Guest sean pyro Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I thought tonight was real good show, kinda disappointed in so many DQ endings but other than that I thought they did real well. PS: X-Pac still sucks.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Raven wants to get his hands on Russo for costing him the match against Gilbertti three weeks ago, and it seems Douglas keeps getting in his way.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 My two complaints about this show: The finish to London/Sabin. Punk couldn't have DDT'd London AFTER the match, and maybe just caught London's attention long enough for Sabin to hit the Future Shock? It accomplishes the same thing (possible London/Punk feud over Punk costing him the X-Division title), and gives us a clean win. ...and... WHY THE FUCK DID JARRETT GO OVER?! I could understand STING going over tonight, as he's a huge name and it was his debut night...but JARRETT?! WHAT THE FUCK?! Decent show tonight. Still doesn't top the show when Raven/Jarrett main-evented.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Just got home from watching it with a few friends. We all loved it. Couldn't believe Waltman showed up, especially after reading that article he wrote. Was it a work all along? Seeing Sting was great, as well. All in all...very nice show. Loved the tag title match and the main event the most....BG Jame was fucking hilarious.

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 How odd is it seeing CM PUNK act like Raven and want to join The Gathering?
Guest Nanks Report post Posted June 19, 2003 6 Man was cool, smart keeping Sandman out of the ring when you have Kazarian as an option Russo/AJ/Tenay/D'Lo was LOOOOONG, but in the end served a good enough purpose Sabin v London ruled, but I agree that CM Punk could've waited til afterwards to interfere, but then again, his idolising of Raven is a more long term story, and when Raven does his sit in the corner thing he never waits til afterwards when he interferes. I like the CM punk story, he's got the right look for it too. The New Jack/Shark Boy thing is funny as. That's a very good use of Shark Boy, he has to be goofy, he's a guy in a shark mask for god's sake. Hulk hands was awesome!! Lynn v Credible was kinda disappointing, but it builds the story, that's OK I guess Didn't really like the Kid Kash bit Didn't really like the BG James bit Fuck Waltman, that was disappointing And a HUGE FUCK YOU to Triple J. There are 2 people in the match that needed the rub. Arguably only 1. Sting has all the heat he needs seeing as it sounds like he'll be a bit of a pinch hitter. AJ needed to go over Sting. The heel champ needed to go over the biggest babyface in the match. That's Sting. FUCK YOU JEFF JARRETT
Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted June 19, 2003 It's funny to read Russo's Raw remarks about how crappy he thinks the show is, yet the stuff he does on the NWA makes quite a few of the same mistakes! Non finishes to matches that no one cares about (Saturn vs. Japanese dude), insanely rushed matches that should have been good (Lynn/Credible), and bringing back fucking X PAC. I did enjoy the X title match, the tag match, and the main event though. Sting looked better than I've seen him look in years from what little he was in there. It's amusing to me that WWE signs these washed up bums like Steiner and Nash while Sting hasn't been signed as of yet. He still seems to be able to go reasonably well. Let's just hope it isn't over the Panda owner's daughter and Jeff Jarrett to the rights of a female bulldog.
