The PS2.5 will have a hard drive (among other things). This won't mean anything for SD: HCTP, but for the next Smackdown game, it could be an added feature since they will probably both be out at the same time.

 

Of course youd have to go out and spend another $300..but whatever..

Q: Will Roddy Piper be in?

 

A: Dispite what you think, Piper will in fact be in! Mainly due to the fact for storylines, but he WILL be in the game. Think Pipers Pit people.....

 

Q: What is release date?

 

A: They say late October, but as we all know with THQ games....they get pushed back 1 or 2 weeks and ALWAYS come out the week of Nov 11 - 15th 2003. So that is my take on it, but the official word is late October.

I just hope THQ doesn't decide to throw Piper and Hogan into the Legends section. They may not be in WWE now but they were when they started making the game, so I'd prefer that 2 spaces aren't taken up by them.

 

I have a feeling the other Legends will be deceased wrestlers and Bret. (Owen, Andre, Bulldog, Pillman, Perfect, Yokozuna, and maybe Rude).

I unfortunately have not seen or heard anything about Nikoli Volkoff. I'm not sure, but he could possibly be in. I'm getting the feeling around the internet that we will *probably* be seeing both Snuka and Steamboat. This is just a rumor at this point but it is a strong one. I have not gotten confirmation on any of these three wrestlers.

Question: Does WWE have to get permission from these guys to use them in the game? I can't see the Warrior allowing them to put him in the game. WWE would have to pay them for the right, wouldn't they?

Well, there has been controversy over Warrior, and all I know is that he will *officially* be confirmed as soon as the green light is given. There are sites on the net that already have pics of his entrance, but they will not be released until THQ gives the Go-Ahead. I'm not sure whether Warrior gave his permission, but I do know, from reading an interview with one of the game developers, that WWE owns all rights to the words Ultimate Warrior, so I don't see any reason why they couldn't use his "character" without his permission.

With the fact that most of the warriors appearance comes from his faicepaint, costume, mannerisms etc, I don't see why WWE couldn't use him without his permission. But if they do, you know it aint gonna come cheap.

Yeah, but as I've said, he has *unofficially* been confirmed by mulitple people who went to London last week to the press conference and the chance to play the game. They stated that Ultimate Warrior was in fact playable and most of them took pictures. I personally will give the "official" confirmation as soon as THQ sends me the information. I'm awaiting any information at all. I'm checking all of my mail sources daily waiting for confo.
