I still think DH idea of Show being An M.Fer is a fucking brilliant idea...

If you put two guys that the fans have no interest in, in a match, and have them wrestle for a title that the fans have no interest in, do you expect the fans to care?

Such is Benoit vs. Rhyno. The WWE has buried each guy (in their own way: completely jobbing Benoit out, putting Rhyno on Velocity) to the point that the fans don't care about them. Which is exactly what I've been saying for the past few weeks. The WWE Braintrusts think that by getting the fans to stop cheering Benoit by making them lose their respect for him, it will be easier for them to turn him heel. Of course, what they don't realise, is that when fans stop caring about a wrestler they don't cheer OR boo him.

So who did Smackdown trade for Bradshaw? If they acknowledge it at all, I would say Rikishi.

If they do acknowledge it and it is Rikishi, watch he replace Jamal in 3 Minute Warning.

Oh, and I find it funny that both teams that were broken up by the brand extension originally are back together again.

Shouldn't Angle's first match back have been more hyped?

but Moore and Crash came out to an opener that was a

parody of Matt Hardy's opener. The computer graphic starts to load up, but had

a "system failure" at 30% loaded.

That's comedy gold.

I like who I like, but too many people don't know what they like and are swept away by the tide of soiled underwear in the name of the staple Smark favourites.

This coming from someone who declared that Billy Gunn was the key to enjoying the product?

I'd rather not cross that bridge, then. I don't want people thinking that I think watching a 40 year old with earrings and a navel ring shaking his ass is entertaining. So call me an elitist, egomaniacal, or whatever buzz adjective you please to try and put me down, but realize that people look upon Gunn, Rikishi, Kane, etc. with mockery and pity when they channel surf. I've seen it.

EDIT: BTW, Keith likes Rhyno for whatever reason. I've thought Rhyno was a tas de merde even before he came back four months ago. Try again, please.

SMACKDOWN Report:

(1) Undertaker def. Nunzio (w/ FBI).

Blah. Funny part to open the match as Nunzio dives through the ropes to get away from Taker. Match was horridly boring though but the fans ate it up. Bradshaw looks..interesting with his new haircolor..

Zack Gowen gets lured into "Stephanie McMahon's Office" by sable.

(2) Chris Benoit def. Rhyno.

The US Belt has stars and stripes on the front.

I wish I could get a pic up but not gonna happen. Anyway, I personally think it was a good match, but the fans shit on it early with boring chants and a Go Spurs Go chant. After the commercial break, the action picked up and the fans got into it. Rhyno played up to the crowd a lot, so Im thinking Benoit is getting a heel turn..

Back in "Stephanie McMahon's Office" Zach looks like he's never been with a woman at all, let alone a woman old enough to be his mother with big inflated boobs and an annoying voice. The expressions on his face are priceless..

(3) Rey Mysterio def. Kanyon.

Cole mentions that Kanyon knows a monk in Tibet, so I guess they will go through with that angle. Pretty interesting offense from Rey and surprisingly Kanyon got some offense in as well.

(4) Kurt Angle def. Charlie Haas. Haas and Benjamin came out to ringside in

new outfits and new music which sucks. The colors of their outfits (Maroon and silver) are the colors of their respective universities.

Match was very good, with a commercial break in between.

In "Stephanie McMahon's Office" Zach actually gets fooled into thinking hes gonna get some action, and then Vince walks in and they make fun of him and reveal how they tricked him and stuff.

(5) Billy Gunn (w/ Torrie Wilson) def. Jamie Noble (w/ Nidia). Not much to say for this match, but it wasn't as bad as you'd think.

(6) Sean O'Haire (w/ Roddy Piper) def. Eddie Guerrero (w/ Tajiri). Worst match of the night.

O'haire gets the win with a move called "The Prophecy".

Stephanie walks in on Vince and Sable and then chews out Vince for basically whoring her out to other businessmen when she was 17, and how she's basically turned out exactly like her father and she really wants Zach to get a contract, but she could care less if Vince fires her or not.

(7) Brock Lesnar def. Big Show by disqualification to retain the WWE

Championship. Actually a decent match.

If the run in madness is any indicator, the 6 man next week at MSG should have the fans crazy..

Overall, 7 matches and 4-5 of them were average or better. The best match of the night was either Benoit Rhyno or Angle Haas depending on how much emphasis you put on crowd response. Worst match of the night was definitely O'haire vs Eddie Guerrero and Taker vs Nunzio.

The Stephanie is mad at Vince angle cannot go well (based on the bolded part)..

Her actual words "...Everytime I went out to dinner with one of your business associates when I was 17 years old, you don't think they told me what you promised them I'd do? And guess what dad, I did it. I did it for you..the things I did with them and Im ashamed of myself, Im ashamed of myself because Im just like you...."

DAAAMN...

I can where this is going...

Stephanie falls in love with Gowan because he is an normal guy (not a wrestler) and wants him hired...

Gowan has the same feelings...

hhh returns...rips the other leg off and squashes Gowan and Stephanie rushes back into Hunter's Roided arms in re-marriage...

