Notes out of Bad Blood

(UNTIL I GET A MORE VALID SOURCE AS I DO ALWAYS TAKE THESE TIDBITS FOR WHAT ITS WORTH EVEN IF ITS A GRAIN OF SALT!)

Although we do not have full details, Mick Foley and WWE have agreed on a long term deal which involves him wrestling.

We are not sure about opponents at this time, but something has been struck and Foley is going to be around for quite some time.

More details shortly.

There was talk backstage at Bad Blood about unmasking Kane in the coming weeks.

Although this has been talked about for quite some time now, WWE has never gone through with it.

However, this time, WWE seems to be going a weird route with Kane, and if he turns heel as rumored, it's likely he would undergo a complete character change which could very well involve losing the mask.

The following is from WWE.com:

Rene Dupree tonight became the youngest World Tag Team Champion in WWE history at age 19. He’s believed to be the youngest Superstar to win a major WWE title of any kind. “It’s the first step in a long, prosperous career, hopefully,” Dupree told WWE.com after the match. Dupree said he was planning on calling his father, who trained him, later tonight, to get his comments on the match and to wish him a Happy Father’s Day. “Hopefully, his baby boy made him proud,” he said.

WWE Superstars are celebrating Father’s Day the same way they celebrate most holidays and special occasions -- by working, as opposed to spending time with their families. “I’ve never been there for anything,” said William Regal, who attended Bad Blood today. “That’s just the way this business is.” Rico also celebrated Father’s Day with his wife and daughter, who gave him a card, over the weekend. He said, “Father’s Day comes every day when I come home. Why does there have to be a certain day? Father’s Day is every day for me.” Storm said his kids gave him a card and a gift before he left home. Al Snow said his two children, both teenagers, gave him Father’s Day cards yesterday. Like most Superstars, he said he and his family have simply grown accustomed to being apart for holidays. Ric Flair brought his son, David, to the show so that they could spend the day together. The “Nature Boy” said his other kids had given him cards.

Goldust got a card and picture from his daughter, Dakota, and he was also planning on calling his own father, “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. Unfortunately, Goldust said he didn’t have a chance to celebrate with his father earlier this week because Rhodes’ mom (Goldust’s grandmother) passed away. D-Von Dudley, who has the tattoo “Mathew, Terrell ‘n’ Terrance -- Daddy’s Boys 4 Life,” on his left arm, said that this was the first Father’s Day in a few years for which he was neither home nor close enough to home that he could bring his sons to the show. Lilian Garcia was reminding all the Divas to call their dads. Garcia says Father’s Day is an important holiday for her, and that oftentimes Superstars can lose track of time due to their hectic schedules, and forget to call their dads. Victoria took Lilian’s advice and called her dad, and she had also sent a box of chocolates and some coffee to him. Ivory said she was planning to take her father out to dinner next week, when she’s in her native Southern California to attend the high-school graduation ceremonies of her niece and her nephew

Shawn Michaels told the WWE.com website crew he was disappointed in WWE for only giving himself and Ric Flair 18 minutes in their first ever match since he became a star. The two worked once before when Michaels was with 'The Rockers' tag-team, and it wasn't exactly a memorable performance.

Michaels told WWE.com, “You had two of the best wrestlers in the world. We were given 18 minutes to wrestle. That’s b.s.”

In another Michaels note, HBK has been battling the flu all week, and hasn't been able to eat much. He said he felt hungry after the match, so that was a good sign, but was very worn out as well.

The following is from WWE.com:

The Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young were part of the show tonight, but even if they weren’t, they would have come to Houston to watch Bad Blood, Moolah said. “I come to all the big pay-per-views,” Moolah said. “I’ve never missed a WrestleMania and don’t intend to. Next month, I’ll be 80 years old,” she said. “Vince McMahon has promised to give me a wrestling match on my birthday, and I’m going to kick some BUTT!”

Booker T’s brother and longtime tag team partner, Stevie Ray -- like Booker, a native of Houston -- was spotted backstage at the show tonight. Asked where Harlem Heat ranked on the list of the all-time best tag teams, Stevie Ray quickly responded, “No. 1. We built tag-team wrestling back to its glory days of old. We were glad we gave a lot of fans a lot of joy and excitement through the years, and we’re glad that (Harlem Heat) is a household name now. We’re proud of that.”

I attended Bad Blood tonight (actually seated front and center in the middle of the ring in the lower tier. I was wearing a Houston Gamblers t-shirt). Here are some notes:

Pre-Show

A couple of guys brought out a French flag and got HUGE heat. They did the same thing at RAW last September with a Canadian flag.

There were two guys in the front row, one dressed as Winnie The Pooh and another as Tigger, who got into it with Goldberg after his match. He laughed at them in the end and walked out.

The guy who threw Bischoff back into the ring was Matress Mac, Jim McIngvale (I think that is the correct spelling). He is a local celebrity and owner of Gallery Furniture, a big local business.

Post-Show

After the show ended. Nash hobbled to his feet and got an ovation while they played his music. He and Foley got halfway up the ramp when they played Foley's music. The WWE Vengeance promo, with Kurt Angle, ran and then Lillian thanked the fans. No return date announced, but it is the last WWE event at Compaq Center, so they won't return until the new arena (downtown) is completed in October.

Voula, of Tough Enough 3, has actually entered the WWE Diva Search Contest on WWE.com. Her photo can be viewed in the Northeast/Canada section of the Diva Search site.

