Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I'll talk trash. I got 3 starting RB's in a 20 team league.
jimmy no nose 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I missed 4 rounds of the draft and ended up with Duce Staley as my top RB, hopefully he starts playing again soon.
LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 So, like, whos gonna trash talk. I'll Start. I have the best WRs in the league. Owens, Robinson, Kennison and Josh Reed. My RBs suck though, although Morton will give me some good return yard points. And I got Kurt Warner in the 4th Round which is either a good thing or a bad thing.. Hey, you do have great WRs, but Morton is no starting RB. I like Whalers on the Moon...they quietly came out with a quality team. Pogo has a good team as well. Those seem like the top two teams. And I think I did pretty well, considering I had the last pick. Ahman Green, Tiki Barber, and Michael Pittman for insurance.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 I need to deal off a RB due to bye-week conflicts. William Green and Travis Henry are available for trade.
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 Bah @ just remembering bout the draft just now...I'm happy with my QB(Bledsoe), K(Vin Man), Defense(Patriots) and WR's...at least two of them(Harrison and Horn). I'm interested in Henry AgentBond34.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I'm also interested in Henry
razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 a quick summary of the first round: WORST DRAFT EVER I suspect collusion as how could HHH get 2 good RBs at the last spot in the draft? Speaking of HHH noticed that he has 2 players who are in trouble with the law and have substance abuse issues. My team of the Williams Boyz and The Smiths shall run wild on the league. LaParkaMarka 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 I suspect collusion as how could HHH get 2 good RBs at the last spot in the draft? Speaking of HHH noticed that he has 2 players who are in trouble with the law and have substance abuse issues. I suspect absolutely terrible pre-draft rankings. Tampa Bay DEF and Tony Gonzales (along with a healthy bunch of QBs) all went before Green/Barber. Very odd. The funny thing is that a bunch of good RBs were still available after my picks (Corey Dillon/Jamal Lewis/Charlie Garner). Very very strange draft. And I know about Pittman, but who else has substance abuse problems? I'm thinking Pittman bribes his way out of jail or something. Besides, as HHH I have to look after those heelish types. razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 It was a joke, as for the other guy who has trouble and is suspened for 4 games for substance abuse is TE Chamberlain of the Vikings. I am not sure if it was ephridra or what but he is out for awhile. I am surprised that Clinton Portis went deep in the 1st round, also the Micheal Vick pick so early was risky and unbelievable. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Well time to scare Chad Pennington's owner. Taken from ESPN.com EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New York Jets quarterback Chad Pennington dislocated and fractured his left wrist against the New York Giants on Saturday night and is out indefinitely. Pennington was tackled from behind by Brandon Short after throwing away a pass with just under two minutes remaining in the first half and landed awkwardly on his wrist. He had X-rays at Giants Stadium, which revealed the fracture-dislocation, and was taken to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York for immediate surgery. The Jets do not know how long their starting quarterback will be out, and said Pennington's status would be determined after surgery.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Someone really wants the Redskins to win damnit. Week 1 - vs Jets Week 2 - vs Atlanta
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Even more Redskins connection? The backup on the guys team to Pennington is....Patrick Ramsey.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Damn, Pennington is out 12 weeks. they might as well just keep him out the whole year instead of rushing things for 6 weeks unless the Jets manage to keep it close..
HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 Dez White(WR) is on the Trade Block. In dire need of a good starting RB(I have Emmitt Smith and Ron Dayne as my starters with no backups...oy)
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 I think a lot of people are looking for RBs, Dawn. I don't think they are going to find them. Well time to scare Chad Pennington's owner. The Jets do not know how long their starting quarterback will be out, and said Pennington's status would be determined after surgery. You don't have to worry. He plays me in the first game. The fucking moron who drafted Michael Vick (who will not be back till Week 3 at least) and also didn't get a good second QB. So he doesn't have much to worry about. razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 25, 2003 I'm happy with my team but another starting WR would be nice to compliment Eric Moulds. I guess I will just have to just hope my team of 3rd WR/return specialist have big games and return a kickoff for a TD. I will also pray that Ricky Williams will not fumble the ball on the goal line. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Why the hell would anyone trade Chad Johnson for Pittman? I know RBs are important but come on now. From yahoo.com position battle article Tampa Bay: The Super Bowl champs' backfield won't sort out until Michael Pittman's future does. Pittman should be available for the first two games, but after that, he could be suspended or in jail. Jon Gruden doesn't want to make Mike Alstott less effective by giving him a bigger load, so Thomas Jones, the team's leading rusher this preseason, could be a factor. Forget about breaking tackles -- Jones could break some necks with his bulked-up biceps. His athletic ability has never translated in the NFL before, but his talent and a potential job opening in Tampa Bay make Jones a good sleeper pick in the later rounds. razazteca 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 I agree that is a bad trade. It gets the Veto. #1 WR for a RB that might miss some games.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 I've got a LOT of wideouts stuck behind David Boston and Rod Smith. In return, I'd like to upgrade my running backs (George and L.J.) kicker (Carney - NO) and/or defense (Philadelphia). On the block: Ike Hilliard J.J. Stokes Ed McCaffrey Deion Branch Freddie Mitchell NOTE: "Upgrade" meaning I trade that player also for a better substitute. ex: Hilliard and Eddie George to a team for Tomlinson, Williams, Dillion, Faulk, etc.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 ...sighs... My apologize if I'm not in the know right now. I've been trying to get ahold of my doctor's receptionist to get her to give the specialist I'm seeing those x-rays of my neck and to go in for an MRI. Hence, I'm not really having my head totally on what's going on lately. So I made that trade just by the look of it. Again, sorry about that. The stupid trade that is. Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Flik it's just that Pittman will probably get a suspension from the league even if he's not convicted. A couple games at least. special news for Jimmy No Nose: "Sources" say that Gonzalez will miss the first game and possibly the second due to his knee injury. anyway, I'm looking for a starting WR, and possibly an upgrade to my D (Jets). I'm also interested in Shockey/Heap if thier owners are interested. TRADING BLOCK Randle El (Steeler WR) Ferguson (Packer WR) Graham (Pats TE) Holcomb (Browns QB) Bulger (Kurt Warner's backup) Toefield (Fred Taylor's backup) Jets Defense
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Oh. Ok then. Thanks ratings. It's just I don't have a started besides Michael Bennett who's going to miss some games, so unless I get at least ONE starter, I'm still in the hole in RB. Anyways, what I'm looking for a good RB. Willing to work something out. Although, all I've got to trade is WRs. As I don't have much else.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 I would be willing to trade any of my WR other than Owens, but I want a decent RB in rerturn so I doubt it will happen. I'll even throw in Brian Mitchell.. My guess is I'll have 4 really good WR, 1 Good RB and 2 good Kick Returners. Kick returners are gonna be as good points wise as some of the lower RBs drafted so, I dont really feel bad if I dont get another RB.
