Guest Pigsy Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Who hit Austin? and the subsequent HHH feud signified the official start of the WWE's absolute stupidity. They had a full year to develop Austins return, and the best they came up with was Rikishi with HHH being the mastermind?? I remember reading that Big Show was supposed to be the driver, but he got fat(ter) (I know, I'm shocked too) and was sent to OVW. I don't know if there's any truth to that, but if there is it's ironic they chose Rikishi as his replacement. Anyway, the only wrestling I watch is on DVDs and tapes that I buy (and the occasional downloaded match). Atleast that way you can find reviews to determine whether or not a show's worth your money. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted May 7, 2003 To me watching PPVs is usually a social thing. My friends and I get together and we watch the show and just have fun either making fun of it when it sucks or going crazy when it's a good show. So I will not be boycotting JD
Guest tank_abbott Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Why would one's standards be low? Were they not conditioned that way? Yes, we were never raised with a product that was putting on AJPW-quality matches on a nightly basis but you can only fault that so much until the fan is at blame. I was raised on heavy doses of 1:20 squash matches and Hercules/Kamala/Bundy/Studd /Hillbilly Jim being Main eventers, so please speak for youself Ok? Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted May 7, 2003 I don't think you need to start an actual boycott for the show. HHH vs Nash Brock vs Show No Austin match No Rock match I think this show's setting itself up to suck nicely
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Isn't the PPV next Sunday? Great buildup for ALL the matches...I think I'll pass. Boycotting PPVs is a better was of showing our disdain than boycotting Raw.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Well, I'm getting Judgement Day. I also get all the NWA:TNA's each Wednesday, so that's not really an alternative for me. However, I watch all the PPV's at my friends house on his pirated Direct T.V...so, I have no reason to boycott anything. I can't complain about anything when it's all free. Besides, Judgement Day actually has at least three things that I want to see. Team Angle Vs. Los Guerreros: Ladder Match for the Smackdown Tag Titles Ultimo Dragon's debut. Intercontinental Battle Royal. So I'm not in on this "boycott."
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted May 7, 2003 The split killed WWE. It should have been ended a while ago. The longer they keep it going, the faster WWE will become shittier. Reasons split sucks: 1.) Half or maybe less of the whole roster isn't there. Why would you wanna see a house show with only half or less of the full roster when before you could see all? 2.) Realistically unless you stay up late or are home on Sunday, you could see your favorite(s) only twice or maybe only once a week. 3.) But it's true, more people did get a chance to shine....CRAP FROM OVW like Orton, Batista, Mack, etc. As long as the split continues I know business will be down. I'd watch JD if someone else bought it because it'd be free but I'd never pay to see just a part of one of the best rosters ever assembled.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted May 7, 2003 I don't even considering getting PPVs anyway unless they look good. If I miss them but they turn out good I pick up the DVDs. I don't think I'll be picking up the JD DVD either.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 7, 2003 not that it matters, but Booker T is on the poster for Judgment Day and yet his character has no dircetion currently and he isn't even on the PPV...yet.
Guest Human Fly Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Why is everyone creaming their pants about an Ultimo Dragon debut? Nothing has been announced, for all you know his debut could be an interview. If you pay $40 to see an interview then you deserve whatever crap the WWE is dishing out. That being said there is no way I'm coming anywhere near this dog. If I have a chance to see it for free I wouldn't watch it. Even if Ultimo Dragon does have a nice little 5 minute match with Jamie Noble (which you could download the next day) you still have 20 minute epic showdowns between Brock/Show and HHH/Nash. The WWE might not care about your $40 but there are plenty of other promotions out there who are doing all they can to give you your moneys worth.

