Downhome Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 ^ I did the above offer, and then realized I hadn't officially logged in... So after I did the two offers (freebidding and psychics4free), the screen stayed at the screen where you choose the offers. Is it supposed to go to some kind of "you're getting your DVD now"? confirmation screen, or is everything set and I should get it? When i went into my account section it said nothing about it... so I guess i'm wondering if i'm actually getting my dvd! Ok, if you did the offers as described you should get the DVD. It isn't going to show up in your normal account, seeing how this is another "special" thing. In your case, I'd email customer service to be sure though. and on antoehr note, if I signed up for freebidding (for example) for this offer, could I still use freebidding to gain points??? (assuming I cancel it the first time of course) Yes, you'll be able to do the offers again to get points for them in your normal account.
bobobrazil1984 Posted August 10, 2003 Report Posted August 10, 2003 cool! Thanks muchly for this walkthrough... this like a goldmine!
the max Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 How long does it take for the credit card ones to come in? I did those last week, and I have yet to see anything from them. And I want MR SHOW....
Downhome Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 How long does it take for the credit card ones to come in? I did those last week, and I have yet to see anything from them. And I want MR SHOW.... What do you mean exactly? Are you talking about the offers where you have to sign up for credit cards? For those, you do not get the points untill after you are approved. I'd email FreeDVD4Me.com to ask about the points if you have already been approved.
the max Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I signed up for them, but have heard nothing back yet. I hope I get approved, I might actually keep one for doing this stuff. Otherwise, I'm going to have to call my bank and yell at them again. Also, each credit card is for 300 points each, and I think I signed up for 4 of them.
Nighthawk Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I've been suckered by the history book club. I signed up and they won't allow me to cancel until I fulfill the commitment and buy more of their shit. I suppose it could be worse. Maybe I'll learn something.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Anybody got any suggestions on which offers to do to get either Hunted or Cradle 2 the Grave? I went through like the first 5 of them and none of them were the cool 1 dollar free trial then cancel kind. They were all 30 dollars and if you don't like it after a month get your money back. I was gonna look again but hey, I'm posting, figured I'd ask. Anyway, AOL hasn't been easy to cancel for me. I got some jerkoff foreigner who refused to cancel my account because I had only used it for 10 minutes. Not that it's a rule that you have to use for longer than 10 minutes, this guy just personally refused to do it because he thinks if I tried it longer I'd like it. So now I gotta wait and call again and get somebody else. What's funny, is that when I called them for Tech Support a while back, they hung up on ME, I call to cancel and the asshole won't shut the hell up! At one point he was trying to find out if I was a student or had a job or whatever to try to tell me how AOL could help in those matters, but he tried to find out by asking "what are you doing right now?" I said "I'm getting annoyed on the phone." He kept saying I had it free until Sep 22 so I should keep it till then, but I'm like I'm not touching it again, so why bother? He even said he was gonna send me a email full of links to AOL features. He kept telling me I could listen to radio on AOL and watch sports games through AOL, I said, I have a radio and a TV for that. He asked if I download music, I said yeah, he goes well, that's illegal, but if you do it through AOL it's legal because you pay for AOL. Like I DON'T pay for my cable? I gave up and hung the phone up. I wish I had a old phone so I could've slammed it down. I don't think pushing the "end" button hard really does anything to show your frustration.
Nighthawk Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 Here's the four I did for this week's bonus: history book club - detailed above, don't do that one homework plus - cheap, they're closed now, I have to call and cancel tomorrow psychic realm - cheap, cancelled easily winanylotto - cheap, cancelled easy

Wow, I'm sorry to hear all of that. You must have got some fucking sucky CSRs or something, I've never had that type of problem with them. Hell, they've always been perfectly cool with me, and canceled everything in a matter of minutes. As I said before, just keep saying "I'd just like to cancel", and NOTHING else. Let them go through their little speach, and keep on saying that quote. If they keep on refusing, just say "I'd like to speak to your supervisor right NOW please" and that will take care of it for you. Let me know what ever comes from this.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 It depends on what offers you haven't done yet, let me know and I'll tell you the best ones to do if you want. All I've done so far are ones from your FAQ. I've done Official Auctions, Freebidding and the two pyschic ones. You said ones that you did for the Chicago/Two Towers deal could be done again since they weren't for points, can you redo ones for the weekly deal too?
