Vern Gagne Posted August 11, 2003 Report Posted August 11, 2003 I think Spurrier is going to stick with Ramsey for most of the year. The Johnson signing was probably Spurrier's ego. He thinks he can turn Johnson into a good QB.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 He's not the first person to think that they could turn Johnson into a QB. Even after absolutely blowing in Buffalo, Gruden thought he could do it too.
Dangerous A Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 Rob Johnson is NFL coaches biggest puzzle to figure out. Maybe there's a bet to see who can get ANYTHING good out of him and whoever wins gets pool money or something. Perhaps Spurrier lost a bet amongst his peers last year and as punishment, has to take on Rob Johnson for at least a year. Who knows. Rob Johnson=Coaches rubix cube.
razazteca Posted August 12, 2003 Report Posted August 12, 2003 I don't whats worst for the Cowboys is it the baseball player or the 3rd rate Kordell Stewart clone who wants to be the starting QB? Or could it be the weak offensive line that will not give either of them a chance to do anything positive. Cowboys suck but they are still better than the Redskins.
Dr. Tom Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 Rob Johnson has all the physical tools to succeed as a QB in the NFL, so teams will continue to give him a chance, based on that. The problem is, he's a head case in the pocket and doesn't deal with pressure well. Another example of this type of player would be Jeff George, who continually got chances because of his strong arm. The Redskins are definitely better than the Cowboys. And considering I loathe the Redskins, that pains me to admit.
BX Posted August 13, 2003 Report Posted August 13, 2003 I'm a huge Cowboys fan, and I'm not expecting anything special from them this season. As long as they win more then 5 games, I'll be happy.
