought that was what you implied, what with all the Goldberg hate around here.

Funny how when Rock was face, he seemed to get booed (Summerslam, Wrestlemania X8) and the crowd hated him after SS. So they turn him heel, and he becomes liked. Rock's more popular as a heel than most of his face runs...lol.

Rock's look is great right now. Good for a heel.

And Trivia...who's Goldberg gonna face at Judgement Day. Cause you know damn well they're gonna get squashed. Everyone's saying Jericho, but then they said Jericho was gonna be the one to job at Backlash. Or Booker. Turns out to be the Golden Boy Big Kev. So, there ya go...

i expect goldberg to start squashing mid carders as soon as RAW tonight or next week... then he will squash another ME guy (jericho) at JD.. till he gets to Badd Blood where the streak will be ended by the almighty and great HHH.. the biggest asshole in the business will get the victory that night so it HAS to be HHH.. and noone will care... and i will laugh

I think it's going to be Nash v HHH at Judgement Day with Goldberg/Jericho/Booker in a 3-way for the #1 Contendership.

Posted

And just think, the headline after Judgment Day will be, "Goldberg, the streak continues: 2-0"

Seriously though I bet Christian "seizes the day" and gets squashed by Goldberg tonight.

I don't think Goldberg really has the attention span to take on more than one person for longer than 5 minutes.

The problem is that Goldberg is pretty much the icon of the now-gone competition, so bringing him in and letting him destroy a popular star like Rock goes over about as well as Steve Jobs introducing a version of Windows for Mac hardware.

So you've got this whole "We've been hating and making fun of this guy for five years now, but we hope that you'll grow to like him and he'll give us ratings!" stuff that nobody is buying. Bill somehow made someone at the WWE swallow his Kool-Aid about how he can single handedly double ratings by sticking out his tongue and tackling some guys, so they sent him out to get booed by live crowds who started becoming fans in the day of the two companies because they didn't like him and what he was doing on the other channel.

What I fear is that Goldberg was too spoiled in the WCW and he'll think he only has to wrestle PPV events and just do these stupid segments and not wrestle.

blah

and if the WWE is that desperate to think Goldberg is that important that he doesn't Need some Freshing up in the ring or to build him to a PPV that he doesn't need to have matches on TV...then its really not worth buying the PPV's

Its obvious he doesn't wrestle for the business but for the paycheck, which everyone else does but at least everyone else gives a crap about the business.
