Guest Ray Report post Posted August 22, 2003 I don't know about you, but I looooove wrestling. I'm watching a tape or downloading a match almost every day. So I want to know, what are you watching? Name the last five matches you watched (and comment, if you want), not counting any current WWE product (going for a classic wrestling theme here). Steve Austin & Triple H vs. Chris Benoit & Chris Jericho - Raw 5/01 - One of the best WWF tag matches I have seen. Loved it. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho - 1995 Super J Cup - I think this is Jericho's best match. You never see that moveset in WWE, sadly. Steve Austin vs. Chris Benoit - Smackdown 5/01 - My pick for WWF MOTY in 2001. The intensity is off the charts. One of Austin's best performances ever. Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho - Royal Rumble 2001 - I've been watching lots of Benoit/Jericho stuff obviously! Best ladder match ever, says I. Love the bumping here (especially Benoit's last bump out of the ring). Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat - Clash Of The Champions VI - The best of their series. I'd call this the best North American match ever. If not, it's close.
Guest BAR Report post Posted August 22, 2003 TAKA Michinoku vs. Kintaro Kanemura (31/7/02) - This is the first TAKA match I've seen since leaving the WWF. His music owns, some Japanese slurring of "I'm gonna kick you ass!" Eddy/Art vs. Santo/Octagon (6/11/94) - One of the best tag matches I've ever seen. Kobashi vs. Misawa (11/6/99) - Most of the Puro guys don't like it because of what AJ matches had turned into by this time. But, I've seen it rated 5* before. Great match. Flair vs. Steamboat (20/2/89) - I like this on the same level as SprSta94. Not up there with the big two for me. Ohtani vs. Ultimo (4/8/96) - Easily one of my top 10 matches. I don't exactly know when it was, unfortunatly. 4) Benoit vs. Raven-Sold Out '98. Heh, enough Benoit stuff? 5) Rey vs. Eddie-Halloween Havoc '97. I love the Rey DVD. Guest Choken One Report post Posted August 23, 2003 Cool... Brian Pillman Vs Jushin Lyger (Superbrawl 1992) -So fucking incredible. Steiners/Luger and Sting (Superbrawl 1991?) -One of those tag matches that you felt could last for hours and it would never slow down. Such a beautiful display of awesomeness. Cactus Jack Vs Sting (BATB1992) -Underwealming in todays modern day brawling but this was revolutionary at the time. Canadian Violence Connection vs Two Man Power Trip -One of the most historic matches in wreslting history for so many reasons. and it's a great match to boot. Chris Jericho Vs HBK (WMXIX) -Dunno if this counts but I loved this match and it still stands as my personal moty.

Guest ToddRoyal Report post Posted August 23, 2003 CC- Did the Benoit/Eddie match have a ton of photographers at ringside and start with the ref holding Eddie back? That's from Super J Cup 94, and the only Benoit/Eddie match I've been able to get off Kazaa. If there's another one out there I must find it... I've been skipping through some tapes (notably ROH and the 94 J Cup) and some downloads in the past week so... Doug Williams Vs. Jody Fleisch- King of England Finals- Wow. Proved to me that Jody is a lot more than a "spot monkey", and reinforced my belief that Williams is one of the best in the world right now. Hayabusa Vs. Jushin Liger- J Cup 94- I really really like this match, even if some people don't. Its got a really good rookie/vet storyline, though that's soon topped by... Great Sasuke Vs. Jushin Liger- J Cup 94- Yaha. Simply AWESOME match. If you haven't seen it, go do it. Now. Jerry Lawler Vs. Randy Savage- Cage match from 83- I downloaded this a few weeks ago- Really fun old school match, even though its slightly clipped and features the world's weakest looking cage. American Dragon Vs. Low Ki- Round Robin Challenge- Any match that features a 20 minute mat wrestling segment that not only gets ZERO "boring" chants but also makes you shocked that 20 minutes went by is just awesome. Currently Downloading--- Mark Briscoe Vs. Jay Briscoe Chris Benoit Vs. Dean Malenko Tiger Mask II Vs. Ted Dibiase Benoit Vs. Angle- Ultimate Submission Match

They're not on kazaa, but you must, I mean MUST get their matches from Best Of The Super Juniors III and Top Of The Super Juniors 1995. Much better than the 94 Benoit/Guerrero match....just amazing matches. You can buy them on tape here and here, if you want.