I guess I'll try my "Keith Lite" recapping skills. They lockup and stall a bit. Some technical stuff to start. Crowd immediately starts chanting GO SPURS GO which causes Rhyno to look confused. Rhyno reverses a hammerlock and rolls him up for two. Benoit back on the armbar. Benoit gets picked up and driven into the corner. They switch places for some chops. Rhyno switches places for some crappy punches. Both kick and punch to the other corner and the gore is avoided.

STTTTAAAAAAAALLLLLLL. Having not gone through post production, you can hear Tazz mumble "Cole if they start swinging here, if Benoit brings his back *unintelligible*" Incredible amounts of stalling while Rhyno plays with the crowd. Cole and Tazz say both guys "Have been beating the hell out of each other the whole commercial break" HAHAHAHAHA. Rhyno tries a Half-Crab that goes nowhere. More Benoit chops and stuff in the corner. Elbow gets one. Rhyno puts Benoit in powerbomb position then drops his head into the corner for two. Rhyno clothesline for two. Another, again for two. Running slam gets two. Crappy pulling at the neck gets two. Benoit small package for two. Chinlock. He escapes, but into another. Benoit FINALLY escapes but winds up in /ANOTHER/ chinlock.

Benoit escapes. Punch punch, kick kick, that's where all the action is. Benoit suplex gets two. Germans are avoided. Rhyno spinebuster. Benoit gest the German this time. Headbutt gets two. Rhyno DDT, both men lay prone on the apron. They get up, gore misses. Double axehandle to the back gets two. Crossface, Rhyno taps.

If Keith has an honest bone in his body he'll shit on this.

Sorry for the horrible quality, but thats the best pic I could get of the US title. I don't have screen capture stuff so I had to take it with my webcam.

And to add insult to injury, they are playing up the title's history, going back to 1975 with Harley Race winning the title.

Christian is "meh" but Matt Hardy is 10x more entertaining than Hardy.

Maybe the reason so many people clamor for the push of these guys is b/c they are oh I dunno......entertained by them? And then we have jackasses like you who go on like "Oh a mass group of people likes this person. So I will dislike them to go against the grain and be cool and edgey!" I mean it's stupid. Why dislike something because so many people are entertained by it?

I personally would rather be 'edgey' and like who I want to like than be a smark sheep, hating the hosses and loving Benoit and Angle JUST because everyone else does.

Umm......why are they a smark sheep? They like Benoit and Angle because THEY ARE ENTERTAINING and dislike hosses BECAUSE THEY ARE BORING.

I don't understand how that makes you a sheep. If anything it should tell you that they are entertaining and they are boring because so many people think so.

Hell I like some hosses. Kane comes to mind. I just don't like the incredibley boring ones like Show and Albert.

And I like who I like. Because I like them. I can't help it if everyone else does to. And I'm willing to bet 99% of these people are just like me. They like who they like because they do. Can't help it if everyone else does to.

Oh, don't get me wrong. The majority of people like Angle/Benoit because of their superior in ring quality. Some newbies though seem to just say it to get on everyone's good side. You know, they agree with everything said. So yeah, most people do like people for their own reason...I wasn't meaning you when I said that.

Then why don't they freaking use the real belt?

I've never really understood the occasional poster who mocks everyone for liking Benoit. I mean really, if you've seen a bunch of good Benoit matches, why would you not like Benoit? You can trash people for liking Hogan or Cena or something, but Benoit?

I'm not against people hating Benoit...but I am against people blindly liking everything the guy does, just because he's Chris Benoit.

And here we go again. How's it ok to trash people for liking Cena or Hogan, and not Benoit. I know WHY...cause Benoit's a great wrestler. But it still sucks when you can only like people that the majority of other people like, without being criticised. People have reasons for liking Hogan. He pops the crowd, he's more over than about 95% of the roster, at least. That and sentimental value. Cena has charisma, has a fresh gimmick (well, he makes it fresh), and despite being a heel is getting face pops. Like him or not, you can't argue with the fact he's getting face pops as a heel, so he must be doing something right.

Oh and is Cena on this show?

Yeah Edge was the last US champion as they unifed it with the IC title which was held by Christian at that Point...I think...

aw, you don't have to like the guys everyone else likes. You just have to like people who are good.

For example, I have been known to mark for D'Lo, Lance Storm, and Christian, all 3 hated by many people. But the're all good wrestlers, which is why I like them.

Lots of people love Cena. But I don't, because he SUCKS. So there ya go.

Posted

I never once said I loved Billy Gunn or A-Train's as wrestlers, but was sick of people slagging them off day in and day out and decided to defend them.

I don't mind either of them, but puhlease stop using the old chestnut of "ooh, Matt Hardy didn't get a push because of him" or "Benoit couldn't even get a good match of Billy Gunn"

Guest The Mighty Damaramu

But Benoit could even get a good match out of Billy Gunn! And Benoit is a miracle worker! Hell since Kurt Angle is so good at WWE style I don't even think he could get a good match out of BG!
