I think my favorite part is that is Michael Cole's bleeped "holy shit"

Is that really a bump, its more like a stunt.

Chioda falling like an idiot is priceless, ala Scott Hall in the 1998 version of this angle.

i posted a link to it already in the SD! thread. Probably does deserve it's own thread though.

I'm never online when Smackdown is on. I can't watch things and be on the computer at the same time. And since the Raw and Smackdown threads are 2,800 pages in by the time the show's over and I'm online I never get in them.

Didn't mean to take your thunder.

And I know it's just a stunt. But I can't remember that last time they nailed a crowd with something like that. They were going nuts/

Should the ringropes have fallen first? Something about that doesn't seem physically right.

If I didn't know better I'd say they're trying to make the show more interesting with spots like this. *gasp*

Nah there's no real thunder at all to be taken heh.

Frankly I am impressed that the whole thing didn't collapse earlier in the match(or show for that matter) on another bump. It came off about as well as it could have and I'm sure the guys that gimmicked the ring like that got a nice big bonus either way.

I also like them planning it to the last detail. Bringing up the house lights right when that happened was actually kind of neat to see with all the people losing their minds and whatnot.

I guess I'm the only one who sees this as a stupid stuntmam bump that accomplishes nothing except to avoid jobbing Big Show AGAIN?

I guess you are......That was an awesome visual and was pulled of perfectly. It did its job and got the crowd to go absolutely wild. Perhaps you would have felt differently if it was Angle delivering the superplex

Maybe you just always look at things in the worst possible connotation.

No, not really.

I don't watch wrestling to see the ring explode.

I would've felt differently if Brock picked the Fatass up, F5ed him and pinned him.

Perhaps if the "creative team" could write a good show, they wouldn't have to make the ring explode to get people to care.

Well, what's the silver lining?

All I see is another month of Big Show

He's already F5ed him countless times. The ring collapsing was something fresh and new. I haven't seen the ring collapse in a very long time, so they were giving us something most people haven't seen. They could have written a more interesting show instead of having a ring "explode," but you could say that about and component of something interesting. They don't need any single thing to cause interest. If the show was garbage save one ***** match, then you could say they should write better shows and not rely on classic matches for interest. The fact that it was, in fact, interesting, should be enough to please people. Not to say the show was great, it was far from it, but that WAS interesting, just like a ***** match on SD would be, just like a naked diva would be, just like Mitsuhara Misawa coming out and giving a Tiger Driver to Kurt Angle to set up their PPV match would be, just like a big spot like the one we saw. They're all interesting things. This was just one of them.

But if had F5's him on Thursday, this fucking feud would be over already. Why can't the ring explode and then Brock pins him?

The ring exploding was a way to keep Big Show in the mains. Nothing more nothing less.

You're DAMN RIGHT.

I DEMAND a good show every week with good matches top to bottom. They refuse to do that and try to appease me with a stuntman bump. Not gonna work.

Well, I now fully understand your position. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

Some people look at EVERYTHING in a negative way. Thats just the way it is.

I actually thought Big Show was alright in the match. Didn't mind him at all and its a TV main event. Not PPV. When Big Show is main eventing another PPV then i understand the complaints. This match was on FREE tv. No way they're gonna give Angle vs. Lesnar, or Benoit vs. Lesnar on free tv.

And if it ended there, it would be fine (ish)

But....

"THE OMG BEST THING EVER ***** OMG THE OMG OMG WHAT A FINSIH GOOD LORD WHAT A GREAT BUMP I HOPE THEY DO IT EVERY SHOW IT MADE THIS SMACKDOWN THE BEST THING EVER ON THE HISTORY OF TV!" bump extended it.

You know I've stepped away from this argument but I've got to say that you KNOW that statement is nothing but an insult and not conducive to any discussion here. It doesn't prove anyone wrong, it just makes you look immature by attacking his standards.

Nope, you aint. Should have saved it for a PPV anyways, and had a finish after it.
