Guest GameCop Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Besides Rock or Austin, which wrestler do you see making the biggest impact, assuming Vince fires one or two for voicing their concerns to management? IMO, RVD or Jericho would propel NWA-TNA into the stratosphere.
Guest HartFan86 Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Benoit, and I'm not just saying that because he's one of my favorites or a smark darling...but he would be used more then a midcard tag team wrestler on Velocity. He'd rock the house.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 RVD...hed actuallly have a reason to wrestle. hed be hugely over. RVD loves the indy-style matches, and hed be happy to be allowed to actually wrestle again.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 SPanky. I'd LOVE to see him in the X-Division
Guest cabbageboy Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 RVD, not even close. Benoit isn't really someone fans naturally gravitate towards, and Jericho in the NWA would reek of a guy who hit the skids. But RVD in the NWA would seem like an anti authority type guy who got sick of Vince's crap and wanted to do his ECW style again. He could also be the guy to bridge the gap of the main division and the X division.
Guest Downhome Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Hogan, Taker, Goldberg, or another huge "name talent" such as that. They may not be exactly what TNA needs in terms of talent, but having a name like that would do huge things for TNA in terms of getting them more exposure and a TV deal.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 RVD. Flippy-floppy would fit the X-Division, even though the X-Division had been having lots of ACTUAL MATCHES lately, and he has enough charisma to make a match with JJ seem enjoyable.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 RVD by a country mile (and I don't know why I used that cliche). Eddie and Benoit and Jericho are obviously far better workers...and Jericho is a bigger star... but RVD is the absolute bar none perfect fit for TNA. That sounds like a knock on RVD but it really isn't. His style is such that he has a very vocal and rabid fanbase. His exposure in WWE would make a TNA run bigger than anything he did in ECW. They would be perfect for each other.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 I'd laugh if Hogan turned up on NWA:TNA saying he got sacked by WWE, forcing Vince to break kayfabe.
Guest The Czech Republic Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 I'd laugh if Hogan turned up on NWA:TNA saying he got sacked by WWE, forcing Vince to break kayfabe. WHILE Mr. America was still on SmackDown!
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Eddie can carry, he can wrestle great matches, cut a great promo and work both with the X Division and Heavyweights. Then again, not one person will bring salvation, but Eddie is a strong enough base to increase the enjoyability of (any) show.
Guest Choken One Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 If you asking what name would put NWA on the map? None of them will outside of Austin and Rock and that's ONLY if NWA does it right. Benoit, Eddy are fine wrestlers but would NOT bring much expoursure to NWATNA other then this market they already tapped into (Smarks)... Jericho is LARGER THEN LIFE and would not fit in with the NWATNA scene. However, ROB VAN DAM is the ONE and ONLY person under WWE contract that could make an Impact. He had an large following with ECW and has gained an PLEATHORA of new fans...and thus would bring those fans in with him to see him run the show in NWATNA... RVD strives in those scenes and environments... but it won't take NWATNA to WWE levels but perhaps WCW levels of the early 90's...and maybe...JUST...maybe a tv deal with fox or whoever...
Guest BoboBrazil Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 HHH. Oh it would be great to hear the crowd rip into him.
King Cucaracha Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 ECW style RVD would do for TNA what it did for ECW. Sell merchandise, pop the crowd, provide a style of wrestling that people will watch. And hell it'd be better for RVD too. Wrestling wise though, Eddie Guerrero would rule in TNA. Eddie-Styles, Eddie-Low Ki, Eddie-Lynn. Although if The Rock turned up on TNA, then that would help just a little.
Guest Trivia247 Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 the NWA TNA only wants those Midcarders whom has ample skills and have Main evented elsewhere, but are treated like shit by the WWE... so... Austin and Rock are out. Maybe Kane, since they just Raped his character as horrible as Raping a Dead woman in her coffin.. cough cough.
Guest Legend Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Big Show...we all saw what he did to the WWE ring seriously though someone like rey mysterio would bring in support of tna
Guest humongous2002 Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 RVD, 'nuff said(And it seems i'm not the only one that thinks this way).
Guest nikowwf Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 A lot of guys would help them. Any top WWE guy is earning 10X what NWA/TNA would be able to pay them though....its kind of like speculating which New York Yankee would be the best person to join my softball team. niko
Guest Cerebus Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Legend, off topic, but is that pic on your sig of KA real or doctored?
LooseCannon25 Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 That's a real pic.....Kurt Angle made an appearance in ECW 3 or 4 years ago.
ChrisMWaters Posted June 27, 2003 Report Posted June 27, 2003 Legend, off topic, but is that pic on your sig of KA real or doctored? It's real...I remember how he was introduced too. This was shortly after that one silver-medalist wrestler was in the crowd for an episode of Nitro... Joey Styles comes out...says something about all the wrestling companies getting Olympic people with them... "WWF got Mark Henry...he didn't win any gold, but oh well. WCW had (what's his name)...who got a silver medal in wrestling...but we here in EAW do things better. So here is the Freestyle 220 Pound weightclass Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle!" Which is why I marked out later when he appeared on Heat during a whole Tiger Ali Singh segment and since then have been a Kurt Angle fan.
Adam Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 Yeah, and then Angle left ECW because he took exception to an angle involving Raven and a cross. Getting back on topic, Id love to see RVD in TNA. Although he would only be on my TV once a month
Guest El Satanico Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 RVD or Jericho Either would be huge in TNA, but I'd lean towards RVD. TNA needs a strong majorly over face for the world title scene. RVD is better suited for that role.
King Cucaracha Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 Yeah, and then Angle left ECW because he took exception to an angle involving Raven and a cross. Just imagine how different things could have been if Angle stayed instead of leaving. ECW might have got somewhere... So...Kurt Angle would make the biggest impact in TNA. See...it was on topic.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted June 28, 2003 Report Posted June 28, 2003 No it wouldn't have. ECW would still be right where it was, and Angle would have been signed away by the WWF or WCW.

ECW would still be right where it was, and Angle would have been signed away by the WWF or WCW. And, having already been established in annother company, he'd have to "pay his dues", and would probably be stuck in a Jericho/Benoit role right now. OK, even more than right now
