OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Besides, Sandy's sort of becoming the epitome of "nice guy" on the show (albeit with a little edge), so for him to get angry over one dance would have been out of character. I could have seen him saying something in half-jest, but that's it. Also, I liked the scene with Summer and Anna not accepting Seth's gifts, and was personally entertained by all three. But yeah, he DOES need to choose, because if this drags on too long it's going to get grating, I think. Sandy was heartbroken last week. There is no way he would have let it just go. And as hurt as she saw he was just a week ago, why would she dance with Jimmy. And Jimmy knew that he had blown it by telling Sandy. Wouldn't either of them felt uncomfortable, even though it was just a dance? And Seth did choose. He choose neither.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 But the Seth/Anna/Summer likely isn't over. The way I saw it is that Seth tried to take the easy way out, but it didn't solve anything and he still has to choose. He wanted to be friends and they said no, so I'd be surprised if the Seth must choose story is over.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I think with that new guy looking to come in they are going to ignore him and he's going to try and get with both and then they'll turn him down. Sometime before the end of the season one of them will get with him, but he won't have to really choose.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Yeah, I didn't mean he'd be doing another "I chose you" scene. I just meant that he'll still have to choose which one he wants.
Guest Choken One Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I think with that new guy looking to come in they are going to ignore him and he's going to try and get with both and then they'll turn him down. Sometime before the end of the season one of them will get with him, but he won't have to really choose. I have a feeling he'll either A) Play the David Silver of the Show... B) Drive a wedge between Ryan and Marissa since clearly they have something deeper in common.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I'd have to say B. He seemed really smoothe and I think he can get Marissa to fall for him since they both have mental issues. Ryan on the other hand has a tough time dealing with his emotions and needs something he can't give her right now.
Zack Malibu Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I only saw the last half last night, so I have to watch my tape tonight to catch up. All I have to say is that I called the Seth thing, but I still think he's going to be forced to make a decision down the line. This cannot possibly be the end to that situation. That kid at the psychiatrist has already pissed me off, just by looking like a dick. Ryan's gonna knock him the fuck out soon, I can feel it. The next show (in 2 weeks, I think, right?) with Kirsten's sister coming and Ryan having to say I love you looks like a good one for sure.
mw679 Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 Yeah, I loved the part of the preview for 2 weeks, when Marissa is like "I love you" and Ryan's, like, "Uh, Thank You?" with the confused look on his face. This show kicks too much ass.
Cuban Linx Posted December 5, 2003 Report Posted December 5, 2003 The show just debuted in Australia last night with the first two episodes and i definately liked it, i can see myself becoming a big fan of the show.
Zack Malibu Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Finally watched it last night, and it was a great episode. Marissa's self-destruction is a good angle to the show, rather than giving her and Ryan the perfect relationship. It's showing that his transition isn't going to get any easier, and Sandy telling him he didn't need to take responsibility for everybody was a nice touch. Seth's Chrismukkah talk stole the show. "Jesus and Moses=The Superteam" or whatever he was rambling on at the end of the show was hysterical. I admit it, I pulled an "awww" at the end when Ryan hung his stocking and was shown on the Cohen family Christmas card. The next ep looks great. Why does Kirsten's sister look so familiar to me?
Guest Crux Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Rachel Bilson (Summer), Adam Brody (Seth), Mischa Barton (Marissa) and Benjamin McKenzie (Ryan) will be on the cover of Dec. 8th's Entertainment Weekly.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I found this in my Sunday newspaper entertainment section: Besides his bit parts in commercials and daytime dramas, he had played Barry Williams (Greg Brady) in the 2000 Tv movie "Growing Up Brady". Some critics actually thought he was too good-looking to play the nerdy son in "The O.C.", but Brody's talent outshone even his handsome face.
Zack Malibu Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I think he had a bit part in American Pie 2 as well, as one of the kids who cracked on Stifler for Finch fucking his mom.
haVoc Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 No O.C. this week is going to really suck! What else is on Wednesday nights? BTW, I found this site on the O.C. It has some info on the cast, pictures, previews, etc. It also has a spoiler link but do yourself a favor and advoid it. Don't ruin the show for yourself. I did that for the Luke's father episode and hated myself for it afterwards. http://www.the-oc.org/main.html
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 No O.C. this week is going to really suck! What else is on Wednesday nights? You'll have to choose between The Billboard Music Awards and Ryan and Trista's Wedding.
haVoc Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 I'm never home at that time anyway. I always record the shows then watch them when I get home from work. Billboard awards sounds perfect to record. Fast forward through most, if not all the crap. Just like wrestling.

It's good shit.
pappajacks Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Why isn't there OC in Canada tonight?
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 I think he had a bit part in American Pie 2 as well, as one of the kids who cracked on Stifler for Finch fucking his mom. Yes, I remember that. He also had a teeny weeny part in The Ring.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Why isn't there OC in Canada tonight? They are not showing an episode this week because they are showing the Billboard Music Awards on Wednesday.
Guest belgarion Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 Didn't bother with it. It got ripped to shreds by Tom Shales, and there was a good Homicide rerun on TNT. it may have got ripped up but the show is decent it's a more rich dawson creek with a hint of 90210 thrown in the mix i think i watch it sometimes but not as much as i can
pappajacks Posted December 11, 2003 Report Posted December 11, 2003 There is an interview and nice pics of Summer in Stuff magazine. After reading her comments, it seems like she is playing her real self on the show. Very stuck up.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Preview for tonight: It's sure to be a New Year's Eve to remember as Kirsten's rebellious sister Hailey comes to town and Ryan races the clock to share a midnight kiss with Marissa.
haVoc Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I missed this show last week. This isn't the last of the season is it?
BlackFlagg Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I missed this show last week. This isn't the last of the season is it? Wasn't on last week hence the lack of talk in this thread
haVoc Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I missed this show last week, hence, I missed this show not being on last week.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 After tonight's show, they won't be on until January 21st. I think I said a while back that there would be 3 shows at that time to close out the season but the website I go to until put that many because that is all they had. I read an E! online report that says Fox ordered a total of 27 when they picked up the option on the series which means they can probably last through spring like other shows, despite starting their season early. Very good news.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Yes! My beloved Summer returns tonight. Summer > 2003 Billboard Music Awards.
haVoc Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I heard some stuff on the O.C. today matter of fact. I can't say the one because it might be a spoiler but the other kind of surprised me. I guess the producers of the show didn't consider Summer's character as a regular, but they desided to make her regular and keep her on for next season. Hasn't she been on every episode since the beginning?
The Mandarin Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 It would have been great if Ryan didn't make it in time because he thought the door was pull instead of push. "Damnit! NO! NO! OPEN!"
