Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 24, 2003 The clock is ticking away toward Vengeance, which is this Sunday, live on pay-per-view from the Pepsi Center in Denver! In fact, the last stop before Vengeance is tonight's episode of SmackDown!, airing at 8 p.m./7 CT on UPN from the Selland Arena in Fresno, Calif.! Appropriately, tonight's SmackDown! will have a pay-per-view quality main event, as Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar & Zach Gowen team to take on the Big Show & The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin & Charlie Haas). That means that all three members of Sunday's Triple Threat WWE Championship (Lesnar, Angle, Show) will be in the same ring at the same time! Benjamin & Haas, meanwhile, will defend the WWE Tag Team Championship this Sunday against Rey Mysterio & Billy Kidman, who battle Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore on SmackDown! Will this be a tune-up for Mysterio & Kidman? Or can Hardy & Moore pull it off, setting themselves up for a title shot in the near future? Will the APA invite anyone else to participate in their Vengeance barroom brawl? Perhaps we'll find out tonight, when Bradshaw and Faarooq are scheduled to take on Johnny Stamboli & Chuck Palumbo of the FBI in tag team competition. Jamie Noble has offered Torrie Wilson $25,000 to spend the night with him. Thus far, Torrie hasn't accepted, but you never know what might happen tonight, when Noble goes one on one with Billy Gunn, accompanied by the Playboy cover girl. Will any more matches be announced for Vengeance? What else is going to happen? Find out tonight (8/7 CT on UPN) on SmackDown!
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 24, 2003 it's a shame that the Spoiler Thread with NO actual spoilers will get TWICE the pages as the actual show will. If SMD was live would it get the same or more as Raw does (25-35)?
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 24, 2003 The following matches have been taped for SD! tonight: - Rey Mysterio & Kidman vs. Matt Hardy & Shannon Moore - Billy Gunn vs. Jamie Noble - Eddie Guerrero vs. Rhyno - The APA vs. Johnny Stamboli & Chuck Palumbo - The Big Show, Shelton Benjamin, & Charlie Haas vs. Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, & Zach Gowen Choken: Probably a bit less. There would be plenty of discussing and praise for good matches, but less bitching, so less pages over all.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 24, 2003 And Raw's Stupidity is more fun then Smackdown Stupidity. Yeah. Raw stupidity: lighting JR's ass on fire, stupid pushes, stupid skits, Kane giving Linda the 69 Driver. SD stupidity: Gunn getting pushed, Gowan in an angle with McMahon, Sable/Stephanie angle. EL DANDY~! 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2003 SmackDown! has Eddie F'N Guerrero to make me enjoy wrestling for at least 10 minutes each week. SD! wins by default...
Guest Choken One Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Raw has Jericho for 25 minutes...
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Three potentially good matches, one decent, and one bad. Should be an alright show.
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Raw has Jericho for 25 minutes... Choken makes a good point, but I'll still take my Eddie whenever possible.
Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 24, 2003 When Eddy has 10 minutes on SD against a good worker, it's usually better than that match Jericho had on Raw. Advantage: SD. The main event tonight should be great, despite the presence of Gowan and Show. And even though Gunn sucks, at least he's not Nathan Jones.
Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted July 24, 2003 So any suspect Hogan to return on Sunday and turn on Zach Gowen..... I thought not.... *SWERVE*

Guest FileCabinet Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Raw has Jericho for 25 minutes... ...against Shawn Michaels, whose no-selling makes 10 - 15 minutes of working on his back pointless. So, I guess Raw and SmackDown are...tied?

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 24, 2003 That wasn't humorous or needed at all. *Nails Boo Bradley* Now then, I'm wondering if I should break away from my five weeks of not watching WWE. What do you, the WWE folder say? Should I continue on my streak, or break it?

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 24, 2003 It's not like anything eventful is happening tonight. Hey. The crowd turns on Benoit when he confronts Eddie. I'd say that's significant. Enough to warrant a watch though? ...eh, that's a tough one.

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Well Fuck you then....I'll watch by my lonesome. Hey. I'm moving tomorrow buddy. I need to get that key for the new place otherwise I'll have NO PLACE TO LIVE. *To Choken One: * If I have no place to live, then how will I be able to watch TV? Let alone SD? Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Not compared to a lot of the other stuff you missed (HARDY vs. BENOIT). *sighs* I heard of it's greatness... Sadly I'll not get to see it. All I saw were those pics of Matt and damn, does that give an impression of how good of a match I missed.

Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted July 24, 2003 it wasn't THAT special...People love it cuz Matt busted. It was a fucking hot match that defined what the US Title should be about. For me, seeing two men go at it like that in a semifinal match for a title that doesn't even exsist yet really makes the goal seem like a very big deal. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted July 24, 2003 Matt/Benoit was a very good match. It wasn't a 10+ minute classic, but for a TV match it was excellent, and Matt juicing certainly didn't hurt. May we get this pinned, please? The show will be on soon.
