syxx2001 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 No, seriously. What do you pay 10 dollars for. On a sidenote, if you are paying for Dames, you shouldn't be complaining as you aren't watching the show to enjoy it.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 I seriously buy some of the shows so Dames can do his diatribes. I don't know what shows I would or wouldn't buy. So I can't complain about a programme I watch because of my motives for buying it? I spend two hours of my life watching TNA- I expect a quality product
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 You can complain, but not the "Im spending 10 dollars" stuff. If I spend 16 dollars to take my little sister to see "Big dogs in a little world" and I dont really want to see then Im not going to say "I cant believe I spent 8 dollars to see that. All dogs go to heaven comes on cable for free, that movie sucked ass. Blah blah blah". Maybe thats just me.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 You can complain, but not the "Im spending 10 dollars" stuff. I'm sorry- I meant 9.95 If I spend 16 dollars to take my little sister to see "Big dogs in a little world" and I dont really want to see then Im not going to say "I cant believe I spent 8 dollars to see that. There are some parts of TNA that I do like- And I do want them to do well. It's frustrating seeing them make the same mistakes that WWE is doing. It's frustrating seeing them keep making all these mistakes.

syxx2001 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 treble, he keeps saying he is spending "9.95" but not to see Russo and the consistancy sucks and all of this other stuff but he doesn't buy it for himself. He buys it for Dames. If I went to Blockbuster and rented "Jackie Chan's Famous Fights" for my mom and I watched it with her and I hated it, it's kinda not right to complain about spending your money on something that sucked because it wasn't for you to watch to begin with. Thats how I see it.
treble 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 You may have to worst logic in the world. Honestly, he's watching the shows, so shouldn't he be allowed to watch them objectively, regardless of his reasons for purchasing the show? Using your example, you're damn right I'm going to be upset if I pay my money for something and it sucks, even if it wasn't 'for me'. If it sucks, it sucks and I'm going to say so. Guest JacK Report post Posted August 26, 2003 Well, if you dislike it so you could try and get dames to reimburse you . . . Oh, and also, I saw you call yourself a fan bob, no offence, but because of the way you present here I burst out laughing; it was GOLD Jerry GOLD! And enjoyment levels depend on how you look at it. If you watch TNA, expecting to see something similar to the WWE; your going to be dissappointed. They don't have the money for that, and they work a different style too. But, if your watching looking for something different, which I was; it's GOLD Jerry GOLD! (or at least I think so, enough to bring out the Kenny Banyon from Seinfeld catchphrase). Also depends on how tight you are with your money.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 And enjoyment levels depend on how you look at it. I got into a TNA show expecting to be entertained. If you watch TNA, expecting to see something similar to the WWE; your going to be dissappointed. Considering I'm a big fan of Ring of Honor- I don't care if a promotion is not a WWE clone. They don't have the money for that, and they work a different style too. But, if your watching looking for something different, which I was; it's GOLD Jerry GOLD! (or at least I think so, enough to bring out the Kenny Banyon from Seinfeld catchphrase). It's Kenny Bania. I expect TNA to put on a good product and entertain me for two hours. I don't think that's too much to ask
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 26, 2003 The "I'm paying ten dollars" thing really is a lame complaint. Complain about the product because you pay for it... but to complain about paying for it puts the responsibilty on the buyer. That's why I don't bitch about how much I didn't like No Way Out because it cost 30 bucks...I complained because it sucked. The money thing is a personal choice...and the only response that should ever be given to someone saying "I paid to see this" is..." Then Stop".
Guest JacK Report post Posted August 26, 2003 Is it really Bania? Wow, I've gone all this time thinking it was Banyon . . . wow, I can't believe that! If only everyone spoke with an Australian acsent, I'd understand what was being said! Well, maybe not, I'm a bit slow. Yeah, I'll agree that a lot of the time they absolutly drop the ball and make a mess of it, but I seem to enjoy it a lot more than I did WWE, so I'll take what I can get, since they don't show Ring of Honour in Australia, or at least not where I can get at it; unfortunatly. So TNA is the best thing available to me, as far as I am concerned, so maybe that influences my perspectives a bit.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Well, all of you WWE defenders should watch a tape of RAW and then TNA from this week and then shut up. I've been watching and sitting looking and saying that TNA is a bush league effort for too long now. TNA is better and people should face up to that. WWE are lucky to put on a great show a month. TNA seem to do it every week now. So, shut up about Vengeance and realise that TNA is THE no. 1 fed in US today.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 Let me preface this by saying that despite some minor quibbles- I enjoyed TNA last night. It was fun seeing Dusty back in the ring, Raven v. Styles rocked and they really have something with Abyss and 3 Live Crew. Well, all of you WWE defenders should watch a tape of RAW and then TNA from this week and then shut up. I could say- All you TNA defenders watch (insert good RAW/SD! here) and then TNA from (insert bad week here) and then shut up. You need to look at the overall product as a whole. TNA is better and people should face up to that. TNA has been having some good weeks lately- but I think to say whether one fed or the other- you have to look at the big overall picture. WWE are lucky to put on a great show a month. While Summerslam was not my cup of tea, WWE puts on consistently good Smackdowns! with good-great matches. TNA also puts on some good shows but a lot of their shows seem like a glorified Smackdown! That's part of the flaw of booking a TV show every week. TNA seem to do it every week now. No- they don't. They DO have bad weeks- and that's part of the flaw of their business model. So, shut up about Vengeance and realise that TNA is THE no. 1 fed in US today. In what sense is TNA #1 though? Is it in terms of quality, drawing power, profit, production values? TNA seems to be having a nice momentum lately and I will miss some aspects of the product. I especally want to see the blowoff to Gathering v. New Church
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2003 There is no doubt in my mind after watching the RAWs, SDs! and ppvs from WWE that TNA has been putting on a better show all year long, with the exception of the month of July. I'm not 3...so seeing Hogan and other "Stars" doesn't make me mark out. So I guess the star power thing is lost on me.

