The O.C.

Recommended Posts

I watched the marathon of the show on FX. I have to say that all the Summer/Seth stuff is highly interesting, BUT nothing else is holding my attention.

It's probably better than 90210, but it's not touching Dawson's Creek at this point. While Seth is a fun to cheer for loser, he's not even approaching early Pacey. None of the characteres are Joey Potter interesting, and their isn't even a character you can love to hate like 'Dawson'.

I'm happy that you are all happy with the show though. Run of the mill at it's best.

That's what I'm sayin'. Not that I need to see any of them (have them all on tape) but I have a few friends who are starting to get into it, and given our schedules, I haven't been able to pass the tapes on. Was it a one shot, or have they replayed them more than once?

Oh yes, tonight should be good.

The kids go back to school, Seth tries making Summer jealous, Sandy is offered a case against his father in law, and THE KISS~! is set to happen~!

My tape is already set.

I don't watch this show at all, but I see previews for it all the time. They have been talking about how this kiss has been building up all summer.

Are they 'jumping the shark' with this kiss?

There is no way in hell the kiss would be "jumping the shark". Plus, even if they DO "get together" tonight, we still have Julie Cooper and Luke to play obstacles for Ryan and Marissa. There is no way the show is going to go downhill because they finally hook up.

Before the new episodes started up again, FX had a marathon of all the past 7 episodes.

I watched the episode last night and I can say that it is a great episode. Skin jumped the shark with the R&J story on the first episode, OC wont.

Yeah, I watch Mondays at 9 pm on CTV here in Canada.

I get my OC fix before you guys! In yo face!

(Finally something to replace RAW is CRAP...well the first hour at least...and I still tape it though!)

Good Show, although it wasn't the usual stuff with Seth as I don't know what to make of mr "Don Juan".

Maybe they jumped the gun for the kiss but Ryan hyperventilating on the wheel was great...and Marisa going "Let me help you"

"Um we're 50 feet in the air..What are..." and boom the kiss.

And I loved the staredown with Luke and Ryan at the end when Ryan pretty much goes fuck you with that look as they stare at Marissa.

It was nice to have an episode without Marissa's mom. So next week she's obviously going to figure in big.

Sandy getting firm with Ryan about the soccer trouble was a nice touch.

I don't think they jumped the gun with the kiss. Now if they had ended up in bed.....

Summer continues to own all...

Great episode. Sandy again proves why he is the King of Kings on this show.

(Cohen family having breakfast)

Kirsten: "I told him he looks rad."

Sandy: "He does look rad. Mad props, son!"

I loved the whole ferris wheel deal, and the staredown with Luke at the end. It was as if Luke knew he fucked up, and had no choice but to let someone better get to Marissa.

Good man, OSW.

I'm interested to see where the Anna/Seth/Summer storyline goes, especially with Anna hiding her feelings for him.

Oh and this was the second week I was impressed with the Ryan/Sandy interaction. Sandy's fatherly reactions to him, especially when he said he'd love to see him play soccer, was great. Goes to show that instead of doing the "kid from the wrong side of the tracks moves on to better life and everything is OK", they're doing a good build with Ryan's transition, both into the society and into the Cohen family.

eventully they will have to, it's only inevitable but it's too early right now...Seth likely seems oblivous to Ryan taking Sandy's affection right now.

I really can't figure out the summer seth relationship and that's a good thing.

I hope they don't jump it and make them a couple until a while...

The Seth/Summer thing could go so many ways.

Seth could grow to like Anna the way she wants him to as they are spending time together.

Seth could get with Summer, feel "cool", shun Anna, regret it, and go back to her.

Seth could go with Summer, and Summer could stop caring about what everyone thinks.

You really can't tell which way they want it to go. Also, five bucks says Seth tries using Ryan and Marissa's new relationship to gain their aid in hooking him up with Summer.

I can also see Seth and Ryan arguing because Ryan got the girl he wanted, while Seth can't/didn't.

That's what I love about the show. Just when you think you can tell what's going on, the plot twists.

There's no way around it. Shows like The O.C. Someone always has to die in the first or second season to shake things up. But who shall they kill off?

But who shall they kill off?

Although everyone might say Marissa's mom, I'd have to say her dad. I like Jimmy but he is expendable. Him dying would force Marissa to live with her mom, causing a seasons worth of drama, and making things hard between Ryan and Marissa. But I think this show can hold off on death for a couple seasons.

Maybe Luke? He dies and Marissa pulls away from Ryan.

BTW, they never did explain WHY Summer had her "mothers" pain killers in the episode Marissa OD'ed.

Summer said her stepmom was out of painkillers, for whatever reason. The reason she got them in Tiajuana was because "you don't even need a perscription" (that was the line she gave during the episode).

As far as someone dying, I doubt highly that Jimmy would die off. While it makes for a good story, I think there is still something brewing with his bachelorhood and the kiss he had with Kirsten.

Luke I get the feeling is going to be a thorn in Ryan's side, both as a competitive rival on the soccer field and with Marissa.

Speaking of Summer, I noticed today that a girl in my Developmental Psych bears a resemblance, just with light brown hair. If I wasn't already gunning for the HGC (you guys know who I mean, the girl whose pic I put in the "Would You" thread some time ago), I'd hit it.

I was bored last week and watched an episode of the O.C, i saw the previews and had thought the show was going to be trash but i found i really liked it. I downloaded the first 8 episodes and watched them all this weekend, this show is now my fav non comedy show, Seth is funny, summer is hot, the parents are funny and the storylines are very decent, a good bulid with the ryan storyline....episode 8 is my fav, I will now watch this show every week, it has replaced smallville as my drama
