Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 She was going to move to Atlanta to stay with a cousin of hers, but didn't have the money to get there. I don't think the kid is Ryan's. Kind of ruins his whole "second chance" if he's going to have to become a father. I think there will be more to this baby thing than what we'd expect. Jimmy decking Caleb was a markout moment for sure. About time the old man got his. I was waiting for Angry Trucker Hat guy to wind up being an undercover cop or something and busting up the card game. Good episode. I love The Vegas.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Wow, what a way to end the season....can't wait to see how they pick things up for season 2.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Damn it, damn it, damn it, damn it. This is what I hate about TV... Summer breaks... THEY SUCK. I'm still not convinced with Ryan being the father. This is just Theresa's way of keeping them together. BTW, What the hell is this new show, North Shore ?
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 I don't know, but I'll give North Shore a shot. Seems right up my alley. LOVED the finale, especially all the nice touches at the end that were seemingly "rewinding" Ryan's arrival in Chino. Stress of everything finally gets to Kirsten and she breaks down, Marissa falls off the wagon, Seth feels jaded...all great touches that shows just how much this outsider means to all these people. I get that Ryan is trying to do the right thing because it could be his and that he doesn't trust Eddie being with Theresa, and it would have been too much of a happy ending to the season if she stayed in Newport to have the baby. Can't wait for season 2, because everything they've set up (Ryan's departure/imminent return, the baby storyline, Caleb possibly going broke and/or to jail, whatever Seth is doing on his boat this summer) will start it off with a bang. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Interesting. On the North Shore page on TVTome, it lists Navi Rawat (Theresa) as a star!?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 6, 2004 BTW, What the hell is this new show, North Shore ? It means Fox looked at the success of The OC and concluded "hot rich teens and their daily drama = ratings again".
haVoc 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 I was a little disappointed. I guess I just expected more. Was hoping for a shocking cliff hanger.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 6, 2004 It may not be shocking, but it's definately a cliffhanger.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Another comparison…Pacey and Seth both have boats. Kinda of a bummer ending to the season.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 That was a helluva season wasn't it? I can't remember ever saying that an episode was just ok. And it was such a long season I felt like we watched a whole damn series. I liked the ending. I really like when a show ends with music accompanying the final scenes. It lets the scenes speak for themselves. It was also one of the first times in a long time where Ryan didn't annoy me. A very well written episode.
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2004 Saw tihs posted on another board, no idea where he got it from or how valid it is....kinda-possibly spoilers-maybe Its been reported that Ryan will no longer be a focal character on the OC, as the show will now focus on the relationships between the Coopers, the Nichols and the Cohens. It has even been rumoured that due to the various "diva fits" that Benjamin McKenzie has thrown during his tenure on the show, and due to his general bad attitude, that his character will be written off completely, save for the occasional guest spot. Dr. Zoidberg 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2004 If that's true, I'll be kinda sad and Happy at the same time. I never really was a big fan of the Ryan character, but I also liked seeing him and Marissa's relationship. Well, just as long as it was Benny Mac throwing tantrums and not Mischa Barton, I'm happy. I don't want my girl to have a black eye on her name.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Im watching the 1st episode now (the pilot episode really, dont know if its the 1st or not) and the stuff they do is amazing. 1) Seth mentions wanting to sail to Tahiti in July. What does he do on the last episode? Sail somewhere in the middle of summer. 2) The series starts off with Jimmy's financial problems and you can see the problems in his face. But one thing they do change is the music. The show started off hip (opening scene played some Jay-Z song; when they arrive at Holly's party they are playing In Da Club) but now all of the songs are rock or metal or something. But I hope they dont take Ryan off the show, the show pretty much revolved around him. Unless they bring in the cousin from Boston (mentioned this in the 1st episode) they need that 2nd male character for Seth to feed off of.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Something else... At the end of the first show, when Ryan went back to Chino, Marissa is standing at her mailbox and her and Ryan look at each other from the driveway and inside of the car. And what do they do at the end of the last episode? The same thing.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 The part about Marissa standing in the drive way I remembered. But the part about Seth talking about sailing to Tahiti is pure gold.