eirejmcmahon 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 I've been watching and sitting looking and saying that TNA is a bush league effort for too long now. Did you watch the X match last week ? By all accounts the WWE is putting out a poor product at the moment (I'm not bothering with it myself) but the fact is that NWATNA does come across as bush league all too often. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 Oh no. The belt fell down. I give this promotion 2 weeks...TOPS
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 As Scott Keith said, it was 'Work In Progress' They should now get the match to hell, but at least give em points for effort and guts for trying something different. It may look bush league, but WWE, even though they seem to be turning some sort of corner, isnt as good as TNA IMO.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 29, 2003 The belt falling TWICE just killed my enjoyment for the match. I mean- the belt fell- TWICE. If it happened in any other federation- I'd be all over them for it.

bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Not if someone was "fulfilling their dream" What does me being happy about London signing with WWE have to do with the belt falling twice?
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 All I'm saying is if someone whether it be London or A-Train said there dream was to be in an Ultimate X match and the belt fell a thousand times in said match...you wouldn't complain once. In fact...I doubt you would say the same thing if it happened in RoH or WWE as long as you marked out for someone in the match.
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 I've shitted on Ring of Honor when the time calls for it They're the fed that booked an international dream match between Red and Fleisch and gave it SIX minutes. I shit on Ring of Honr when the time calls for it-even though they give me free stuff. Sabin is one of my favourite workers. I don't care if it's London v. Regal v. Goldust- if the belt falls twice, the belt falls twice
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Name this quote: "don’t let the finish kill your enjoyment of an amazing match." It seems like even a heel cheating in TNA has ruined your enjoyment of every match lately. You admit that the Raven/Styles match was good...but either completely miss why the runins were the storyline...or want to COMPLETELY screw up TWO storylines by taking them out. This from the man who said the above quote after a Styles/London no contest that recieved ****3/4!
bob_barron 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2003 Name this quote: "don’t let the finish kill your enjoyment of an amazing match." The finish was a double pin. Nobody interfered. It seems like even a heel cheating in TNA has ruined your enjoyment of every match lately. I don't mind if the heels cheat to win on their own- but I don't think AJ should need The New Church to win. You admit that the Raven/Styles match was good...but either completely miss why the runins were the storyline...or want to COMPLETELY screw up TWO storylines by taking them out. AJ could've won cleanly. No one remembers him kicking out of the finishers if Eric Watts and the rest of the crew run in and there's a big brawl and a WarGames is announced. I know I didn't. This from the man who said the above quote after a Styles/London no contest that recieved ****3/4! You know why the match doesn't get *****?
