Guest NoSelfWorth Report post Posted June 10, 2003 This week's edition of Raw did a 3.5 cable rating, with a 5.5 share, according to Nielsen Media Research. That is down from last week's 3.9 and not a very good sign leading into a PPV. The show did hours of 3.3 and 3.7. For those curious, Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals did a 4.6 broadcast rating. Given that the NFL does a much greater number than that in the fall, I don't see the hockey game as a factor here. Also, we are working on a story concerning Goldberg and a proposed storyline from Raw that we have heard got nixed last night. The general story making the rounds is that the creative team wanted to get a lot of heat on Goldberg from Chris Jericho but Goldberg reportedly didn't want to do it since Jericho has gotten all the heat on him thus far and got it changed. When we have the whole story, we will post it here on the Newsline. We are still gathering all of the details and if you are "borrowing" this story for another site, at least report it for what it is at this time, rumored and not complete. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Nothing major to be concerned about as far the ratings. Don't care about the Goldberg crap until we actually have information and not vague overviews of it.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted June 10, 2003 As I said last week about the rating... ...up and down the rating goes, where it stops nobody knows!
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Considering Goldberg ended up curtain-jerking vs. one of the Fat Samoans, sold for him, and did a shitty drop kick that made me laugh, I have no complaints about what did end up happening.
Ultra Violence 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2003 its quite interesting the Goldberg was curtain jerking. I wonder how high his level of creative control is

That's absolutely hilarious, considering the "source".
Guest Memphis Report post Posted June 10, 2003 Considering Goldberg ended up curtain-jerking vs. one of the Fat Samoans, sold for him, and did a shitty drop kick that made me laugh, I have no complaints about what did end up happening. That was, by far, the worst dropkick I have ever seen attempted by a wrestler. I mean, when you cannot do the most elementary of wrestling moves, maybe it's time you woke up to yourself, eh Goldberg? I wonder if the final segment rated the highest. I was in full-blown mark out mode watching Triple H eat Foley alive, because they just work so well together. Even Kevin Nash looked energetic for roughly 30 seconds. .....God damn Bad Blood is gonna suck. M
Guest Moses The Monkey Report post Posted June 10, 2003 That was, by far, the worst dropkick I have ever seen attempted by a wrestler. While it was certainly bad... No way. Erik Watts anyone?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 10, 2003 That was, by far, the worst dropkick I have ever seen attempted by a wrestler. While it was certainly bad... No way. Erik Watts anyone? Since I've never seen it, I can legitimately agree with the Fuck Goldberg Theory of worst dropkick ever. Lawler does a better one! ::Fuck Goldberg fan runs in:: How can you criticize him for adding to his moveset? Some people will never be satisfied!
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted June 11, 2003 http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/new...hp?news_id=6795 To add more to what was reported earlier, it does appear as if Goldberg forced management to rewrite parts of RAW last night. He thought that certain parts made him look "too weak" and that he had already been putting Chris Jericho over too much during the build for their Bad Blood match. He also had the booking for his match with Rosey changed so that he would win in a more dominating fashion. Most in WWE feel that Goldberg did the right thing in this situation and agreed that his character had been portrayed as too weak in recent weeks, which has hurt his image. Fuck Goldberg. Guest RedJed Report post Posted June 11, 2003 (edited) His character should be vulnerable leading into the ppv, assuming he would go over Jericho which I can assume would have been the case. So I dont see any need why he should have vetoed any idea last night. A part of the problem with him right now is when he gets beat down he shows no fire in the aftermath to save face like he used to back in the WCW days. Also his intensity and firepower in the ring and in angles is less than great nowadays either, so Goldberg needs to take some of the blame here himself. The fucking guy also clearly doesnt take this feud with Jericho seriously even on camera, and be that intentional or not (which I think it is) its fucking unprofessional. I look at it this way........since he's been such a headcase regarding Jericho even to this day (the WCW shit, the backstage fight a week into his WWE run, and vetoing shit from last night now) I think Jericho should be forced to go over Goldberg at the ppv just to make a point to Goldberg that he needs to stop the shit and start cooperating. It would be complete and utter poetic justice to boot if Jericho got the rub anyway. Edited June 11, 2003 by RedJed
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 11, 2003 and that he had already been putting Chris Jericho over too much during the build for their Bad Blood match. Like the time Jericho was revealed as the mastermind and you laughed? Or when he mased you and you didn't sell? Or when he ran away from you for an entire show? Or when he hit you with a chair and you didn't sell?
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2003 I would not mind Jericho winning at all. The Jericho vs. Goldberg feud could have a nice blowoff at Summerslam and they wouldn't have to worry about the end of the streak killing Goldberg like it did in WCW. And if Bill doesn't like it, Jericho can front face-lock his ass into oblivion.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Fuck Goldberg already has WAY too much power for someone who failed MISERABLY in his first goal of getting people interested in Backlash.
Guest RedJed Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Fuck Goldberg already has WAY too much power for someone who failed MISERABLY in his first goal of getting people interested in Backlash. Amen to that, hence he needs to be put in his place.......i.e. a solid job to Jericho at the ppv with NO rematch. I dont care if it damages him at this point, they should take him steps down and then just start over with him to build him up, throw an angle that with the time out of the ring after WCW, he lost his edge and after the ppv loss he now needs to "find it" or fuckin whatever. Or even just go left field and turn him heel.