However, these same geniuses opted to try to make people pay for the "privilege" of just seeing the nWo, Steiner, and Austin show up on PPV--I don't count Bisch vs. Austin as a match. LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Damnit.........i'm not ordering this shit this month. Hell no.............................................................................. .........................umm, i'm gonna go to my friends house to watch it instead. *Gets tomatoes thrown at him* but, even with that being said......It's still a non-buy for me right? I gotta see Dragon!
Guest Lord of The Curry Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Ultimo's "debut" will probably be a shot of him sitting backstage watching a cruiserweight matchup while eating some rice, noodles and chattering in Japanese to Funaki and Tajiri while bowing to the camera like a maniac. Get it right idiot" Cole: "Absolutely, hey, ultimate can I ask what you're purpose is here. Are you a part of WWE now?" Dragon: "i heeyah tul chalee any vitah een dayudayueeee!" Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted May 7, 2003 As funny as that was, the sad part is that I can actually see this happening. My guess is that Ultimo won't even be there. They'll just show a promo saying he's coming soon. And as for the people saying they used to count down to raw but don't anymore, I'm with you. I used to count down the time until Raw started. Now I count down the time until it ends.

bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2003 the whole boycott the june 6th RAW was a stupid idea, boycotting a ppv is much smarter. Without Nielson boxes, your boycott doesnt mean anything, but you can alter a buyrate. If you really wanted to make a statement,b oycott the first all-RAW ppv, or boycott Summerslam. Of course I know you guys won't, being the addicts you are. Bitch about how shitty the show is, but once Summerslam comes around, hey it's summerslam right? bleh
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted May 7, 2003 I'll fall out of my chair if the buyrate breaks 0.8 anyways. The show is shaping up to look like the most horrible pay per view ever. If an AWESOME show like WM XIX gets a dissapointing buyrate, I shudder to think how bad JD is going to be. A boycott wouldn't really make a difference. Oooooooooh.....you must be talking about that push that Raven got where he had 4 guys beat up Jeff Jarrett, beat him with weapons, gave him not 1 but 2 Raven Effects, and still lost the match with a weak ass Stroke. Great push.................Jeff Jarrett is just as bad as Triple H, but at least HHH wrestles every once in a while. bobobrazil1984 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2003 ^ because i'm a frikken psychic (or maybe cuz it was a figure of speech). Anyways, for the person who asked why one would want to boycott Summerslam since it is traditionally a good ppv, because it's the WWE's #2 money maker of the year. If you really hate the direction of the overall company, the only way you will ever ever ever get anyone to give a crap what you think is if you cost them money. Plain and simple, and it has to be clear why, so tehre's no room for rationalizations. This is why the internet will never have influence on the decision making process of the WWE, all they have to do is give Benoit a month push and we're back in the fold. If a group really did want to try and change things, you cant do it on a base-by-base basis (whoa too much "bass" in that sentance), you have to target the whole picture. But on the other hand, if Summerslam has Benoit v Brock for the title with buzz that benoit might win, well what self respecting smark would dare boycott that??? I mean benoit is gonna win the title!!! And Vince knows this. No matter how many RAWs you "boycott" or ppvs that you boycott (which you were never going to order in the first place), we'll always be there WHEN it counts. Of course I'm one to talk since i dont order ppvs and only see the good stuff at a later time, so its hardly a loss to me. Anyways, this isnt' NECESSARILY a criticsm of the internet fandom who are trying to organize this protest or that boycott or whatever, just a statement on it, and why I believe none of these will ever work. Guest Samurai_Goat Report post Posted May 7, 2003 Hey, has anyone sent an email saying that they were gonna boycott JD? If you get a big ol' list of names or something, and send an email saying "These people have agreed not to purchase Judgement Day in boycott of this shitty-assed show", it'll help the impact of said boycott. Without it, they may think it's just a random flux.

Yes, HHH in "action" over a couple of months = "wrestling once in a while." And hell, Raven wouldn't even get near the world title scene in the WWE. So I'm grateful for anything that seems like an improvement. Anyway, somehow I think he'll have his day. The way I see it, last week was just your typical "face overcomes the odds" finish, and you knew that was coming when Raven revealed he'd have Team Extreme backing him up. We've seen that plenty of times in ECW (how many times did we see Shane Douglas get beaten with everything but the kitchen sink, then win with a BELLY TO BELLY?!!) and in WWE (ladder matches with tons of big spots, but usually ending with something simpler) I'm not saying TNA is perfect. And I might be biased, which is easy since ANYTHING is better than WWE right now. (And I don't have regular access to ROH or whatever it is you crazy kids love, so go easy on me!)