LiveAudioWrestling reported an interesting note that WWE is seriously considering having one or two RAW vs. SmackDown! matches at WrestleMania XX. Being that the dismal buyrate for this year's WrestleMania showed that the annual spectacular is no longer the must-see event it once was, WWE is looking for ways to make sure it can get a big buyrate for its 20th WrestleMania. The mixed-roster competition is one idea to boost ratings, and seems to be very likely at this point.

Many backstage in WWE yesterday at Bad Blood did not know if Goldberg was even going to stay in the building for his match with Jericho. When he arrived at the arena, he was livid and went on a warpath. Someone talked him into staying and working the match but this is not over by any means.

To update the situation on Mick Foley wrestling in WWE, they have asked him to extend his current short-term deal and have also offered him to come back whenever he wants. If Foley were to wrestle one more match, it probably wouldn't be for several months or even WrestleMania 2004. It almost resembles HBK's status with WWE last year when he was on and off TV when he was needed.

For those that were wondering why the PPV ended so early last night, the word making the rounds after the show was that the Hell in a Cell match was supposed to go longer than it did. Triple H and Nash were said to be a dressing room before the PPV all day yesterday watching old tapes to see what they could do to make their match better.

With the PPV ending early, HBK was pretty ticked off at WWE officials because they only gave his match eighteen minutes. He had asked for thirty was not granted it.

AGAIN TAKE ALL THIS FOR WHAT ITS WORTH

I know endless bitching about Mick Foley is coming soon (as ex wrestlers should fade away and go on welfare or something and not make money) but I'm excited for a Mick Foley feud to be starting soon.

Foley doesn't need to wrestle anymore, let somebody else take the spotlight instead of the same rehashed wrestlers, the WWE should think about their futrure instead of trying to bring back the past.

Yeah that's fucked up how the people who didn't even have any part of the show couldn't be with their kids.

it's a part of the job Game...My father missed almost every Father's Day because he was on the road and I didn't go with him on most of those trips until I was about 12...So I understand how it goes...

All that matters is that you don't let this one day be the only day you give love to your father

Sadly, Foley is the only guy that could feasibly defeat HHH, unless Y2J turns and gets pushed to the moon. HHH has destroyed everyone else on the roster for the past year. At least Mick has had a few years off since HHH kicked his ass.

Losing the mask so fans can officially know it's Issac Yankem.

sheesh, the ONLY ones who would remember "Isaac Yankem" would be the smarks...

Get rid of the mask and the rest of the stupid gimmick.

As much as I love Foley, do we really need another has been clogging up the main event scene? Saying that all of their younger talent have been successfully buried (thanks Hunter) and out of all the guys they've brought back Foley is the only one I could give a shit about. Unmasking Kane will finish him off, as he is dead after necrophilia. And the old Shawn seems to be slowly coming back too.

JR: Oh my gawd!!!!!!! for gawd sake king.........it's Diesel........it's NEW Diesel. I brought that son of a bitch in years ago when i momentarily turned heel. That bastard lied to everyone about being Undertaker's brother and now Diesel is gonna feud with Kevin Nash for the right to have the Diesel gimmick. Good gawd...good gawd almighty!!!!"

Goldberg was very upset backstage at Bad Blood last night. The reason for this was because of the comments Linda McMahon made at a recent conference call, where she referred to Goldberg as a "disappointment". Friends of Goldberg claim he has been very ticked off since hearing about what was said, and he made sure his feelings were known to just about anyone who would listen at the PPV.

Tensions continue to build between Goldberg and WWE officials since the company feels he should be more over than he currently is. Executives feel he is not delivering the way they thought he would when they signed him a few months ago.

Many, however, don't blame Goldberg for his character not being over, since the company has booked him to look weak nearly every week since debuting on RAW. How is a guy, who is supposed to have this "unstoppable monster" gimmick, get over with the fans when he is continually made to look weak each and every week on television? I think the finger should be pointed at WWE's creative team, but that's just my opinion.

ick Foley is confirmed to be appearing at RAW tonight in Dallas, Texas. He will most definitely be involved in an angle with Triple H, which some are speculating could lead to a match between the two at Summer Slam. The original plan was for Triple H to face Goldberg at the PPV, but with Goldberg not being where the company wants him to be at this point, they have apparently decided to take him out of the main event. Goldberg will, however, still be wrestling on the card as he is rumored to be facing Chris Jericho in a rematch from last night's PPV.

# It now looks as though the "Tough Enough" series will be returning after all. At this point, it's not known whether it will air on Spike TV or MTV. The next season will be taped in or will air in January, and there will reportedly be major changes in the show's format.

# La Resistance will soon begin a feud with The Dudley Boyz.

# Sources are reporting that Marc Mero and Rena Mero (aka Sable) have separated. This happened right around the time Rena made her return to WWE television and they now are living in separate homes. When the agreement was made for her to return, she had agreed that Marc, who was strongly against her returning, would have nothing to do with her career from this point forward.

# A-Train's WWE contract recently expired, but the company decided to renew it at a lower downside guarantee. This is pretty much the common theme these days.

GOOD THING: More Foley

BAD THING: Maskless Kane

Meh, I don't like either idea. Foley should stay retired. Now he'll end up just like Terry funk. Retiring about 12 times only to come back two months later after each retirement. Give it up, Mick. I love ya and all, but give it up. If he just had an on-air role, it would be so bad, but I don't want Foley as a wrestler anymore.

Maskless Kane is NOT a good idea at all.

Kane is a bankable Creation that they fucked up royally when they made him human....They interconnected him to a Main eventer in the Undertaker. If they unmask him for the lay crowd to put two and two together the suspension of disbelief, storylines etc etc goes in the toliet.
