Guest Ripper Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 You have got to be kidding me. Ralphie May ate Dat Fan alive on the last show last night, and DAT FUCKING FAN won. WTF??? Really. WHAT THE HELL??? Did anyone else watch this show...did anyone else share my rage...anyone...any..anyone.?
Guest jimmy no nose Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I don't know I thought Dat Fan was the better comic. I don't understand why everyone hated him. I thought each time he beat someone it was a clear victory.
Guest Ripper Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I don't know I thought Dat Fan was the better comic. I don't understand why everyone hated him. I thought each time he beat someone it was a clear victory. Oh, yeah he beat Dave and unfunny black guy. But Ralphie murdered him last night. He had that place roaring...Hell, he made me laugh out loud and thats hard to do.
Guest TUS_02 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I don't know I thought Dat Fan was the better comic. I don't understand why everyone hated him. I thought each time he beat someone it was a clear victory. He uses an old, cliched stereotype in EVERY SET HE HAS. Sure, going off on a 45 second tangent on making fun of his mom would be fine... BUT all he does is speak funny. Ralphie kinda does the same thing... neither really stretched their imagination to make me laugh. Dave made me laugh... Vos made me laugh, Cahaney made me laugh... not Ralphie, NOT DAT.
Guest Ripper Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Ralphie's "skinney girl" rant didn't have you laughing last night? It got me.
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 The fat guy won -- I never watched the show but from the teasers he did make me laugh just by looking at him...
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Dat Phan deserved to win. Ralphie is nothing you can't find on ComicView or Def Comedy Jam. Dat's rant about people asking him about martial Arts while he was peeing was fantastic. Wonder what Dave Mordall thought.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I never thought Dat Phan was funny ... in fact, a lot of the people that made me laugh on the first few shows didn't even make it to the house. And the ones that DID make it to the house that I liked got eliminated before the end (e.g. Dave and Rich Vos)
Guest starvenger Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Finally an Asian wins a reality show!!! Um, Dorothy Hui won the Mole 2, and last I checked, she was Asian.
Guest Choken One Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 No one was watching BB2. I'm pissed...dat and Ralph weren't that great but Dave was a great intelligent comic...
Guest starvenger Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 No one was watching BB2. Yeah, neither was I, but I was talking about The Mole.
Guest Choken One Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Whoops...I liked Mis-read that line SEVERELY. I saw that fucking promo for the damn show just before I typed that... Yeah...Mole 2 ruled.
Guest Ripper Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Rich Vos was definately the funniest guy when not on stage. He made the show if you ask me. That and Tess laughing hysterically at everything that was funny.
Guest Ghettoman Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I was incredibly sad last night. The last two comics there were the two with the most stereotyped routines. Ralphie your token fat guy, Dat your token asian guy. Kind of depressing to know comedy is no where near getting past routines that are just gross stereotypes for the sake of funny. Dat is too scientific, he uses a lot of the same jokes simply because they got laughs last time and that doesn't make a good comic especially when your over doing it. I heard the Karate Urinal joke three times, and didn't even see about half of the season. I wanted to see Vos win so him and Dave could have a show together, but when you think about it he was just as good if not better than the last two, and he had more star quality so to speak, a much sharper wit than both. I wish it was one of those shows where it's not up to America, which just depresses me even more when I think about it....

The thing about Ralphie that I liked is that he didn't just use "Hey, I'm fat...laugh at me!!!" as his routine. he would go in totally different directions.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I only watched one episode, when that uber-ugly chick with the spiked hair was booted...and she sucked, so bye bye. Rich Vos I've seen on Tough Crowd a couple times (not as much as Greg Gshasidbaib, whose last name I always forget, but he's ALWAYS on), and he's hilarious there. Vos deserves more, dammit!
Guest Star Ocean 3 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I think Rich and Dave were the funniest out of the ten. Dat could conceivably be funny, not enough to deserve victory, but Ralphie blew. His war and gasoline rant wasn't even remotely humorous, and I despised his skinny/fat rant, not because it was too preachy, but because he really didn't get it, or know what he was talking about. At least I got to see him fall down the stairs on Kimmel, though.
Guest Kingpk Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Ralphie started off pretty good, but his last two performances were kind of ranty. Dat wasn't that great either. The stuff between Mordal and Vos was classic. "Rich's Special Friend" . I definitely would watch those two over Dat.
Guest The Fett Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Dat's funny, but I can see how people can get annoyed by him. The comics really have noone to blame but themselves for Dat beating them. All season long, they were like a lynch mob ganging up on Dat. You have to figure, there were a lot of people that voted for Dat to win out of sympathy. He was the underdog that they all mocked and made fun of.
Guest shaqaustin34 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I didn't watch that show a lot, but I watched enough to know that he Dat, the asian one, did not deserve to win that show. The only reason he won and not the other poeple, was because when he first came on the show he talked about how he was poor and he didn't want to be poor any more, and all the other bull shit he talked about, so the people felt sorry for him, and plus he was the only asian one that probably contributed to him wining. Dat won because of all those reason, but he did not deserve to win, because he is not funny, I can be funnier than him. I am going to say this for the last time, and it get on my nerve to think about it, because he didn't deserve to win because he is not funny.
Astro101 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 I don't think he won because people felt sorry for him. It was just people like racial jokes for some reason.....at least the people who voted.
imajackoff? Posted August 7, 2003 Report Posted August 7, 2003 I started rooting for Dat to win the thing when the "established" comedians started to treat him like shit for only being in the biz for 2 years and having a more disciplined way of preping his material. It was a like a kick in the nuts to the rest of the comedians when they would put him on the block only to have him WIN the showdowns with Dave and Jeff. It was sort of like, "Fuck you, dont respect me. I'll just take care of business on stage." I also found it HIL-FREAKIN-LARIOUS that Tess and Vos, the two that skirted their way to the final 5 without having to face elimination while in the house, didnt make it past 3rd place. I thought the funniest one was the kid that was eliminated by Ralphie in like the 3rd week.
CanadianChris Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 That Dave Mordal got beaten by that routine was criminal. He was easily the funniest guy on the show. I definitely think "Rich Vos' special friend" is going to profit the most from this show. Of the final five, I thought Cory and Rich were the funniest (which isn't saying a whole lot, as they were all off that night). Dat was predictable, while Ralphie's set was offensive. His set on the finale was much better, and if he'd done that set the week before, he would've won easily.
CanadianChris Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 I thought the funniest one was the kid that was eliminated by Ralphie in like the 3rd week. Yeah, Bobert was pretty funny too.
Vyce Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 That HACK~! Rich Vos should have won. But at least now I'll get to hear Jimmy Norton and Patrice O'Neal relentlessly tool on him for not winning.
MillenniumMan831 Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 To echo everyone, Dave and Rich MADE the show. I missed Rich's stand up routine, but if it was half as funny as he was in the house, he got robbed. And how Dat making fun of his mom for two minutes beats Dave's bit about his 1983 Ford Escort, I'll never know.
Guest IMarkForD'Lo Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 I'm gonna have to agree with the anti-Dat folks. He got some laughs out of me, but it was ALL the same gag: Asian people are different than other people! It's funny, but it wears thin FAST. How the hell is he going to survive his own comedy special with only one idea? I thought almost all the finalists were better, except maybe Tess. Everyone else had their own brand of humor that I could really dig. I just don't think Dat stands up to them. But I'm not going to stress about it. The finalists got serious face time on TV. They'll find other things to do.
