Latest Shane "Hurricane" Helms commentary

Recommended Posts

This was posted yesterday, but looking around the board I didn't see it. Maybe because his writing style at times looks like that of an AOL chat room user, I don't know, but here it is...

Entry #51 Thursday, June 26th, 2003.

"Heroes have to stand for something if they're gonna be heroes, and super heroes need to stand for even more."

First off, check the main page to see about an appearance in Poughkeepsie, NY that I have tomorrow!

Now, I finally got to work with Shawn Michaels! I was a big fan of HBK coming up, so it was a thrill to team with him and Nash recently on RAW. One thing about Nash though, when you hang out with him backstage and in gym's and stuff like that, you kind of forget just how big he is. But standing next to him in the ring, I was like diz-amn this dude's big. Same thing with the Big Show, first time I worked him (in Toronto I think?) and he came walking down the aisle, I was thinking, "Man, I hope he doesn't go nuts and eat my legs off!" Now, don't get me wrong, I'll still chokeslam the hurra-piss out of both of them, I'm just saying!

It was also very cool to team with Sgt. Slaughter this past Monday on RAW. Sarge is definitely an unsung hero in the biz and a true legend at that. Although we were probably the strangest team ever it was still a lot of fun teaming with him even though we had to wrestle La Resistance, which is French for "resist the urge to change the channel." LOL What? Who said that? :) I'm over here now!

But seriously, now that I've worked with HBK, all I have to do is work with Randy Savage and my list of all-time favorites will be complete! Of course they're are a couple more that I would love to work with, but as a kid, for me, the sun rose and set on Savage, Michaels, and Flair!

The WWE's recent tour in England was a lot of fun, but I inadvertently ribbed myself. See, the night before an international flight I usually stay up all night with the plans of sleeping on the plane during the trip over so that once I land I'll be refreshed and ready to go. Seems logical right? However, once I got on the plane, someone handed me a copy of Freddie Blassie's book, and me being me, I just couldn't put it down. The book is really, really great! So anyway, once I got to England, I got a little rest but not nearly enough, as I had basically been up for 2 days straight. So now it's Friday night, and I'm wrestling that beady eyed Lance Storm and well to be honest, I'm a little "off." And that's being nice! My jumping clothesline had NO JUMP, my floating neckbreaker had all the floatation of a cement block, and my usually very high flying cross body looked more like a drunk man falling off a roof. But the Shining Wizard was still shining so at least I did that right. LOL

A funny story coming back from the UK was that while we were clearing customs, there are signs everywhere for something called Foot and Mouth disease which I gather is a problem over in the UK. So I'm reading one of the signs and I turn to the guys and say, "I don't know about Foot and Mouth, but I know about that Foot In Ass disease, cause I'm spreading that sh*t worldwide!" LOL See? I have to entertain myself!

On to random thoughts: Movies that I've seen recently are Matrix Reloaded which I loved although I think that the computer jargon got a little heavy. I went to college for computer programming and even I at times, was like, "Wtf are they talking about?" X-Men 2 was really good, even better than the first to be honest. Finding Nemo was good. Wrong Turn was okay and reminded me why Jaime Noble is so scary. The Hulk was good, but it could have been sooooo much better. I hate when Hollywood feels the need to change the stories in books for absolutely no reason. The Hulk has been around for over 30 years, obviously something is working. Man, Hollywood sucks sometimes. Bruce Almighty was real good too. I think there are a few more that I have seen but I can't think of them right now, so enough of that.

Books to read are Freddie Blassie's book, like I said before, I read it in one sitting. It was that good. Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris is real good. It's a vampire story, which I usually don't dig because vampires suck (get it? vampires, they suck blood, get it? oh well) but this turned out to really really good. Check it out if you feel so inclined.

Check out Stacey Keibler in Stuff magazine if you get a chance. Very nice (nice meaning hot as hell) photo layout of her in there.

Speaking of hot, I just saw the new Beyonce video (and I probably brutalized the spelling of her name) and she is on the HOT list too! I mean, she's no Jaime Pressley, but she's got assets!

Well, that's all for now, until next time remember . . . I got Hurri-Powers . . . .Beyotch!

Stay cool.

Shane

Who knew that when he was in 3 count that he was that damned funny?

We need this here as a regular article, just like the Edgecation.

I love how he makes fun of the heels in a way that can be written of as kayfabe to the company, but smarks get the real meaning behind.

...It's not like it takes a "smark" to figure it out.

Speaking of the Edgeucation, has Edge posted a new one lately? I remember him saying in the last one he was going somewhere and wouldn't be updating for a few weeks, was wondering if he had posted a new one.

On topic, nice to see a guy having so much fun, and not being worried at all about looking like a nerd. He seems like a good guy. Shame he doesn't get on TV more often, I love the Hurricane character.

I met him today at an auto session, and he couldntve been nicer. Its nice to see someone who appreciates his fans and does stuff for them.

I like Edge and Hurricane's Updates much more then Storm's whose usually just him complaining or talking about his books or something...

I REALLY wish they'd let Helms use his real name. I sincerely doubt he would be confused with Shane McMahon. Hell, look how many Chris' there are!

Sgt. Slaughter still rules and I have to admit that was a very nice surprise for him to come out and wrestle. For him to be the Hurricane's partner, I never saw coming.
