Triple H as world champ

Recommended Posts

Edge was limping throughout the match, and doing a damn good job of it. But I guess you wouldn't know that since you're putting your two cents in on something you don't even seem to remember.

Ah yes, he stumbled around.  Fantastic Job.

*sigh*

I distinctly remember a mix of laughter and bewilderment watching that match and Edge's horrific selling.

Jesus Christ RRR. How else was he suppose to sell the fucking leg short of not walking at all?

He could crawl...Limp like a profesional wRESTLER/Actor/Stuntman learns to do in the first week of training.

Look at Savage's way of selling. In the WM8 match agains Flair he limped through the whole thing after being "injured" and the match was still a classic.

Look up about 12 posts up when I said this was one of the great examples of selling.

HHH had a very good story match with Flair

The Match Was Ok.......Thanks To Mr.Nature Boy

a *** match with RVD that could have been really good

Thanks To RVD.He Kicked HHH's Ass The Whole Match But Lost. Thats Fucked Up. I Hate How HHH Gets His Ass Wooped In All His Matches But At The END Wins By Doing What Like His 3rd Move? PEDIGREE.HHH Rest

In His Matches,Thats An Fact.Watch His Matches And You'll See That.HHH Does A Move Like Every 4 Minutes.

At NWO 2003 He Did 2 Moves,Steiner Kicked His As*

But He Steal WON.* Shakes HEAD*.....I HATE IT!

I HATE HHH

If RVD had any idea how to sell a leg injury

If HHH Wrestled The Match Like RVD,IT Would Of Been A Better Match.

he is still the last person in the WWE to have a ***** match. (Summerslam last year)

Says Who? You?

Besides that, he has acting ability

Every WWE Wrestler Does.

and can cut a real promo

More Like "Boring".

that's not completely reliant on catchphrases.

" I Call The Shots"

"Evolution Has Just Passed You Buy"

"I Am The World Heavy Weight Champion,I Am The Diamond,Theres Only 1 Diamond In This Industry And

Thats Me"

You Dont Call That CatchPhrases? He Says The Same Thing EveryWeek.

"Im The Best,No 1 Can Stop Me,etc' Yall Know.

Booker T has boring, slow, pointless matches every night.

HHH=BORING

And U Think HHH Matches Are Fast? LMAO.....Y

What You Mean By Pointless? Matches With No

Build UP?

Do you think Booker T even knows what ring psychology is?

Do You Think HHH Knows What Entertaining Is?

Yeah.....that's the whole reason I brought it up again.

Remember....I agreed with you then too.

But he stumbled around like a drunk-man. Quite frankly, if his leg is as bad as it was being sold as, he SHOULDN'T have been able to walk, let alone climb to the top rope, let alone do it 3 times, let alone hit Edge-o-cutions, flapjacks, backdrops, overhead suplexes, angleslams. When Edge "reversed" the angle slam he should have just collapsed. He shouldn't be able to _run_ let alone hit spears. This is the purpose of selling. To not only 'show' the audience that you're hurt, but to *show* the audience that you're hurt so they could become more emotionally involved and invested in your match.

Just to clarify something, I never said Booker T wasn't over. I said that people sleep through his matches until the last two minutes because nothing happens. He still gets a pop for his signature moves and catchphrases.

likely because you brought it up or someone said HHH can't sell and that brought us to this convulted arguement...

Let's talk about something good

What was the BEST part of the Flair/Savage WM8 match for you?

And what moves would have he done if he couldn't use his legs, knowing what Edge's moveset is? Because if he can't use his legs, frankly, the match will suck.

Which is RVD's problem in a nutshell. He doesn't have backup moves to go to when his leg is hurt.

People should really start adjusting to RVD instead of having them adjust to him. The announcers can play it off as wrestlers adjusting to RVD's wild style to compete with him.

McFly said that the only ***** match was HHH vs. HBK, he then said the second best match was the 4 way. He THEN said that Angle/Benoit suffered because it wasn't realistic enough. Since realism is the purpose of selling, and since both those "top" matches featured poor selling, we are where we are right now.

Jesus...CC!

Now RRR will have to teach us that edge needs to get a new moveset and then he'll tell us that Pride doesnt have movesets...

The logical answer to that question is this..DON'T DO THOSE moves and deflect all reality.

Again look at the WM8 Savage match...Savage did NO signature moves but hop and punch and a roll up...He did the Elbow drop early...

Poor moveset isn't an excuse, but Edge had a good enough moveset to limit the use of the legs to a level that was reasonable. Look at RVD against HHH. HHH went to work on one leg for ten minutes, and RVD did nothing but kick with that leg for his whole comeback. Now that's crappy selling.

Well in RVD's case it is kind of an excuse. RVD's moveset is what makes him so over. Take that away and it hurts the match.

I'm not saying it's a good excuse. Especially since RVD used to use a lot more moves than he does now when he was in ECW.

Come on. You know was well as I do that Savage is more talented than Edge. Edge doesn't work the mat. Edge doesn't do moves without his legs or without the power in his legs. If you want to talk about the most obvious flaw in the said match, how about when Angle goes for the ankle lock, he doesn't go for the injured leg?

Necessity is the mother of invention.

Edge is limited by his injury. So should his moveset. To act otherwise is to rely on spots rather than selling. Which I have no problem with (at least, not a big one)... I just don't call those matches *****.

Pride features a lot of psychology. And it's real. That's what makes it so good.... that and the knock-outs, submissions, etc.

This is why there is heat on HHH.

EVERYONE knows RVD's moveset is geared towards a 10 minute match with big moves.

And EVERYTIME HHH wrestles RVD its a 20 minute match where HHH works the leg.

EVERYTIME.

Heels call matches, and right back from their ppv match people were talking about how all HHH did was go out there to expose RVD's weakness so he wouldn't be as over.

OK, I'll admit it. The fatal four way match got bonus points because I'm a mark for Angle, and I was absolutely convinced that he was going to lose the match. Then you throw in ten believable nearfalls, and a realistic level of selling (even if it wasn't quite up to your standard from twelve years ago,) and I thought it was very good.

AS will tell you this twice a day

Angle is booked to be a Moron.

I see where you're coming from. But that's pretty much everyone on the RAW roster at this point. Intros/catchphrases/Big moves/high spots get the pops, and the transitions/brawling/mat work are met with silence. Unless you outright promote a great match in advance(Jericho/Shawn) or have a hot crowd (Any city in Canada), that's how people are gonna react the majority of the time.

Are HHH's spinebuster and Sleeper getting pops that I'm missing or something?

Which Is why I really love The Savage/Flair WM8 match because just by watching Savage you could see his thinking

"You gotta stand and just withstand the pain and fight it off and look for a chance" and you got this sick desperate feeling watching him wrench in pain...

I kinda just watched edge and went "Ah...he's "selling" the injury"

Do not tell me you are blaming anyone else BUT Angle for not going for the injured leg.

Angle goes for the Anckle Lock because it's his move. The problem is he doesn't work the ankle. He works the leg. He should start working the ankle.

HHH isn't supposed to get pops because he's a heel. I find Booker T's matches to be consistently more boring than any other main event faces in the WWE. Even A-Train and The Big Show have had better matches than Booker T.

Yes he is.

If he wasn't he wouldn't use The Game for the theme...

He planned it so that he gets a pop when that bitch hits...