Guest reekspeak Report post Posted June 2, 2004 Last Sunday was the season finale here in the UK... thing is, the "season finale" was episode 14.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2004 14? There were 27 episodes. That's gotta hurt.....
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 4, 2004 Something else I noticed. On the first episode, Seth is at a party and walks into the bathroom and goes "WHOA! I should really learn to knock, in case theres a 3 some going on the in bathroom." On the New Years Eve episode (episode 15 I think, 14 or 15) Sandy comes home after Hailey's party and goes "WHOA! I should really learn to knock.....in case there is a 3 some going on in my bedroom."
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2004 Anyone see the bullshit OC knockoff on the WB with Aunt Becky Tanner as "teens and adults" cope with each other? "Summertime" or something. I miss the OC. Wednesdays aren't the same.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2004 Ahahah, he said Aunt Becky Tanner. Its Casopolis or whatever, but thats still funny.

syxx2001 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 I just read something that blew my mind. Navi Rawat replaced by O.C. co-star Eonline's Kristin reported yesterday that Amanda Righetti has replaced Navi Rawat. Speculation is that Navi will be part of the OC spin-off. Amanda Righetti stars in The O.C. as Hailey Nichol, while Navi Rawat has also starred in several episodes of The O.C. as Teresa. But FOX or the crew of The North Shore have yet to of confirmed this news. Now, with the talk of Benjy being kicked off the show because his attitude, this could be why and not because of his attitude. Will they have a show with Teresa and Ryan in Chino and the rest of the crew in The O.C.? And notice it says "the O.C. spinoff" not "a O.C. spinoff". MORE NEWS Variety is reporting that a spinoff of FOX's sucessful new drama The OC may be coming soon. They are supposedly in negotions with OC creator Josh Schwartz right now. No details on the storyline have been released yet although there are rumors that the series will center around Seth's sailboat adventures... Fox is basking in the success of The O.C.--and is looking to extend its moment in the sun. Show creator Josh Schwartz is reportedly close to signing with the network to develop a companion series to the teen-friendly, beach-livin' drama, which just wrapped up its first season. -- They are not talking about North Shore, although they say North Shore is to The O.C. was Melrose Place was to BH 90210. However, while The O.C. can be considered a Beverly Hills, 90210 for the next generation, the new series is apparently intended to be more Melrose Place-esque--i.e., targeted at a slightly older demographic. That probably means the new show isn't The Valley, the show-within-a-show featured prominently on The O.C. which (apparently) stars Colin Hanks and Paris Hilton. -- Can they do that? Create a show that was mentioned on a show? 05/10 - Welcome to The O.C. spinoff, bitch! Fox is in talks with O.C. creator Josh Schwartz to develop an hourlong companion to his freshman hit, Variety reports. Although details are being kept hush-hush, rumor has it the project may chronicle Seth's harrowing trek from Newport Beach to Santa Monica in that cardboard dinghy. Exslade ZX 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Hmmm...I belive in a way that's good news, because more OC. But also, I think they may kill the show, and it will be their own fault. I mean the shows great as has been proven by the ratings, but damn, if you just cut the show up into like 3 or 4 shows all centering around the characters? That's just odd..and would become 'a hassle' if that's the correct way to put it. Eonline's Kristin reported yesterday that Amanda Righetti has replaced Navi Rawat. This news is awesome though , that chick is definitly the hottest one on the show. I belive Hailey is the younger sis right? If so I would love to watch a show centered around her.
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Report post Posted June 11, 2004 Wait... Benjamin is getting kicked off the show? Where did that come from? Source? An O.C. spinoff revolving around Seth's Sailboat adventures? NO, NO, NO. JUST SAY NO...

Guest The Shadow Behind You Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I have also been waiting forever for the return of this show. I haven't brought the DVD set yet though.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2004 I've been watching the DVD's out of order, just watching eps with some favorite moments first. The first eps I went to were the Oliver ones, because watching Ryan deck that smarmy fuck was such the markout moment. Last night I watched the one where Anna left, which was a great ep with a sad ending. Also, picked up The OC Mix 2 this week, and found out that Mix 3 (which should be out anytime) is a "Chrismukkah" mix of holiday music by alt rock bands. Yogalattes.
