Jack_Bauer Posted August 30, 2003 Report Posted August 30, 2003 I basically heard NOTHING about this movie and then I watched it. My mate thought right after the movie 'what a lot of shit !'. Most people I ask call it shit. I think it's great ! Does anyone else like this movie, or am I alone on this one.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 30, 2003 Report Posted August 30, 2003 I loved it, personally. It ripped a lot of distopia novels off, but then again, that's not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself. To me, I saw it as a cerebral action film, and I liked it a lot.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Posted August 30, 2003 Report Posted August 30, 2003 No, ur not alone, i loved it
edotherocket Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 I remember when the film opened with them burning the over-sized Mona Lisa, I thought 'this is a movie that isn't really concerned about the little details'. But yeah, its a fun film. Loved the fight sequences.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 It's pretty high on my list as well. Had to track down a copy on DVD though. Despite the one fairly large pot hole I still can't figure out and the director never addressed in the commentary, it's definitely one of my favorites.
Guest El Satanico Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 I also liked it quite a bit. I think alot of people shit on it because they see it and automatically think it's a Matrix rip off.
Guest TheMadmanGreg Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 I really had trouble getting into this movie because of the huge plothole... so I just hit the "I believe" button and now it's one of my favorites.
LaParkaYourCar Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 It's been quite awhile since I've seen it. What was the huge plot hole?
Ravenbomb Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): When they arrest Preston, their computers show that Diggs' gun was the one used in killing the solders during the 'puppy in the trunk' scene. But the gun was switched a while after that, and it was only one gun, when two guns were used. It doesn't really matter, though, it was all a set-up anyways.
Art Sandusky Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Yeah, I'm trying to remember the big plot hole too. EDIT: Okay, I remember now. I remember being incredibly confused by that also, but then just saying "ah fuck it" and hunkered down to watch the one man army go to town on everyone.
eiker_ir Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 i haven't seen this movie, a little synopsis or something please...
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Most of the killings in that scene, though, were done by other guns -- i.e. the shotguns of the other policemen -- so it's plausible that he only used one of his guns in that situation.
Dr. Tyler; Captain America Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Also... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The whole thing was a work, anyway. Preston THOUGHT he got away with it, but "Father" knew the entire time that it was him.
Ravenbomb Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Like I said, It doesn't really matter, though, it was all a set-up anyways. But if you'll notice, he used both handguns during the killings. When the guys surround him, he shoots the guys all around with both of them.
NoCalMike Posted August 31, 2003 Report Posted August 31, 2003 I loved this movie. Rented right after my family bought the nice 5.1 audio digital surround sound system.