Guest JRE Report post Posted June 19, 2003 It was a okay to good show as far as TNA shows go. But I was expecting a pretty great show for the "Anniversary Special." But then again....I've always known Russo can't book big shows (Look at the 'Manias he put under his belt in the WWF) Stephanie/Jericho=Styles/Russo
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 its funny how the people saying fuck you jarrett were probably saying jarrett is a god or something stupid last week and will probably praise him if puts him and styles in some kind of gimmick match and lets styles hand his ass to him. i hope thats what happens. i love to see people eat their words and Non finishes to matches that no one cares about (Saturn vs. Japanese dude) they had to have that kind of finish. no promotion wants their guy to job to someone else who probably wont even be in the promotion but one time. the same thing would have happened if saturn appeared on their program. if it was gonna be a long term deal, then jobbing wouldn't be a issue, but since more than likely it is a one time deal, it need a no contest ending. Dangerous K89 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 All in all, it was a good show. It did have some bad parts such as the interpromotional match and the Russo interview before AJ Styles came out. - Jarrett pinning the champ a week after he won the title. What is this? The imitation of the way WWE uses their IC title? - I was nearly begging Russo to get off my screen almost the entire time he was on there. Before AJ came out, there was absolutely NO point to his promo. All he did was get cheap heat with the generic southern insults. - I'm not too happy with AJ turning heel while Jarrett stays face. And AJ sounds really stupid saying "zip it". - I know I wouldn't be the only one happy with a new Triple Threat (without Russo), right? - That looked like Mideon in the cage. - Saturn has a cool entrance. Nice new entrance way for TNA. - The X Division title match really kicked ass. While I don't like saying much bad stuff about CM Punk, I didn't like him coming out there and ruining the heat of the London/Sabin match. He SHOULD have done that thing in the boring interpromotional match instead of Lynn/Credible brawling more. - Lynn/Credible was good while the SHORT while it lasted. Somebody's match got cut short tonight...also, they could almost book Credible as a vampire now with as pale as his freakin' skin is. He needs to get a tan along with some more muscle mass to get his look back like he had in ECW. - So, how long does Sting stay with TNA? Too bad it probably won't be long with WWE eventually picking him up to add to Piper/Hogan/Road Warriors/Goldberg/etc. He really gave that main event some big heat. - SEAN WALTMAN!?! Gah. Nobody wanted to see him in the WWE, NOBODY (but Engies) wants to see him in TNA. Nice that the "X-PAC SUCKS" chants have evolved into "YOU STILL SUCK" chants. - Why can't Curry Man wait longer to emerge again? I want Daniels to stay in TNA longer than next week . The tag match was easily the best match of the show. I can easily see Low Ki getting kicked out of XXX eventually since Skipper/Daniels carried the group while Low Ki was elsewhere/injured. Then, MAYBE that could lead to a feud with Styles for the title .

Astro101 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 With Sharkboy in the background with those Hulk Hands during the Hard 10...I almost cried laughing. Love that stuff. It was a good show tonight. I'm expecting New Church to rise from the dead in the cage match next week. They were born for it. All the matches were decent to good...but some of the endings sucked. I was entertained, and I guess that's what matters.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 sting has already said he doesn't want to be away from his family on the road all of the time. 1 day a week over 2 days a week sometimes. and styles was saying zip it back during his first heel run. and why do people think the wwf chooses who they want, the wrestlers choose where they want to go. vince cant just say "sting, we want you. go to mississippi on sunday and prepare for raw", if sting doesn't want to go, he wont. and borash has said he will be in tna for longer than this wednesday. i expect him to stay at least a month or 5 shows. Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Shark Boy made me care about a New Jack match. That's insane. I'd have to imagine that JJ went over because he won't be winning that rematch that he gets within thirty (now 23) days. Russo tried so hard to get Jarrett over as a face...and they still chanted Triple J. Maybe they should think about that. Tag match was awesome...and now...finally...a CAGE!!!!! X match had some real good stuff and I'm glad to see CM Punk getting a full time direction. Sting looked great. I'm not a Sting fan...but he looked great. Um...what else...Oh yeah...TOO many cideo packages and non-wrestling segments. I don't care that Lynn/Credible only went three minutes because I know I'll be seeing that match over and over for the next few weeks anyway. And...as long as they keep Eric Watts out of a wrestling match...he will be the most over man in the company
