Guest bravesfan Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Madonna - Hollywood. Seriously, do NOT question this choice, if you haven't heard this on the radio - just be thankful that you haven't heard it yet. I don't condone violence against women, but I hope to do some damage to whoever wrote and produced this "song". On another note, I don't get all of the Saliva hate, really. It's one thing to not like them due to general principle, but to compare them to the "lowest of the low" (Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Nick Cannon) is absurd.
Guest CanadianChick Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Get Busy by Sean Paul. Not only does the song suck, it is so very overplayed.
Guest starvenger Posted July 17, 2003 Report Posted July 17, 2003 Get Busy by Sean Paul. Not only does the song suck, it is so very overplayed. I'd guess that if you don't care for dancehall tunes that "Get Busy" gets annoying really quick. I do like the song's high "women shaking their booty" factor though. No offence, CC. Also, I guess it's to my advantage that I either a) keep my radio turned off or b) keep it tuned to the "retro 80's" station because I'd probably get sick of high rotation songs.
Guest Vyce Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Hold up - I forgot the Sean Paul song. That may definitely be the winner as far as I'm concerned. I don't think I've quite heard a song this year that has made me want to commit homicide more than that one. And that was just on the first play!
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Help me ID this song, because in my ears, it is the worst song of the decade... First, it sounds like Mark McGrath singing, and they even quote Sugr Ray (shut the door baby...) I guess the song is about 2 diudes fighting over a girl...anyone know what i am talking about?
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Who does that fucking wretched "I wanna get lost in your rock and roll.." fucker? I hear that godawful thing all the time at work, and it makes me fantasize about murder.
Guest kingkamala Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 The worst song of the year is Saliva's Rest in Pieces, bar none. You think with a title like Rest in Pieces it'd be at least a semi-rocking song but no they turn it into a super-sucky ballad.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 AoO- that's Uncle Cracker... it's a cover song though, I forget who does the original...
Guest cabbageboy Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 I'm gonna have to go with St. Anger personally. All the cheesy pop punk stuff and Saliva is more forgettable than outright horrible. As far as rap goes, I won't bother ranting because I don't like 90% of it anyway. Even a non rap fan such as I can tell that on "In the Club" 50 Cent has no real skills and is being carried by a memorable beat. But seriously, St. Anger is just comically bad. It sounds like Metallica was going for some kind of chaotic System of a Down style. The drums sound like Lars is bashing a frying pan. To quote my friend Chris upon hearing St. Anger on the radio: "Is Les Claypool now playing with them or something?" Not to knock on Primus, but you can imagine what a Claypool/Metallica combo would sound like.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Uncle Kracker...man. He's a whole new level of shite. I thought he'd have been culled by the government by now.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 To quote my friend Chris upon hearing St. Anger on the radio: "Is Les Claypool now playing with them or something?" Not to knock on Primus, but you can imagine what a Claypool/Metallica combo would sound like I've actually pondered that once or twice, considering that Les is the 4 stringed lord and savior of the universe, and Metallica is well...I'm tired of repeating myself. There's almost no way it could work. Les is just too good for everyone in metallica. He would completely shit all over Hammett's solos with his own, his low end would take a percussive role and show Lars up, not to mention that Hetfield played on Antipop, and, surprise surprise, added absolutely nothing to the track at all. Plus, there wouldn't be Primus, and that's not a world any of us should have to live in.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 AoO- that's Uncle Cracker... it's a cover song though, I forget who does the original... Dobie Gray did the original version of "Drift Away." He was a slightly chubby black man with awesome poofy hair, if I remember my VH1 right.
Guest Greg Valentine Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 Not totally sure if this came out this year, but Madonna's theme to Die Another Day was one of the worst songs I have ever heard period. And I totally second everyone who mentioned Good Charlotte, Avril Lavigne, Sum 41, and any of the like "Punk" bands out there.
Guest Choken One Posted July 19, 2003 Report Posted July 19, 2003 I kinda like the Uncle Kracker song to tell the truth...It can't be the worst because it's a cover...
Guest JebusNassedar Posted July 20, 2003 Report Posted July 20, 2003 "Lyric" by Zwan. Billy Corgan shouldn't ever smile again. Ever-ever-ever. This is the kinda crap that he turns out when he's happy. I cannot believe that I bought this CD... Someone go kick his dog for me. Close second would be "Swing Swing" by All American Rejects. Oh well, at least they admit they suck many forms of hindquarter. Uhh....third would probably be the entire OK GO album. But that was last year, in all technicality. "Zephyr Song"'s pretty bad... OH!! And "Boom" by System of a Down. Jesus that song sucks.
Guest Choken One Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Well the band sucks too...Yeah U heard me u fucking Marks... SYSTEM OF A DOWN...SUCKS.
Guest saturnmark4life Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 The first album is bloody good. They've not held my attention much since then, but I don't see why they suddenly 'suck'.
