Guest DonWestMark03 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 I have seen a bunch of promos for the CC Roast of Dennis Leary, and this looks like it is going to be one of the funniest roast's. What do you think?
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 They're roasting me and I have to do my own promos? The fuck? Michael J. Fox is a roaster, so this one should be good. No getting Vanilla Ice and the rest of the C-Lists to sit in like they did for Rob Reiner.
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Sunday August 10th, 10:00 PM (it was taped a few days ago)
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 What I hate about the comedy central roasts is that people get up there and do jokes about everybody, but the person they're roasting. I remember one guy, I forget for who it was, but did like a whole set on Bea Arthur. If you can't do five minutes insulting the roastee, you don't deserve to be on the show.

Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 See, that's total bullshit. You are there to make fun of the guy getting roasted, not anyone else. No matter how funny you are, you are simply taking the easy way out and not staying true to the spirit of the roast.
SpikeFayeJettEdBebop Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 I agree with Deacon about that.If your not Roasting the Roastee then save the jokes on other people for OTHER places.
Guest Kingpk Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Know what the best part of this is? Friday Night Standup - all Leary, all night. SWEET! CC will air the first two Comics Come Home specials (the good ones with the Baahstin caamics), and two Leary specials (No Cure for Cancer and another one) I will be checking the roast out, also.
Guest The Amazing Rando Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 i'm psyched because CHRISTOPHER WALKEN could be a roaster

Guest bravesfan Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 EDIT: Nevermind. I thought it was the Drew Carey roast.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 Has anybody seen that promo for the Roast where Leary is talking about the rosters... "Michael J. Fox...ahh he's faking." Funny shit there!
Guest Nevermortal Posted August 4, 2003 Report Posted August 4, 2003 They're roasting me and I have to do my own promos? The fuck? Michael J. Fox is a roaster, so this one should be good. Great, so we get to pity Michael J. Fox some more. Now don't get me wrong, I feel bad for the guy, my uncle has Parkinson's, but there's NO NEED for this guy to be in that type of environment. He's painful to watch now, sorta like Christopher Reeve. Let the guy be.
Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620 Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 This has been a pretty good Raost so far.
Guest Eagan469 Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 SHIT - I forgot about it Hooray, it's 2 hours long!
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Dane Cook rules. Just saying....
bob_barron Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Did any of the roasters aside from Dr. Dre and Ed Lover roast Denis Leary? This has been alright but very dissapointing
the max Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Most of them did, Bob. The song by that girl was fucking ghey, but otherwise it's been funny. Dane Cook's suggestion for Kiefer was dead on.
bob_barron Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Wow- Denis Leary is turning everyone into his bitch
Guest HBK16 Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I have about 2 hours to go for this. I have been very eager this whole week. I cant wait to watch it

razazteca Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Colin Quinn was off tonight. When was he ever on?
the max Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 They seemed to be roasting the other comedians- it was pissing me off. Colin Quinn was off tonight. And too many people were nice too him. They always roast the other comedians. They do it on all the other roasts.
bob_barron Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 His show on NBC was funny while it lasted. He also has a funny routine. I was hoping Gilbert Gottfried would do a routine

razazteca Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I think the only time I found Collin Quinn funny was when he did that "When are going to get that beer" bit on Weekend Update.

I don't think a half hour of doing the same tired jokes to the guy would be more entertaining than this tonight. I think that them roasting some of the other guys was funnier than most of their roasts of Leary. And Jim Breuer has his moments. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them.