Like the time Jericho was revealed as the mastermind and you laughed? Or when he mased you and you didn't sell? Or when he ran away from you for an entire show? Or when he hit you with a chair and you didn't sell? Exactly...how exactly has be put Jericho over? Everytime Jericho is on TV he is looking over his back, or running away. That chair shot last night was brutal...way to get up 3 seconds later Goldberg. And how exactly does Goldberg look weak? He squashed a fat samoan, blew off chair shots and mase, and absolutely killed Lil Naich. They've turned the spear into something to fear...Goldberg doesn't look weak. Fuck Goldberg. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Just tell Fuck Goldberg that he'd better work LONG AND HARD at finding a way to get himself over while still taking regular jobs like everyone else.

Guest Razor Roman Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Goldberg needs to learn some old school wrestling values. You need to make your opponent look AS GOOD AS POSSIBLE going into a big matchup. If you don't, A) Who cares if you beat him? You just beat a nobody! or B) If you lose to him, you just LOST to a nobody! If you make your opponent look good, you come out looking good, regardless of the match outcome. Look at Foley and Flair, two guys who lose all the time, but still keep their credibility. I mean, hey, yeah Flair won the belt all those times, which means he also lost the belt just as many times. But no one ever thinks about that, they just remember all his world titles. Goldberg, if you don't care about being a wrestler, then don't freakin' bother.
Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted June 11, 2003 This is the WWE, so Goldberg cannot get the streak going again. WWE fans don't buy it, and he needs to at least tweak his character because the WWE is a different place than the WCW.
Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted June 11, 2003 its quite interesting the Goldberg was curtain jerking. I wonder how high his level of creative control is Obviously, since he was curtain-jerking, he is a low-carder and is being buried. Opening matches and losers? Like hands and gloves and hands in gloves.
Guest lordazzington Report post Posted June 11, 2003 I can see that we have quite a few angry pissy fatazz smarks JEALOUS of Goldberg around here. NONE OF YOU (including me) will ever be as successful as HIM. You all like to talk shit about him behind a computer where nothing will happen, but yet NOT ONCE has some smark ever gotten into his face and ever dissed him like they do here. Do it though, and see what happens. I wish Goldberg could just jackhammer all the 325 pound sacks of shit around here (and there are many) that diss him. ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2003 Anyone want to take bets on how long it will take before lordazzington faces the Wrath of Dames or someone like that? But back on topic, yeah, same rating as always for Raw...wake me up when new news comes on that front. As for GOldberg...if they knew about problems such as this arising, then WHY did they hire him? They sorta built their own version of Goldberg with Brock Lesnar, so WHY bother with the crappy prototype version?