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I really dug the show tonight. No, it wasn't perfect, but as some others here have said, it was pretty damned entertaining overall. Certainly not the best TNA, but it was worthy. Random thoughts: 1) The New Jack promo was hilarious as fuck. When he told Shark Boy to stop smiling and you could tell by Shark Boy's eyes that he was just sort of confused, I died laughing. New Jack is definitely the most entertaining guy left in the Hard 10, so I really hope he wins the damn thing. 2) I am pleased with CM Punk's presence, and I hope it leads to a London/Punk match for X-Title contendership. Though, yes, CM should have attacked AFTER the match and not before. 3) It baffles me that Jarrett continues to get pushed to the moon as a face when the fans still seem to dislike him. Jarrett should get his ass handed to him in the rematch and begin a heel run, and AJ should get a fresh feud. Who should he feud with, you ask? D-Lo. They planted the seeds for it tonight, and D-Lo deserves it (the crowd was solidly behind D-Lo during the six man and the confrontation with Russo). It looks like that's what they're going to do, but with TNA's booking as of late, you just never know. 4) Triple X will drop the titles next week, of course. Who the hell does that leave AMW to feud with? The New Church? Beh. The TNA tag scene really needs to be freshened up. 5) Call me crazy, but Waltman didn't seem to suck too badly tonight. Maybe it's just because I haven't seen the guy in forever, but I found him okay. Still, his being the mystery partner was disappointing, but with his wearing street clothes...perhaps he wasn't the first choice and was actually a late backup plan? 6) Kenzo Suzuki sucked major ass, as did Saturn. As a matter of fact, their match was the only part of the show I didn't enjoy to some extent, save for the flashbacks, which often seemed to be a collection of the worst moments in TNA history. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Of all the Japanese wrestlers we could have gotten, we got Kenzo Suzuki. JOOOOOOOY. Oh, and I'm astonished at how well Shark Boy can emote and act without speaking and only using his eyes. He looked like a child hiding something when he was hiding the Hulk Hands, it was so great. Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 *Laughs* And instead of parodying movies, they just take random children's toys and mess with them, making it even MORE random since that has nothing to do with either of their gimmicks.
Adam 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 Next week I hope they play Cluedo, and Jack is the killer.
Guest Devin Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I've been waiting for them to play Hungry Hungry Hippos since Candy Land. I'd settle for Rockem' Sockem' Robots. If they really wanted to have a good segment, they'd have them playing with the old wrestling ring/wrestling figures. I can see it now, they're reenacting Savage vs. Steamboat when New Jack gets pissed off and pulls out his New Jack figure complete with a staple gun.
AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 This was my second TNA PPV (May 14th being the other). My satellite service only shows it once a month, unfortunately. The show was pretty good overall. The matches were short, but I guess that's somewhat forgivable, given the celebratory nature of the event. Saturn didn't look very good in his match. Neither did the disappointing mystery partner in the main event. I guess there was some storyline involving Waltman saying he'd never work for Russo again, but for anyone who wasn't around for that... it was X-Pac not working very well. Shark Boy rules. Amazing Red wasn't there, but Vince Russo was. Sting did well, and got a strong reaction from the crowd, of course. I really, really wish I could see that cage match next week, especially if Chris Daniels is leaving. Maybe I'll get lucky, and ExpressVu will pick it up. AnonymousBroccoli 0 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 especially if Chris Daniels is leaving. Excuse me can you explain? I might've missed this. "In fact, in two weeks, I return to Japan. And if these are the last two weeks that you people are gonna see me, then you'd better believe Triple X is gonna celebrate in a blaze of glory!" I'm a TNA noob, so I have no idea if it's legit, but that's what he said.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted June 19, 2003 First show for me and I absolutely loved it. Coulda done without Saturn/Suzuki but I guess every show has to slow down every now and then. I thought the tag titles match was awesome, one of the best tag matches I've seen in quite soem time, which isn't surprising considering I've had to endure WWE for so long. The Main Event was . . . eh. The ring action was good when everyone wasn't off outside the ring doing crap, but Jarrett going over seemed a little out of place to me. Poor AJ. He finally makes it to the top only to have a reign that's so far been the result of interference and he loses to the guy he just beat the next week. I'd have rather seen Sting take it if the faces just had to win. And X-Pac sucks. I'd have rather seen Franchise come out.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted June 19, 2003 I don't understand all the fuck you Jarrett stuff. Double J went over to build to the rematch they will have where he will hopefully do the job. It's pointless putting Styles over him again because then no one thinks Jarrett has a chance. The tag title match was a bit overrated in my eyes- I couldn't get into the near fall pop! stuff because it started three minutes into the match. Still a good match though. London v. Sabin was AWESOME. I'm a huge Paul London mark and the man delivered last night. I wish they would stop doing the 20 minute promos- It's a waste of time and always kills the momentum of a show for me IMO. I buy TNA for wrestling- not for talking. They should've cut the Hard 10 and Saturn matches so the show wouldn't have seemed so rushed
