Nevermortal Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I had to pay 7 dollars again. And its the same old bullshit. Never again. Never again. Ok, I'm kidding. BEST PAY PER VIEW OF THE YEAR. Hands down, no question. I could've done without HHH winning because of doing jack shit, but eh, you win some, you lose some. Lesnar/Angle was sooooooooo good. Not to mention the 4 way. The godly 4 way. And the Benoit-Tajiri powerbomb was SICK. Jonathan Coachman Heel Turn = BEST THING EVER. I marked out. SEVENTEEN TIMES (approx).
Adam Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 It was a great PPV minus the finish, I'll agree with you on that one.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Damn it. ::tucks away the rest of my $7 arsenal:: PPV of the year eh? Maybe, but I still like Wrestlemania better.
iliketurtles Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I enjoyed everything up til the finish...that really left a sour feeling in my mouth. Angle/Lesnar was awesome.
J. Hungerford Smith Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I still am trying to comprehend Coach's turn. My friends and I looked away from the TV for one second, and we turned around and saw him with a chair in his hand standing over Shane. I was speechless, but then I just laughed real hard. It was definitely an, umm, interesting twist. Good stuff though.
Just call me Dan Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I was SEVERELy pissed the 4 way was so short when it was going so well. The Bischoff/Shane was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE, but the Coach turn was off the wall and the Elbow Drop was great. Kane/RVD sucked balls. Really my only complaints other than those expresssed in the HHH going over thread. Really energetic and fun PPV.
iliketurtles Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Yeah...the whole room was in laughter/shock with Coach...it just came out of NOWHERE.
Nevermortal Posted August 25, 2003 Author Report Posted August 25, 2003 Coach's heel turn was hillarious. I absolutely loved it. Except for the fact he can't take a beating to save his life.
Guest Choken One Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 i LOVED it all...Even the finish to the EC match
Styles Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Loved the Coach turn. He should become a heel manager, seriously. Not PPV of the year, Vengeance was better but it's competing with Wrestlemania for second.
J. Hungerford Smith Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Yeah. I don't care that HHH won. In fact, I think it's hilarious. Because his run will go on forever. And there's nothing anyone can do about it, so why even waste the time complaining about it? Just sit back and laugh at how ridiculous it is for him to continue his refusal to put anyone over.
iliketurtles Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 (edited) I thought most of it was just recycled stuff from Mania/Vengeance, to be honest. 4 Way was good...but it's nothing we haven't already seen. Lesnar/Angle was loads better than Mania. EC SS 2002 was better then SS 2003 by miles. Everything else has been done before Raw/SD the past year. Still a decent PPV...I think I'd go Vengeance, Mania, Rumble (I was at it), No Way Out, Backlash (at that too), Summerslam, Bad Blood. Edited August 25, 2003 by HartFan86
Addy Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Someone has to turn the Kane fall into an .mpg
Corey_Lazarus Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Best PPV of the year is, hands-down, Vengeance. 2 MOTYCs, 2 matches that were ***-***3/4, and nothing TOO offensive (even McMahon/Gowen and the Bar Room Brawl were entertaining at parts).
J. Hungerford Smith Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Kane's botch doesn't compare to Steiner. Kane has an excuse that he was on shaky ropes...Steiner tripped off of a flat, solid canvas.
Ced Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Coachman doing something that actually entertained me. Tajiri reminding us that you CAN bridge a German suplex. Goldberg pulling a Shockmaster with the front kick during his entrance. LA PARKA = RATINGS! Thumbs up pay per view.
Guest Retro Rob Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I had to pay 7 dollars again. And its the same old bullshit. Never again. Never again. Ok, I'm kidding. Thank God. I was going to flame the shit out of you.
Guest God Junior Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 A note on the Coach turn: Joey Styles said on his hotline a few weeks ago that he'd met Coach, and thought that he'd make a great heel. So much for WWE writers not paying attention to the internet, huh?
Guest wrestlingbs Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Summerslam wasn't even in the top three for best PPVs of the year so far. Vengeance was much better.
Guest Coffey Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I still think that Vengeance is the PPV of the year so far. I was disappointed with tonights show truthfully.
Guest Choken One Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Yeah I sure they went "HEY! Joey Styles said something...let's do that!"
Nevermortal Posted August 25, 2003 Author Report Posted August 25, 2003 Vengeance bored me. Summerslam was more entertaining.
Guest God Junior Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Yeah I sure they went "HEY! Joey Styles said something...let's do that!" Okay, fair enough. But it at least might have planted the idea in someone's head. How the hell else do you come up with turning COACH heel by attacking a MCMAHON?
Guest Duncan Eternia Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Loved the PPV. *** Kane didnt trip. he was just showing us all his lucha background by attempting a springboard backflip into the ring.
Guest Retro Rob Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 I would say the PPVs rank as (I missed a few...) 1) Vengeance 2) Mania XIX 3) Rumble 4) Bad Blood 5) Backlash
Guest The Real Nosferatu Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 Summerslam wasn't even in the top three for best PPVs of the year so far. Vengeance was much better. So your Saying RR, No Way Out, Backlash, Judgement Day, or Bad Blood was better than Summerslam?? (Reaches slowly for a hand gun)

Guest Choken One Posted August 25, 2003 Report Posted August 25, 2003 since everyone else has 1. Mania 2. Vengence 3. Rumble 4. Slam 5. Fuck the rest