Guest Kane Fan Report post Posted August 23, 2003 HBK V Bret - Survivor Series 1997 - intense and its more interesting because we know what's behind it... HBK V Nash - GF, BE - hey, I liked this match! Rey V Eddie - Halloween Havoc - trying to get my Mark friend into it and he was impressed. Anyway, I love this match. HBK V Mankind - Mind Games - I'm not very fond of brawls (with the exception of HHH/Cactus matches and HBK/Taker HiaC). Flair V Steamboat - Wrestlewar 89 - need I say anything more? CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 (edited) Randy Savage © vs. Ultimate Warrior, WWF title, Summerslam 92. Not as amazing as their classic at WM7, but still a very good match enhanced by the "Whose corner will Mr. Perfect be in?" storyline. Steve Austin vs. Chris Benoit, RAW, October 2000. This was the night after Austin dropped HHH in the car from 50 feet. An excellent TV match showcasing Austin's wrestling ability (which everyone forgot he had at that point). Mr. Perfect © vs. Bret Hart, IC title, Summerslam 91. Fantastic match that launched Bret's singles career once and for all. Vader © vs. Ric Flair, WCW title vs. career, Starrcade 93. Great match. Flair took an absolute shitkicking in this one. The pop when Flair won the title was one of the loudest I'd ever heard. Wild Pegasus vs. Black Tiger, 1994. Anyone who thinks Eddy and Benoit are great now NEEDS to see this match...brilliant stuff. Edited August 23, 2003 by CanadianChris
MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2003 Just watched Austin vs. Steamboat's US Title Clash match today. It was Steamboat's last match and a nice last hoorah for his career. We all know if he didn't get injured, there'd unfortunately be no nice hoorah whenever he would decide to retire. Cool match with an awesome ending: Austin gets cocky and starts smacking The Dragon for no reason other than being a prick. Of course, Steamboat fights back. A series of near falls ensues, and Steamboat eventually gets the duke the same way he won against Savage at WMIII. Now, the IWC says that Steamboat injured his back skinning the cat at the end of the match. However, a few minutes before that, they were fighting on the turnbuckles and Austin pushed Ricky off. He seemed to land awkwardly (the base of his spine taking the brunt of the fall) and started reaching for his back (obviously, could be selling). However, he seemed in more pain than that. He kept clutching his back subtly every now and again until the end of the match. Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about here?
ArkhamGlobe 0 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Since I can't quite remember which the last five matches I watched were, the three last will have to do: Stan Hansen vs Vader, the match where Hanses hit Vader so hard that his eye popped out of its socket. Good match, I thought, on first viewing. Jumbo Tsuruta and Genichiro Tenryu vs Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody, early 80s All Japan. Pretty fun. Vader vs Sting, strap match from SuperBrawl III (?). Most excellent. And that Austin vs Steamboat match MillenniumMan mentioned was my favourite match back when it happened. I haven't watched it in a good seven or eight years though. Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Quote MilleniumMan831 "Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about here?" Steamboat has said it was the superplex where he fell on his BUTT? which ended his career. I believe he blamed at least some of the fall on too much baby oil being used. Guest jm29195 Report post Posted August 24, 2003 Does anyone have any clue what I'm talking about here?" Steamboat has said it was the superplex where he fell on his BUTT? which ended his career. I believe he blamed at least some of the fall on too much baby oil being used I heard that Steamboat's career ending injury was when he skinned the cat and crushed a vertabrae by landing to hard on the ring apron- the match was against Steve Austin I think.... oh here's the review:- - US title match: Stunning Steve Austin v. Ricky Steamboat. Austin beat Steamboat at Bash at the Beach 94 to retain the title and this is the rematch. The rubber match was supposed to be Fall Brawl 94 but Steamboat's career-ending injury inconveniently cancelled that match and allowed Austin to job to Jim Duggan in 30 seconds. This is a good mat-based match to start with Steamboat working on Austin's arm incessantly. Barry Darsow (as Blacktop Bully) is sitting at ringside dishing out abuse to both guys. Austin is kind of in transition from Hollywood Blond to Stone Cold. The announcers on the masked man: "Ric Flair said he had the Ultimate Surprise, and he pulled off the Perfect crime." More on that later. Meanwhile, Austin and Steamboat are having the match of Austin's career here. Big ending as Austin reverses a superplex but gets caught by Steamboat on the way down. Steamboat splats on the flying bodypress attempt. Steamboat's back was messed up, badly, earlier in the match. Steamboat is still game here, coming back with the CHOPS OF DOOM and a spinebuster for two. Austin tries to climb the top rope to escape but Steamboat with the electric chair for two. Small package for two, rollover for two. Backslide for two. Sunset flip for two. Tony is forced to call the match instead of hyping Hogan. Steamboat does the "skin the cat" over the top rope and hits his tailbone on the apron, and that's what ends his career. What a fucking bummer that must have been. The guy takes some spectacular bumps in his life and it's one lousy, routine move that ends it. Steamboat gingerly gets back into the ring (with three compressed vertebrae no less) and small packages Steve for the US title, Steamboat's last match and title, and a great way to go. We miss you, Ricky. ***1/2 yep I was right And the last 5 matches I have seen are- Booker T vs Scott Steiner from Spring Stampede 99 Hardys vs Edge and Christian from No Mercy 99 Shawn Michaels vs Diesel from Good Friends Better Enemies Chris Benoit/Dean Malenko vs Raven/Perry Saturn from Spring Stampede 1999 Shane Douglas vs Justin Credible from Cyberslam 1999