OldSchoolWrestling Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 c) This method can only be used ONE TIME per person, and ONLY ONE DVD can be ordered using this method Does this mean if they do it again in another month we can't do it if we do it this time? Because I don't want to miss out on this but at the same time I'm not extremely high on these two movies. If they do it again later for movies I'd rather have, will I not be able to do those because of this? Also, are there any offers you can't do again because they'll have a record of you having already signed up and cancelled?
Guest Lethargic Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 I signed up for Driving4Dollars and Winanylotto today and now I have two 39.95, and one 2.95, on my debit card for some reason.
the max Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Did you cancel them right after you signed up?
OldSchoolWrestling Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Can you sign up for the same offers over and over again or do you have to do new ones every time? I aksed DH this, he said you can't under the same account, but you can sign up multiple accounts as long as the email and address are different. Email address change I can understand, but are you saying you must also have a different home address? Won't they check that when they run the credit card and won't it be declined if the address is different? Also, are signing up for different book clubs ok? If I sign up for book of the month is it ok to then sign up for history book of the month or kids book of the month and still get my points and cancel?
Guest Lethargic Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Did you cancel them right after you signed up? Yes.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Question on the aol signup. When I click the aol it will either mail me a cd or download it now. I don't want to download it. Is that the only way to complete this offer by downloading their software?
Chuck Woolery Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 I have a question. I'm, uh, a bit young to be using credit cards, are there enough credit cardless offers to make this worth my while?
Nighthawk Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Can you sign up for the same offers over and over again or do you have to do new ones every time? If I sign up for book of the month is it ok to then sign up for history book of the month or kids book of the month and still get my points and cancel? I would assume you have to use a different credit card. I've signed up two accounts using two credit cards with a different billing address and email, so that's all I know. And you can sign up for different book clubs, I've signed up for the regular and history. Just don't do the history one. They won't let you cancel.
Guest ShamRock Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Bastards. I tried the MatchMaker offer about a week ago and still haven't received my points. Today they sent me an e-mail and I forwarded to Freedvd4me.com, hopefully I'll get them.
Guest ShamRock Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 BTW, anybody care to help me with the offers?
Bruiser Chong Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 See, I'm worried about running into Lethargic's problem. I've already got that stupid Video Professor thing on the way to me cause I didn't know you couldn't cancel on the 'net. Paying 40 bucks for some psychic reading is the last thing I need this week.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Just a heads up on TrimLife. You can no longer cancel via email/online. When you try to cancel it says that due to security purposes you have to call the 800#. I called and the lady cancelled it immediately and didn't even ask why I was cancelling.
Guest ShamRock Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Anyone had trouble cancelling the Book of the Month Club? I signed up sometime on Tuesday, cancelled my order, and sent them a note about cancelling. Later, I get an e-mail saying that they don't have my name isn't in their computer and asked me about my eleven-digit account number. Since I didn't know it, I just replied, giving them my name and shipping address. Today I get an e-mail saying, if I don't receive my order within five weeks, to contact them. I was like fuck that. So, how do you cancel this bullshit?
Nighthawk Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 The eleven digit number is in the confirmation email they send when you join.
Guest ShamRock Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Well, I deleted that. Do you think I'll still receive my order since I cancelled?
Nighthawk Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Maybe, I'd say your best bet is to email them and say the number was lost, but make up something besides deleting the email, so it doesn't look like it's your fault. You should save all the emails you get in relation to this, you might need them.
Guest Lethargic Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Same thing happened to me. They can't find my account. I do have the original email they sent and there is NO account number in there. And on their site in my account it says account# pending. I emailed them again and said that somebody "else" signed up for it using my name and that I don't want it in my name and want the account cancelled before it gets approved.
Downhome Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 To make sure nothing is sent to you, just log into the account and click on ORDER up top, and just cancel it. That will cancel anything being shipped to you. You still need to email and get them to cancel the membership though.
