I have money for 3 new CDs. I'm ordering them online, so I can find pretty much anything I want. Recommend me something interesting.

I've got CKY's boxed set already. Is Jack Johnson the Mos Def side project?

Both, actually. A friend of mine bought it and gave me the DVDs and the CDs together, so I just assumed they were part of the same package.

Jack Johnson used to be a pro surfer and is now a pretty popular folk/rock artist.

POWERMAN 5000! TRANSFORM!

'Kay, I'm done shilling. But it's a killer CD, and they deserve the attention.

If you like the Roots then you must get Common Electric Circus. The Roots are on the album as the back up band, well ?uestlove plays the drums on most of the tracks. Several stars are on the album Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Mary J Blige, Cee-Lo, Pharrell Williams. Nu-Soul if you will is what this album is all about, with Common rapping about love, peace, the good ol days, black power, blah blah blah you know the good fun stuff. No ghetto bling bling here.

Seeing as I've got Phrenology and Electric Circus already, I ended up getting:

Nas - Illmatic

Aceyalone - A Book of Human Language

Refused - The Shape of Punk To Come

Elvis Costello - This Year's Model

Yeah, I bought one more than I planned on. Damn music.

Hey, excellent choices all around. You'll love Refused, especially when they have the "Refused techno dance time."

The shape of punk to come will be techno dance time-shaped?

I don't want to live in this world.

Agalloch - The Mantle

Opeth - Deliverance/Damnation

Darkthrone - Hate Them

FUCK YEAH!!! SOMEONE ELSE HAS LOVE FOR AGALLOCH~~~!!

I actually got 3 CD's today. Black Sabbath We Sold Our Souls For Rock N Roll Volumes 1 and 2, and SERART by Serj Tanjkian(lead for System of a Down) doing a weirdass artsy CD. It kicks ass, especially listening to it high.

Al Di Meola - Anthology (2 disc set, so counted as 2 cds)

One of the greatest guitarist ever. The music is instrumental jazz fusion (I think...I'm not big on the catagorization of Jazz). Awesome album. Awesome music.

Unsane - Scattered, Smothered and Covered

Excellent stonercore album.

Keep Social distortion's Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell in mind for your next purchases.

While I second the Social D recommendation, I prefer the older ones more (particularly Mommy's Little Monster and Prison Bound) although there's nothing really wrong with SBHAH.

I haven't heard too much, but from what I have heard, I can't stand Common's music. He seems like a cool guy to shoot the breeze with, though.

Did no one else think this was funny?

I read awhile ago that Mos Def was in the middle of a project with a rock band that had tenatively been named Jack Johnson. Haven't heard anything else about it, though. Anybody got anything on this?
