Guest Kibagami Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I have money for 3 new CDs. I'm ordering them online, so I can find pretty much anything I want. Recommend me something interesting. K.
Zetterberg is God Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Either CKY CD (Volume 1 or Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild).
Guest Kibagami Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I've got CKY's boxed set already. Is Jack Johnson the Mos Def side project? K.
Zetterberg is God Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I've got CKY's boxed set already. Are you talking about the DVD's or the CD's? I'm pretty certain that they don't have a CD box set.
Guest Kibagami Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Both, actually. A friend of mine bought it and gave me the DVDs and the CDs together, so I just assumed they were part of the same package. K.
Guest Doyo Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Jack Johnson used to be a pro surfer and is now a pretty popular folk/rock artist. Here are 3 new album recommedations:
Guest The Metal Maniac Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I second Anthrax's We've Come For You All. "Safe Home" OWNS YOUR BALLS.
Guest Reservoir_Kitty Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Poodle Hat is great. We picked it up today, along with....... POWERMAN 5000! TRANSFORM! 'Kay, I'm done shilling. But it's a killer CD, and they deserve the attention.
Guest Nanks Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Saliva - Every Six Seconds Grinspoon - Panic Attack Foo Fighters - One by One
Guest Heavy As Hell Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Agalloch - The Mantle Opeth - Deliverance/Damnation Darkthrone - Hate Them
Guest razazteca Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Goto FYE get Anthrax Attack of the Killer A's for $5.
Guest Narcoleptic Jumper Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Third Eye Blind: Out Of The Vein and/or Third Eye Blind
B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Well, I'm not sure if you have it alredy, but I just FINALLY picked up Phrenology by The Roots. It's fucking wonderful.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Pearl Jam: State College, PA (5/3/03) 36 songs, likely 3'CD's - all for just 14.95 (or thereabouts) + shipping
Guest Choken One Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 CREED-My Own Prison CREED-Human Clay CREED-Weathered OH YEAH!
Guest razazteca Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 If you like the Roots then you must get Common Electric Circus. The Roots are on the album as the back up band, well ?uestlove plays the drums on most of the tracks. Several stars are on the album Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Mary J Blige, Cee-Lo, Pharrell Williams. Nu-Soul if you will is what this album is all about, with Common rapping about love, peace, the good ol days, black power, blah blah blah you know the good fun stuff. No ghetto bling bling here.
Guest Kibagami Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Seeing as I've got Phrenology and Electric Circus already, I ended up getting: Nas - Illmatic Aceyalone - A Book of Human Language Refused - The Shape of Punk To Come Elvis Costello - This Year's Model Yeah, I bought one more than I planned on. Damn music. K.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Hey, excellent choices all around. You'll love Refused, especially when they have the "Refused techno dance time."
Guest Kibagami Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 The shape of punk to come will be techno dance time-shaped? I don't want to live in this world. K.
Guest Vitamin X Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Agalloch - The Mantle Opeth - Deliverance/Damnation Darkthrone - Hate Them FUCK YEAH!!! SOMEONE ELSE HAS LOVE FOR AGALLOCH~~~!! I actually got 3 CD's today. Black Sabbath We Sold Our Souls For Rock N Roll Volumes 1 and 2, and SERART by Serj Tanjkian(lead for System of a Down) doing a weirdass artsy CD. It kicks ass, especially listening to it high.
Guest Renegade Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 You've already bought them, but I'll shill it anyway: The Mad Capsule Markets - OSC-DIC
B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Keep Social distortion's Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell in mind for your next purchases.
Guest gangsteruwa Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Al Di Meola - Anthology (2 disc set, so counted as 2 cds) One of the greatest guitarist ever. The music is instrumental jazz fusion (I think...I'm not big on the catagorization of Jazz). Awesome album. Awesome music. Unsane - Scattered, Smothered and Covered Excellent stonercore album.
Guest Heavy As Hell Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Vitamin X Posted on May 20 2003, 11:44 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QUOTE (Heavy As Hell @ May 20 2003, 06:49 PM) Agalloch - The Mantle Opeth - Deliverance/Damnation Darkthrone - Hate Them FUCK YEAH!!! SOMEONE ELSE HAS LOVE FOR AGALLOCH~~~!! They should be required listening for everyone. Fucking amazing band.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Keep Social distortion's Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell in mind for your next purchases. While I second the Social D recommendation, I prefer the older ones more (particularly Mommy's Little Monster and Prison Bound) although there's nothing really wrong with SBHAH.
Guest subliminal_animal Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 If you like the Roots then you must get Common Electric Circus. I haven't heard too much, but from what I have heard, I can't stand Common's music. He seems like a cool guy to shoot the breeze with, though. I've got CKY's boxed set already. Is Jack Johnson the Mos Def side project? Did no one else think this was funny?
B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 I found it to be particularly comical.
Guest Kibagami Posted May 23, 2003 Report Posted May 23, 2003 I read awhile ago that Mos Def was in the middle of a project with a rock band that had tenatively been named Jack Johnson. Haven't heard anything else about it, though. Anybody got anything on this? K.
