JHawk 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 1.) Did the Legion of Doom ever face Demolitions when they were faces too (when they still used Rick's theme) ? Probably not, since LOD's debut was at a June taping and they were basically kepy apart until SummerSlam. 2.) What happened to Rick Rude following SummerSlam 1990? They were building toward the Rude-Bossman feud, but Rude's contract ran out and he didn't re-sign, so Jack Tunney "suspended" him. 3.) How long were Savage and Miss Elizabeth really married before they got "married" at SummerSlam 1991? Can't remember the source I got it from, but I want to say they were married in December 1984. 4.) How did the Natural Disasters form and break-up? As far as I remember, Jimmy Hart simply announced Tugboat was now Typhoon on Prime Time Wrestling. Not much fanfare at all. There was no official breakup, although it was teased at the 1993 Royal Rumble. 5.) How did Chris Jericho turn heel the first time? WCW circa 1998, right? I can't remember where it became official (I want to say injuring Rey Misterio Jr.'s knee at Souled Out was the clincher), but he'd been throwing temper tantrums after a series of losses. He'd usually destroy Dave Penzer's suit, buy him a new one as an apology, then destroy that suit after the loss. Then came Souled Out.

tbondrage99 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 Thats freckin nuts, you'll never see a title run like that again. Why did Eddie Gurrero form The LWO & speaking of The LWO whatever happened to it?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 Why did Eddie Gurrero form The LWO & speaking of The LWO whatever happened to it? IIRC, it had something to do with Eddie claiming Bischoff was blackballing him. It was probably killed because it actually got over with the fans and wasn't supposed to. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 4.) How did the Natural Disasters form and break-up? WWF @ Tucson, AZ - Convention Center - May 28, 1991 WWF Superstars - 6/15/91: Earthquake & WWF Tag Team Champions the Nasty Boys defeated Tugboat & the Bushwhackers when Tugboat turned on his teammates, allowing Jerry Sags to pin Butch They never really broke up. I think Earthquake left in January 93 then Typhoon stuck around for a few months before doing the same. When Earthquake left again in the spring of 94 ("at the hands of Yoko and Crush"), Typhoon came back to attempt to gain revenge on Yoko. ...So basically he was monster heel fodder. tbondrage99 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 I know originally the WWE had a cage like they do now for cage matches, my question is when did they switch from the mesh cage orginally to the blue steel cage and what match was it when they switched back to the mesh one? landy1987 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2004 (edited) I know originally the WWE had a cage like they do now for cage matches, my question is when did they switch from the mesh cage orginally to the blue steel cage and what match was it when they switched back to the mesh one? I believe the first time the blue bars cage was used at WrestleMania 2, and was the cage used mostly from then on (except one time in the Boston Garden in 3/88 for a six man tag cage match) They first used the mesh cage (on TV anyway) on Raw in Feb/March 99 (can't remember participants, maybe X Pac and Shane?) They used the blue/black bars cage after this for the McMahon/Austin cage match at Massacre and I'm sure I remember another one with Mideon and the Boss Man before Mania 15. Also they used the blue bars cage for the infamous Kennel From Hell match. I don't recall ever seeing the blue/black bars cage anytime after Unforgiven 99, except it could have been used at house shows EDIT: Actually, having just wrote this post up I found this, which is quite interesting: The Raw brand house show in Philadelphia, PA on May 22nd was considered a let down. The show sold less then 4,500 tickets in a very competitive market for the company. The show ended up with a decent draw at $150,000 but several people still couldn’t get over how empty the Wachovia Center was. Although those backstage in WWE are claiming that the show was hurt by the Flyers in game seven of the NHL’s Eastern Conference finals. The next night’s house show in Moline, IL was considered to be much more of a let down. Not only were fan reports very negative about the turnout, the show only did around 2,000 paid with a draw of $70,000. There was also some negative talk about the cage that they used in Philadelphia for the Chris Jericho vs. Tyson Tomko match. Apparently the company used an old blue squared one from the Hulk Hogan era. However, they used a “newer” one the next night in Moline. JHawk 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 IIRC, the kayfabe reason they created the blue bar cage was because they were afraid that with 460 pounds of King Kong Bundy hitting the cage that it might collapse and give Bundy the cheap victory. Obvious bullshit, as Andre the Giant had done cage matches with Kamala and Big John Studd before that. In reality, it was used under the belief that the wider bars would make the match come off better on TV.

JHawk 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2004 Which brings up an interesting question, actually. Most of the time in the WWF, the steel cage match was won by climbing the cage. The notable exception was Bob Backlund, who almost always escaped through the door. Can anybody think of any non-Backlund W/WWF/E cage matches that ended with the door escape?
